Hi all, I'm starting the July Bus so that we can all cheer each other along even in the very early stages!!

I'm here following the arrival of my AF yesterday so I will now be hoping to get my BFP in July.

My stats: 32, TTC#2, Cycle 2 and CD2.

I've just realised how many number 2's there are in my stats Grin

My cycles aren't too regular following a Mirena removal and a miscarriage earlier this year but I am expecting my FW to start around the 20th of June.

Looking forward to having lots of passengers on this bus followed by lots of us getting our BFPs Grin

Seriously though laura - I've gone right off the idea of having another Confused

I'm permanently exhausted and stressed by DS that the thought of dealing with pregnancy and then another baby on top of the current nightmare that is my toddler makes me feel a little sick...

When we had DS we always said we'd stick at one, but when he was about 15m old I began to get broody. We discussed the practicalities of having a second and we kind of agreed we would wait until DS was about 4yrs old as a bigger age gap would be easier to manage. However, a few months after that I started to feel like I didn't want to wait and it then took me about 6m to convince my DH to TTC for DC2 now instead.

I honestly don't think I could cope with another one and am going back to thinking that having a bigger age gap would be preferable. My toddler is such hard work, he drains me and I don't think I have the emotional strength to cope with another.

Aw hun. I have a 3year gap between mine. It actually worked out really well as DD started nursery a couple of months before DS was born so I had a few hours every day where it was just me and DS so I could get a quick sleep when he slept and got some one on one bonding time.

My sil is expecting again and dc will be here just before her DD 2nd birthday. I think she's crazy haha! But she does have her parents on hands 24/7 if she needs them.

Only you and DH can decide what's best for your family but I can guarantee that no matter how much of a gap there is, you'll cope no problem Smile

Writerwannabe83 · 20/06/2016 09:29

I met a woman at work yesterday who had a 2yr old, a 10 month old and an 8 day old baby Shock Now that is crazy.

I also met a woman who has 7 children (ranging from 12yrs old down to 4yrs) and is now 32 weeks pregnant with twins Shock

Oh dear God! Someone needs to buy that woman a tv! Grin

Wow Writer!

We are trying to book a holiday for mid August. I've just looked ahead to see I'll either be on my period or pregnant or JUST finding out I'm pregnant on the holiday Confused That will be interesting then!

I think we're going to look at adopting a cat. DH and I are both feeling like we need a "baby" right now and we have been talking about getting a pet for ages. He really wants a dog but I don't want to get a dog at the same time as having a baby.

TryingToStayRational · 20/06/2016 09:53

Awww Writer sounds like a stressful time for you at the moment, hope you soon feel better about things and you can have a good chat with your DH about it all. All my friends who have more than one DC have told me they had many "argh, what have I done?!" moments when pregnant and dealing with a toddler as well, so I'm sure you're not alone in feeling worried. They all got through it though and I'm sure if you decide it is what you want then you will too Flowers

Writerwannabe83 · 20/06/2016 10:03

bertiebotts - I had two cats for 3 years before DS came along and they really, really struggled to adapt to him being in 'their home' and their stress levels went though the roof. They started scratching at the carpets and furniture, urinating around the house and spent all their time hiding under a unit upstairs because they were scared to be around DS. They were frequently getting stress induced cystitis too.

I spent fortune trying to do anything I could to ease their stress (probably about £500+ over 12 months) but sadly after 18 months I had to rehome them because they were so unhappy.

This isn't the case for everyone, I know some cats who have adapted to new babies with absolutely no problems, but I just wanted to share my story to highlight that kittens and future babies are not always a good mix Sad

Ah fair enough. We do already have DS though so perhaps it would be different? Though saying that my mum had two cats when I was born and they never liked me or my sister. The younger one was more friendly. We have been wanting pets since we moved here. It just doesn't feel like home without them.

Writerwannabe83 · 20/06/2016 19:20

I definitely think chances of a harmonious relationship between feline and baby are better when cats are introduced into a home where there are already children Smile

I'd had cats my whole life (from the age of 5) until I moved in with my now DH when I was 27. The house felt so lonely, weird and empty without any cats around so after 12 months of nagging at him he finally relented and let me have some Grin

Hello, can I jump on the bus too
Age 39
Ttc #2
Cycle 1 day 2
Etd 16th July

Was hoping to start ttc a little earlier this year but due to a couple of health problems and being hospitalised twice (once with my diabetes playing up once with cellulitis) we have delayed until now. Was lucky enough to get pregnant with ds ( now 2 and a half) the first month of trying but i'm 3 years older now and guessing it won't be so easy this time.

Laura05 · 20/06/2016 22:32

We got a kitten when my DD was 2 and she settled in really well. She loves my DS but not sure if that's because she was here first or because he doesn't annoy her lol x

BertieBotts · 21/06/2016 06:57

Yes I got a cat lat time when DS was 5 months old. Looking back that was a terrible decision but it was more to do with my ex than DS. But was too many new things at once for sure.

Butterpuff · 21/06/2016 08:14

Hi Vanilla, welcome and f2f!

I can't join in the car debate, we just have fish! Sorry things are complicated again writer.

How are things going for everyone. I don't chart at all but based on cycle length alone my app suggests that my fw starts tomorrow. We are pretty relaxed this month going for everyone 2-3 days and see what happens. Twot only a week away. Seems to have gone quick! Maybe because we have been so busy.

Lelly0503 · 21/06/2016 08:35

Hi everyone, I'm on day 2 of my fertile window, my clue app says ovulation Thursday. I did an OPK last night it was negative. We last BD Saturday, need to try BD every day now until Friday. Worried iv missed the window X

Laura05 · 21/06/2016 09:38

Is anyone using ovia? It changed my fertile window due so according to it I'm now on day two of the tww but I still have ewcm? Before it changed it it had my fertile window until tomorrow so I'm a tad bit confused??

Lelly0503 · 21/06/2016 09:39

Hi Laura, I used to use Ovia found it a bit confusing, if you still have EWCM I would keep BDing just in case cx

babydances · 21/06/2016 10:29

I'm now on cd49! I've now given up for this month. Got a bfn.
Have my allergy test this week for anaesthetic to get my 10 month out of date implant out and I'm guessing this is why this cycle has been so strange. I've been spotting brown for over a week. Get my implant out on the 4th July fingers crossed and then I can start again with ttc!! Angry

TryingToStayRational · 21/06/2016 10:44

Lelly you don't need to do it every day (unless you want to of course) - every other day should be enough really. Doesn't sound like you've missed it. Are you checking CM or are you not into doing that? Hope you fit in a few BDs this week Smile

Lelly0503 · 21/06/2016 11:00

Thanks trying, I think I'm being a bit paranoid as yesterday should of been a BD day but we didn't. I haven't had any fertile CM yet and I did a random OPK test yesterday that was negative so I don't think iv missed it, I'm mainly going by dates I got on an online calculator thingy xxx

Laura05 · 21/06/2016 11:04

Hopefully you get it all sorted babydances It all sounds like a right pain!

I don't know if ovia is confusing because it's my first month of using it so it doesn't have past data to keep it accurate-ish?

Either way think I'm out this month as haven't had the chance to dtd as much as we should have Sad

BertieBotts · 21/06/2016 14:12

Ovia isn't very accurate anyway. It's okay to give you an idea but it weights certain factors oddly and yes the fertile window will jump around. Its method of rating every day with a fertility score is kind of odd, too, because fertility doesn't work like that, you're either in or out. I'd try and see the "score" as a measure more of "It's 30% likely you are/were fertile on this day". If you want accuracy you're better with fertility friend or Kindara. Ovia is easier to use, though. The others might be better with more months' data to look at but I think Ovia tends to jump around even with consistent data.

Don't worry Laura it only takes one BD to make a baby. Apparently the problem is less "sperm meets egg" and more whether or not the egg will implant.

BertieBotts · 21/06/2016 14:17

BTW if you want to use OPKs it's recommended to keep taking them every day or twice a day during the approach to your suspected fertile time.

Laura05 · 21/06/2016 14:23

Thanks Bertiebotts I think I may just look at ovia as a rough guide then. I'm not sure if I've actually ovulated today as had a dull crampy/sharp pain in my left side earlier Hmm
Think I'll just wait and see if AF shows cos I'm starting to give up trying to track and that's without using opks or temping!

SoozC · 21/06/2016 19:43

Welcome to newbies!

I'm waiting for fw so I've been quiet but I am lurking! Only about a week to go.

Eva30 · 21/06/2016 21:54

sooz I'm the same as you. Cd5 and FW due to start cd12.
babydances I'd be going crazy by cd49, hope you get sorted and back on track soon
bertie and laura yes I think they're good as a guide but a bit confusing for the first few cycles. I've been putting data in, using opks and temping and even then I'm only 90% sure of when I ov! On cycle 3 now so think I'm getting there with my dates now.
