That's very far from an evaporation line! Congrats. At first it will be hard but then they will be so close and childhood as a whole will be easier as they will enjoy the same activities/holidays/games at the same time.

Yikes! And congratulations. If that came up in the timeframe then it's positive. I'm assuming you didn't use contraception (sorry if I'm wrong). It will be fine. The first year will be tough but they'll be so close and great mates.

My two are 16months apart. It was tricky at first, but DS quickly forgot that he used to be an only child and they are best friends now.

I really don't know what to think. I have peed on enough sticks to think that it's definitely a positive BUT it was only 2 weeks ago that we had sex and initially I only saw a v faint line. Told myself it was nothing. Looked at test 15-20 mins later to see this.

Two weeks is about right! That's why it's called the two week wait!

You can get a positive (faint bbut positive) from 10 days post ovulation. Sometimes even a bit earlier if using v sensitive tests. I may have been a serial tester when ttc.

It does look positive as there is colour in the line.

Thanks all for your responses. Will test again using fmu on Monday (we aren't in the UK and that test wasn't fmu) Bloody hell. If I am pregnant it's unbelievable. 18 months of timing, preseed, legs in the air, supplements etc for number one. This time EBF, no period, and one shag - I can't be pregnant

Exactly the same happened to me op. Struggled to conceive dc1, found out dc2 was on their way when dc1 was 4.5 months old and we'd only had sex (drunken) once.

Took some getting my head around and was tough as first but so glad now we had them so close together.

Honestly not sure. We had started to get over the shock and were actually thinking it might be a good thing so a little bit of me is disappointed (and worried that number 2 will take a long time like our first whereas this would have been a blessing I think)

Oh bless you... Emotions must be all over the place! If you are pregnant it is very early so test again in a day or so :-)

Oh I'm sorry that's sounds so confusing / frustrating. Hopefully in a day or two you will get a more conclusive result.

False negatives are common.

False positives are rare.

My money's on positive!

It could have been a chemical pregnancy. It's more common than you would think and it's quite hard to tell. Good luck in future if you did want another

These tests are notorious for throwing out false positives.

I've never heard of a test being notorious for false positives before, I thought they were rare, seeing as the line only happens if the hormone is present.

Easy for the levels not to be high enough in the wee and get a false negative. Not so easy for the test to show a positive for something that isn't there.

Nope, it's not because of that, the dye floods out. Have a look through the boards, there has been loads, especially from internet cheapies!

The whole test is pink, look at the sides, clearly flooded.

I'm with Threequids on this one, i spent 27 months ttc DC 5 so i am no stranger to pg tests and used these. I must have in that time had a good six false positives all from these type of tests ( and one chemical pg ) it is to do with the dye and it throws the result.

I will never ever use them again and i am ttc DC6 - first Response all the way for me, i know you can't use them as often as they are expensive but id rather wait till dpo 12 and get a real positive than a false positive from an ic at 10 dpo, its really disheartening when you get a positive on one of these and then go out and buy a more expensive test to back it up and it comes up completely white and negative.

I had several false positives with these, done a First Response and it was an instant negative.

Sometimes I think we are a bit too quick to call them 'chemical pregnancies' which are very upsetting, when in fact, they are just shit online cheap tests which are flooded.

I have had a chemical pregnancy and 3 mc's myself, so know how upsetting they are.

Have just come back to this. Really interesting. The test was a First Response dip test which I'm not sure they have in the UK? I think that's why I was more convinced that if it had been an Internet cheapy. I tested twice with the FRER midstream tests and definitely negative. Back to the original plan which is to try again in August. Thanks all for your comments.
