I thought I may as well start up the April bus since af rudely kicked me off the February bus, and my dh isn't here for March!

Been ttc #4 since September last year. Tricky as dh works abroad so much! I think I'm due to ov on the 3rd of April and dh is home on the 1st, so fx we catch it! I'll be testing round about 17th April.

Anyone else ready to hop on board to keep me company? I have a large bag of mini eggs to share Grin

I quite often look there for symptoms or pg test stats by dpo. I'm not talking myself into it as it might be bad timing but I am almost never sick the last time I remember is 4 years ago when I was pregnant with ds. Had a house full of people with sickness and been the only one not to catch it. Joy of working in health and social care I think you get better immunity. Like I say could've coincidence not getting hopes up yet!

BertieBotts · 06/04/2016 16:35

Yeah fair enough. Hope you feel better soon, then. Or not and it's something good Grin

BertieBotts · 06/04/2016 16:41

Random question. Would you all change your car if you couldn't fit a buggy in the boot? We've had ours about eight months and it's a suzuki swift with the tiniest boot in the world. I think you'd struggle to get an umbrella fold in there. Thing is it's on finance and nowhere near paid off, we have a five year agreement and it won't be paid off then. Car seat wise, it will be fine, it's 5 door, not had an issue getting DS's to fit. But it will be a squeeze. DH is thinking about asking to transfer the finance.

I am thinking nah, as I'll just use a buggy when I'm walking somewhere and take a sling if we go out in the car but DH is fretting about supermarket trips. I did point out we probably won't want to ALL go to the supermarket at once (!) and that even if we did we won't want to push a buggy and a trolley around and baby could sit in the trolley but he seemed sceptical. I suppose that it would be useful to have the ability to take a buggy out. If we got one which is just a car seat on wheels perhaps?

Hmmm. I mean we have a lot of time to think about it of course.

GiraffesCantDoMentalArithmetic · 06/04/2016 16:46

bertie I've never taken a pushchair to the supermarket, but I do put mine in the car quite a lot ( driving to parks, airports, Bluewater...).

Could you fit an umbrella fold one upright in the back seat? I've done that before when the boot was full of crap.

I had a temp drop too today (9dpo). Veeeeery interesting! Hoping for a big rise tomorrow.....

underrugsswept · 06/04/2016 17:15

Bertie, I definitely would. I've taken a buggy everywhere and anywhere - shops, to parks, to visit Grandparents, play dates etc. I'd say it's essentially, especially as babies often fall asleep in their car seats - it's so handy to stick the frame in the boot them clip the car seat on to it so you can shop/lunch/walk/whatever without disturbing them. DS was in his baby car seat until he was almost 15mo Car seats are very heavy to carry anything further than a few metres, specially when they get bigger.

underrugsswept · 06/04/2016 17:18

Also, I'd be quite cautious about stashing one in the backseat - if you're in a crash and things move about in the car it could be catastrophic. I saw a post a little while ago about a baby being injured by just a sippy cup in a car crash. I strap everything down now.

Tabitha78 · 06/04/2016 17:57

Bertie - I think you'll be glad to have some extra space. I've already accepted that my Fiat 500 will have to go if I get upduffed Sad

Sparrowlegs248 · 06/04/2016 18:40

Re the pram. I used a sling a lot when ds was smaller, for all shopping trips pre 6 months. He sits in the trolley now but if I am just getting a few bits with a basket I take his pram in.

My car was titchy, wouldn't fit the silver cross my sister gave me in the boot, not even just the chassis for the car seat to go on.

I bought an Oyster switch, it's fab little buggy, umbrella fold, can parent face or front face and suitable from birth (many aren't). However I have changed my car anyway as my old was three door. I also have a Out n about Nipper and it's fan bloody tastic!! My friend with a fiat 500 has one too bertie.

Knowing what I know now, I would Not waste my money on a travel system. I would but a decent extended rear facing car seat and a buggy like I've got.

searchingchocolate · 06/04/2016 18:50

bertie my brother and SIL have a Suzuki swift and found a buggy/ travel system (a mamas and papas one maybe?) that just fits in the boot so it's definitely possible. Carriers great in ok weather, rubbish in the rain!

Tabitha78 · 06/04/2016 19:10

Notta the downside of the Fiat 500 is not being able to get the baby car seat in the back, rather than the boot space unfortunately Sad

BertieBotts · 06/04/2016 20:23

Couldn't put anything in the back seat anyway because we have DS aged 7 in a booster and the middle seat isn't very big either.

Ooh chocolate, let me know if you can what the name of that buggy is! :) I did use carriers a lot with DS, in all weathers, but I think DH is less keen, so it would be useful to have the option. I want a parent facing pushchair again but I'm not bothered about a carrycot if the seat lies flat.

Will try not to research specific pushchairs too much though as not allowed :o Maybe I'll put that across as a plan - in early pg we try a few out in the boot to see what fits and if we find something, great, keep the car. If not, then we have time to look at changing it. Not sure he will go for it as big budget difference, though.

BertieBotts · 06/04/2016 20:24

I didn't have a car at all when DS was a baby so it's all new to me!

Kellz92 · 07/04/2016 10:34

AF arrived on Monday but didn't have time to mope about it as DD has been poorly and in hospital. Now etd 25th April xx

Tryingtowait · 07/04/2016 10:56

Sorry to hear dd has been in hospital kelz it's horrible when they're poorly.

Mine wasn't morning sickness as ended up throwing up 10 times in 4 hours. Feel so rough :( stupid bugs atm luckily no one else has it yet

underrugsswept · 07/04/2016 11:03

I hope your DD is on the mend Kellz

samk15 · 07/04/2016 11:58

Sorry to keep asking stupid questions but I'm really worried that I ovulate early and that is causing problems. Yesterday was cd 8 and I had quite a lot of ewcm, the OPK test showed a darker line but not completely dark. This morning the OPK line is darker again. I'm not so worried about the getting pg bit again she says! but could early ovulation have an impact on miscarriages (as I had 2 last year). Next pregnancy I will take progesterone just in case. I've asked Dr Google and he's giving me all sorts of answers Grin

Sparrowlegs248 · 07/04/2016 12:01

Ugh trying that's awful. I was hospitalised last month for d & v, caused by toxic shock syndrome.

Got some pinky coloured 'discharge' today so wonder if af is on the way. Would be cd30.

Hope dd is better kellz.

Sparrowlegs248 · 07/04/2016 12:03

Sam I ov early, or at least did pre pregnancy. I'm not sure of a connection with mc but at least it means your LP is long enough!

Sparrowlegs248 · 07/04/2016 12:05

Re opk, I have some from last time (only used them once.....)

When would you use them, if you were me? I used to have a 24 day cycle, and ov'd early. This is my first cycle since ds was corn, currently cd30. So when af appears next, when would you start opk?

samk15 · 07/04/2016 12:45

Thanks Notta.

Sounds like we have fairly similar cycle lengths. This month I have started testing on cd 7 more for comparison of the lines on the test. I'm going to keep testing until the test lines are completely negative. I bought 50 tests for £5 so that will keep me busy for a while Grin

Kellz92 · 07/04/2016 15:50

Trying I was thinking I was going to be lucky still feeling sickly so clearly us the bug, she's getting better now thank goodness!!

Thank you under and Notta,

Having another cycle of no temping etc then will start again, enjoyed the relaxed approach last month, was nice to enjoy dtd instead of having it planned lol.

underrugsswept · 07/04/2016 16:40

Tell me I'm not imagining this... It's faint but I've taken two now someone please stop me. 13DPO apparently. PLEASE be really in there!
