July Bus

Writerwannabe83 · 07/06/2016 10:54

Hi all, I'm starting the July Bus so that we can all cheer each other along even in the very early stages!!

I'm here following the arrival of my AF yesterday so I will now be hoping to get my BFP in July.

My stats: 32, TTC#2, Cycle 2 and CD2.

I've just realised how many number 2's there are in my stats Grin

My cycles aren't too regular following a Mirena removal and a miscarriage earlier this year but I am expecting my FW to start around the 20th of June.

Looking forward to having lots of passengers on this bus followed by lots of us getting our BFPs Grin

I'm on CD8 so quietly approaching fw soon!

Mbire · 21/06/2016 22:44

On my fourth day of flashy face and still no static😡😡 convinced I'm not ovulating every month now. If I do it is usually not til day 18 of a 28-30 day cycle.

Lelly0503 · 22/06/2016 08:37

Haven't managed to BD since Saturday and this is supposedly my fertile week, with ovulation happening tommoro. I have been doing 1 OPK a day at around 8pm and They have all been negative one or any fertile CM yet either so iv either missed ov completely or it hasn't happened yet! Xx

Lelly0503 · 22/06/2016 10:01

Sorry me again, got a question on OPKs. Did one 8pm yesterday, negative, no sniff of a second line. Did one this morning and the second line is much darker but not dark enough to be positive. I imagine the positive one will appear later on today or tommorow. Would you say this means I am approaching ov? I'm just worried as haven't bd since Saturday. If the OPKs are getting darker from now that means I haven't missed it yet? Xx

Wibblewobble100 · 22/06/2016 13:23

I've no idea Lelly, I'm using opks for the first time and am completely confuzzled. Mine are usually negative but then a line develops after 5 mins or so, but as you say not as dark as the control. I really struggle to hold pee for 4 hours though so I'm wondering if I'll miss ovulation completely because of that. Cd 15 and day 3 of EWCM, so I must be going to ovulate soon.....

TryingToStayRational · 22/06/2016 13:43

I'm afraid I'm not much help as I never got a proper positive with the line ones. I've now gone for a fertility monitor (second hand from eBay) as I prefer the digital result and also it means I can use FMU and not faff about during the day or holding wee. Not cheap though of course. Plenty of people seem to get on ok with the cheapie Opks so can prob offer some tips. My only tip is if in doubt, BD!

fuzzinmybrain · 22/06/2016 14:18

Jumping on the July bus after all! I was down in the dumps last week after another BFN but after a few tears, some wine, copious amounts of chocolate and lots of encouragement from DP I'm ready to get on with it!

Age 27
Ttc #1
Cycle 6, CD2
Etd 15th July

Lelly, you probably are approaching ovulation. Bear in mind that once you get a positive OPK, you'll be ovulating in the next 12-36 hours, so you probably haven't missed ov! As Trying said, if in doubt, get BDing! Grin

Lelly0503 · 22/06/2016 14:18

Thanks for both replies, I find OPK'ing so confusing. I guess if I've had negative tests that are only today getting darker I would assume ov is on its way rather than its already happened. I am going to try BD this eve, tommorow and Friday and then keep my fingers crossed for the TWW! Xx

TryingToStayRational · 22/06/2016 15:02

Sounds like a plan, Lelly! Best of luck to you and all those in the throes of OPK-ing, mucus-examining, temperature-taking, cervix-seeking and all other more relaxed types of egg-catching fun. Everything crossed for you X

ScandiManny · 22/06/2016 15:29

Tentatively stepping aboard.

TTC #3
Cycle 1, CD9
ETD 13-15 July (cycle varies between 29-31 days)

DH and I decided a few days ago to 'not prevent' this month and see what happens. That plan was going really well until I remembered how much of a POAS addict I was with our first 2 and had a tiny peak at Access Diagnostics... My bumper pack of opk's and Internet cheapies should be there when I get home from work later Grin

Lelly0503 · 22/06/2016 16:41

Hi Scandi, I thought I'd try TTC like that but nope I went straight into obsessed mode! Just followed your lead and visited access diagnostics wow! Just ordered more OPKs and preg tests for pennies! Also annoyed I paid £20 for my preseed on Amazon when it's only £14 on there! Xx

Lelly0503 · 22/06/2016 16:42

Thanks trying, hope July is a lucky month for all of us xx

SoozC · 22/06/2016 22:36

With opks I test at 3:30pm. I don't necessarily hold my wee for 4 hours, I just go after the kids have left. Some people test at 10am and then again at about 4pm but tbh it's difficult enough managing to test at school once a day!

babydances · 23/06/2016 08:33

Well a successful 24 hours for me! My anaesthetic test appears to be clear- no reaction so far and af arrived this morning at cd49!
Get implant out beginning of July yay!
Being I've had such long cycle and two weeks of spotting I suspect the implant is the cause despite being 10 months out of date.
Onwards and upwards Smile

Hi everyone!

Newbie here!! :)

I had a miscarriage end of March, I'm 27 on June 26!

Hoping to take a test in 5 days.... Fingers crossed for a positive but may need to jump on this bus for July!

Can someone please update me with the terminology he he!

Thank you xx

Mimilicious013 · 23/06/2016 08:57

Sorry for mc user ,hope
you get you bfp soon.

Upwards and onwards it is baby, hope your cycles get better after implant is removed.

Good luck scandi, hope your ttc journey is short.

I'm on cd19 and have been peeing a lot .I'm hoping it's a sign. Nothing else to report just bored of the long tww

BertieBotts · 23/06/2016 09:15

Hi User whatever that number is :o are you going to choose a more memorable name? You'll have to let us know what it is :)

Nothing to report from me. DH asked if I can wait a week to order the opks (ovulation tests) for payday as we've reached our Amazon limit this month. So I hope I catch the right time. I should be cd8 (cycle day 8) today.

Next week I am planning to ask work if I can increase my contracted hours so fingers crossed. It would really help in terms of maternity pay. We are really hoping DH can take the time off actually. I think he'll be a great stay at home dad. But it's whether I can support us while he does that. At the moment on my wage no.

babydances · 23/06/2016 09:30

Are writer and barefoot still around?
Which cycle are you on bertie?
Thanks mimi I've got lots of cramp pains this morning so am going to treat myself to some nice girlie treats like do my nails tonight and watch back to back rom coms Grin

user1466632763 · 23/06/2016 10:00

Oops BertieBotts! Excuse me being the clueless newbie Grin I'll have to change this!

I've had spotting today and last night.. According to the ovulation calculator I should of been ovulating from the 16th-21st.

So may be mid cycle spotting :(

Any tips would be appreciated!

MC happened on the good Friday March, I've had 3 periods since then...

Also can someone please explain this terminology Halo

Poppydm · 23/06/2016 18:02

Hi ladies, just wanting a bit of advice please. I came off the pill in March and had a withdrawal bleed. 26 days later, I had my first real period. I say real, I had no cramps, sore boobs and it was light and only lasted around three days. I then went into cycle one, DTD etc and got a bfn on 12dpo. AF arrived the next day after a 30 day cycle. This time I had cramps but again AF is so light and had barely been there. I know that your body takes time to adjust and get the hormones out of your system but I'm just wondering if I'm actually ovulating yet? I don't want to be building my hopes up every cycle of I'm not. These periods are barely there. I used OPKs last cycles and got two days of positives on them but I read that that can happen if your body is trying to ovulate. Can you tell if you do ovulate via temping? If you're having some sort of period and positive OPK is the likelihood that you are ovulating? Sorry for the ramble just setting myself up for the next cycle and it's something that's been on my mind. Hope everyone has had a lovely day Smile

BertieBotts · 23/06/2016 18:25

Haha it's fine, at least you have a word in yours. When I joined it was N49873409732732 or something like that...

Which terminology do you want to know?

DH's card has been cloned and they have cancelled it :( So no amazon so probably no OPKs this month. Oh well I am doing OK with temping I think.

TryingToStayRational · 23/06/2016 18:44

Poppy if you get positive Opks and a temp shift then the chances are you are ovulating. You can't be 100% sure but they are two good indicators. If you're really stressing you could ask your GP for advice, as there are some blood tests that can be done to check hormone levels x

Poppydm · 23/06/2016 19:04

Thanks Trying I haven't tried temping before. I'm not stressing about it just yet as its still early days for me. Just was unsure about AFs being so light and hoping it wasn't a sign that things haven't quite woken up yet after years on the pill. is it worth trying to temp? What can you find out from it? Thank you again for replying.

TryingToStayRational · 23/06/2016 19:28

What you'd find out from temping is a strong indication of when and whether you ovulate. I did it for a couple of cycles just to see what happened and for a bit of reassurance. But I did find it a bit stress-inducing so haven't done it since and don't intend to. I became a bit obsessed and it wasn't good for me. I think we all just have to do whatever makes us feel as relaxed as possible, and for me that is using a fertility monitor, but for some people it is temping or checking CM or opks or all of the above. And for some people it is none of them! Hope you find what works for you and soon get your BFP Smile

Wibblewobble100 · 23/06/2016 20:01

Arghhh, opks doing my head in. I'm pretty sure I'm ovulating today but they are still negative.... Or at least not as dark at the control.... I had the darkest one first thing this morning, but be 6 pm it's lighter again, similar to yesterday... Could I have had my surge overnight and missed it?
