Hi (big wave)
So you clicked on here because you were looking for me (I'm flattered!) or the title seemed interesting!
I'm aware it doesn't really explain anything but we are bunch of lovely ladies all TTC and going ever so slightly crazy with it! For more info see our original thread here -

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2412386-TTC-anxious-over-early-pregnancy-possible-symptoms?msgid=56357000#56357000

And our most recent thread here -

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2531973-Christmas-is-here-but-its-not-the-turkey-thats-getting-basted-with-symptoms-to-spot-and-festive-cheer-Prty-and-the-gang-are-getting-BFPS-this-year?pg=39&order=

We are symptoms spotters extraordinaire - you name it we've had it, real and/or imagined Confused
We are here to help, we are all supportive, we laugh, rant, cry, joke, rage, smile, and comfort together. Be you a lurker or poster (established or new) then you are very welcome here. We only have a few rules:

  1. No judgement - we all lead different lives and have different standards and that is fine. You wanna get wasted everyday of TWW, that's fine. You wanna abstain completely, that's fine. We need support, not judgement.
  2. No feeling stupid - we've all had those months where we definitely think we are pg 110% convinced and then AF turns up, don't feel bad about it, it happens. Also we all have different levels of knowledge so no question is stupid apart from the one you don't ask.
  3. On this thread there is no such thing as TMI - we are all adults and we all know how miraculous and amazing... and downright disgusting our bodies can be, it's fine. Share what you want, we will not be fazed.
  4. This thread is intended for support - both giving and receiving. If someone helps you then please be kind and return that to another TTCer.

So that's it, jump in and FX'd for all of my lovelies xx

9am flowers think I'm just worried they are going to say that there's nothing they can do to help or something is seriously wrong so it will never happen for us

Hugs Party. Will be thinking of you. 💗💗💗

MrsFlowers82 · 10/04/2016 18:20

I highly doubt that lovely. There is so much that can be done nowadays. I am sure it will happen for you xxx

Pirsy1 · 10/04/2016 19:17

Dont worry Prty. This is only the first visit - they will do some bloods on you and arrange an SA for your DH. I was nervous before I went but the GP was lovely and very sympathetic. There is no harm in getting some prelim tests done whilst you carry on trying. I have got to thinking that if there is a serious problem then I would rather know and make peace with that than carry on hoping and trying every month. Flowers is right though - there is loads they can do these days. Xx

snowy1982 · 10/04/2016 21:24

Prsy laptop is great all pretty and red and is providing a good distraction, though I may have over distracted myself, haven't had a minute to stop and think all weekend, between work, laptop, studying, new laptop and searching for a new haircut I haven't stopped all weekend. Am sitting down in front of the tv for a spot of relaxation for the first time all weekend.

Prty don't be worrying too much about appointment, easier said than done I know, I was the same when I had mine, but doctor was brilliant and as others have said it is only preliminary testing so it's highly unlikely that they will say they can't do anything

Luna08 · 11/04/2016 03:17

Hi ladies just looking to see if I can join....I have lurked on so many threads but never felt brave enough to join!! Reading through the posts on here I feel like I could have written most of them!!

Been ttc #2 for about 18 months now...had an appointment with the fertility clinic at the end of March but cancelled it as I finally got a BFP which turned into a chemical just after 4 weeks. I felt devastated but wanted to stay positive & feel that it has to be a sign that it still can happen & maybe just wasn't meant to be just yet?? AF due Wednesday & despite promising myself I wouldn't I have been doing my usual symptom spotting & googling any slight change. Urrrgh!!!

PrtyPsn · 11/04/2016 07:38

Hi luna I'm so pleased you felt brave enough to join us, you are more than welcome here xx
Sorry to hear of your BFP and what followed, we all know how hard TTC can be and just so cruel too :( I'll be keepin my FXd for you for Wednesday, lovely x
Thanks everyone for your thoughts and wishes, still nervous this morning but just want it over with :/

Welcome to the thread Luna! I think you will find this a great place for TTC support. Fingers crossed you get a BFP this week though!

I am CD13 now. DTD EOD. OPK'ing too but no positive yet so just going to keep on going.

Good luck with your appointment today Prty!

glitterpoppy · 11/04/2016 07:57

Hi luna welcome to our thread, it's a fab bunch of ladies and I'm really thankful I found them!

Good luck this morning prty, I was the same but it will be fine and least it's another step forward! Let us know how you get on.

MrsKittenPie · 11/04/2016 08:53

Welcome luna - this is a lovely thread - very supportive. Fingers crossed for Wednesday for you.
Hope it goes well today prty - let us know

PrtyPsn · 11/04/2016 10:06

Well, lovelies, that was horrendous.
I go in there, pour my heart out (held back the tears though) for her to say 'we don't do anything until 2 years of TTC - it can take that long, you know?'
As if I wasn't already anxious and churned up about going already, then for her to just brush me off.
Luckily I'm stubborn and there was no way I was leaving until she did something.
Eventually with me really stressing the weird timing of my chemical/early mc and basically that I was at my wits end she very reluctantly decided I could have some bloods done but still kind of dismissed it by saying it would still take til the 2 year mark for a referral.
By some chance it just happens to be cd5 today so she took the first lot.
Then I had to battle the receptionist, guardian of appointments, for my 21 day bloods. Of course she offered me every single day except the one I need, despite my insistence that it MUST be that day (sigh) had to book all they had which was middle of the day so now I've got to try and get time off (unlikely) or try ringing every week to see if there's any cancellations to move the time.
She didn't offer SA for OH or anything. Feel a bit fobbed off and definitely like my concerns were or taken seriously at all.
Sorry for the rant long post x

OP posts:
MrsFlowers82 · 11/04/2016 10:43

Prty that is shocking and complete bullshit!! Is there another GP you can make an appointment with at the same surgery? Can your OH talk to his GP (that is if you don't share the same one)? I would certainly push this, sure two years is not right! Big hugs and sorry you've had such a shit start to the week xxx

MrsFlowers82 · 11/04/2016 10:43

Great about the bloods though. At least that is a start and will give you some answers.

snowy1982 · 11/04/2016 10:46

Prty sorry you had such a bad experience, dont know why some doctors are like that. NHS website says 12 mths is testing time if you are under 35, not 2 years, so if they try and fob you off again i would argue that. Also when blood tests have to be done on a particular day they should be a lot more accommodating, when i was getting mine done they didn't have one on the right day initially but when i told receptionist what it was for so managed to get me in. I know our doctors and nurses do a brilliant job, but when care isn't standard across the country, or even different practices in the same area, it is very unfair

PrtyPsn · 11/04/2016 10:53

flowers unfortunately me and OH share a GP :( it was the nurse I saw as its impossible to get a GP appointment - they release them daily and they are gone by the time I get through plus I work the same hours they work (my employer isn't flexible) I'm definitely considering changing after today.
snowy thanks for the info, I will definitely use that (thought I've have at least two previous experiences where my surgery has given different information than what NHS website contains)
I'm a great supporter of the NHS and there is some cross over with them in my job, they generally do a great job and are very professional - but there isn't always consistency

OP posts:
Jod1985 · 11/04/2016 11:04

Sorry to hear of your experience Prty. Seems so unfair. I would definitely try another GP. Sounds like they are just being arses

glitterpoppy · 11/04/2016 15:37

Sorry your appointment was horrible prty I can't believe that. I would definitely try another GP as that's not right at all!!

Pirsy1 · 11/04/2016 18:17

Prty sorry you had a bad time at the GP. Even if it was a 2 year wait before investigations (which as others have said it shouldnt be - a year is usual benchmark) she could at least have been sympathetic and tried to make you feel better! A bit of kindness goes a long way.

So maybe your OH should go and say you've been trying 2 years and can he do an SA? Or try to see a GP rather than a nurse - although I know difficult for you to get away from work. OR switch surgeries. OR depending on where you are in country there may be some other services you can access for help with this.

PrtyPsn · 11/04/2016 19:02

Thanks glitter
pirsy only other services would be private which I can't afford. Getting an appointment with a GP is ridiculous, they release them daily then when I call they are all gone or they say they only have emergency slots which my problem doesnt qualify as.
Now I'm getting worried my 21 day bloods are gonna be pointless since I have a 31 - 36 day cycle (I did tell her my cycle length) at cd21 I'll only be 3dpo :/

OP posts:
EvansAndThePrince · 11/04/2016 19:18

Sorry toes having a crap time with the gp prty

Can I join? And dive in with an in depth question?

So I came off the mini pill in October, regular cycles since Dec (29 days every time without fail).

AF due 4 days ago, neg test today, some spotting yesterday and the day before.

To add info, DTD the day before AF was due, but we can't actually remember if we DTD at all before in this cycle Blush it's been a really busy month.

With DD I missed a period, tested neg and then when the second period would have been due I tested positive and we never got to the bottom of it because DD was due 9m after the first missed period, not the last actual period iyswim?

I also think I ovulated quite late this cycle which would explain the late period (though not sure why I'd be irregular all of a sudden!) but not the spotting the last couple of days.

I'm going insane. Help me!!!

Stats are
Age 23
Ttc #2 (DD 1yo)
Cycle 3 (ish...maybe...We've been aiming for stress free, LOL)
And currently CD freaking 34.

EvansAndThePrince · 11/04/2016 19:20

Christ, sorry for the essay!

Also, you're to prty*, I'm sure your toes are fine!! Hmm

PrtyPsn · 11/04/2016 19:30

Hi evans (or do you prefer prince?)
My toes are tickety boo, thanks haha! Thanks though, it's been a tough day!
I get the whole last period, BFN, next period scenario of your first DC, it's baffling and all I can add is that it took close to ten months for my periods to truly normalise after being on the mini pill

OP posts:
snowy1982 · 11/04/2016 19:36

Prty, they should have adjusted your day 21 to suit your cycle (at least that's what my GPtold me) but then again, as far as I can tell day 21 is to test if you have ovulated or not so maybe it doesn't really matter if it's only 3 DPO or 7DPO. If you are unhappy with the service they are giving you you should really try a different surgery. This whole experience is stressful enough without adding the stress of unhelpful doctors/nurses

PrtyPsn · 11/04/2016 19:41

snowy I didn't think at the time but it occurred to me while I was loading the washer this afternoon! I'm seeing a different nurse for my 21 day so I'm gonna mention it to her

OP posts:
EvansAndThePrince · 11/04/2016 20:12

Glad to hear it prty Grin (your toes, not your day!)

We were pregnant within 3 months of coming off the combined pill (which I'd been on for years) so I guess I took it for granted I'd be back to normal with having 6 months or so of normal periods after the mini pill (which I'd only been on for 4 months!)
