Thought I'd get this party started. Here's the stats: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sHG9PPsOs0yIqgR-o2UXX_fdlCQXdVNLfmPpNOePPjQ/edit

May this bus yield many BFPs! Hoorah!

DizzyN jump him just in case! My temp rise was only another 0.15, takes it just above the cover line I think. In reality I don't think I've ovulated but I'm obsessively googling 'slow rising temps after ovulation' because false hope keeps me going!

Eskimo sorry about your blood tests, hopefully they'll fit you in for an appointment soon. I understand your frustration!

Amanda it's great that you were able to distance yourself. Sounds very healthy! So the app is similar to FF then?

loopylou1984 · 09/11/2015 18:06

Eskimo - sorry lovely, how frustrating. Fx for an earlier appointment, I always feel better when I've spoken to the specialists.

DizzyN - jump him! Maybe it's ov and you'll kick yourself if your temp rises tomorrow and you hadn't dtd!

It's cd9 for me and I decided to poas (opk) to compare to last month... There's much more of a line today so I'm confident ov will occur somewhere between cd13 and cd16 so at least I'll know if my lining is ok this time, or just generally a bit crap. Xx

DizzyMerry · 09/11/2015 18:43

I'm so sorry eskimo. Hopefully they can fit you in earlier and look at an alternative plan Flowers

Dizzy jump him just to be on the safe side.

Pug it's always lovely to see you and the other grads on here providing support and advice. I'm fine thanks for asking.

Thanks for sharing that info monkerina.

When are you having the scan sammy?

loopylou1984 · 09/11/2015 18:48

DizzyM - I don't know yet, I have to call them when my opk is very nearly positive. So At a guess Wednesday or Thursday. I'm scared that I'll have a dominant follicle but that my lining still won't be thick enough, as that will mean there really is a problem. Xx

Pikz · 09/11/2015 21:09

Eskimo I am so so sorry. Crossing everything they have an awesome plan worked out for you.

Sammy.... It's going to be good the lining is. It will.

Big hugs to all...Xmas Grin

MadameLeota · 09/11/2015 22:15

They froze 16 vials, not sure how much that actually means in amount though! Over what they'd hoped apparently so fingers crossed it's useable for now (with some left for the future!). I'm not sure what the difference between protocols is and nothing has been suggested yet.

Hope everyone has had a good Monday. Pretty dreary day! After seeing all the charts and reading the advice I think I'm going to start trying temping again next cycle so I feel more in control.

nervoussam · 10/11/2015 10:10

eskimo I'm so sorry about your 21 day results. I hope you feel a little better this morning, so is it just waiting till tomorrow to hear from the consultant?

Amanda I need some of your positive thinking, your approach sounds very healthy and I hope that translates into a BFP for you. Stress is so counterproductive but so hard to stop!

DizzyN so did you jump DH just incase? Wink

sammy congrats on the darker line! Sounds positive and hopefully the scan will show a lovely thick lining for you!

Hello to everyone else!!!

So I heard back from my GP about my scan and bloods. Bloods showed oestrogen had improved from earlier this year, it had been 45, now its 105 but still needs to be over 180 so I have a way to go. Scan showed "some" activity in the ovaries with some small follicles, but my womb was small and lining was thin - hence no bleed. She's unsure of an immediate course of action, she was thinking of giving me a three week course of norethisterone this time, seeing as the 10 day course produced some brown sticky discharge, a stronger course course push it further into a proper bleed. But she doesn't want to do that without speaking to the private consultant I saw back in May though, so he'll either just say yes or no to that if not then what should happen, or ask me to come and see him again, which would be privately of course (£££). So more waiting Angry while all that happens. I do hope by Christmas I am taking something or doing something other than waiting on what seems like a never-ending journey of frustration!

MagpieCursedTea · 10/11/2015 16:10

Sammy sending thick lining thoughts your way!

Pikz nice Santa hat! Xmas Grin

Leota I hope the temping helps you, I find it takes the guess work out for me and like you say helps you feel more in control.

Nervous sorry it's more waiting for you! Although it does sound like you've got some positives like your oestrogen moving in the right direction and your ovary activity! Hopefully the consultant can just give a straight answer to your GP so you can make your next move.

How's everyone's day been? I'm off out with DH tonight to an event that covers both our areas of work which is a rarity. I'm looking forward to it.
My temps haven't increased and my OPKs are still negative but I did get a load of EWCM. I was possibly more excited about it then is healthy but it's my hope for the day!

DizzyNorthernBird · 10/11/2015 17:25

No I didn't bother nervous, couldn't be bothered last night! I'm over it this month.

Yay for the ew magpie! Surely a good sign.

So, I was just wondering...for you ladies who's bodies aren't doing what they're supposed to (producing estrogen, releasing eggs, making linings etc), do the consultants ever investigate what the root cause is or do they just treat the symptoms? There's much talk on here about taking various drugs to force the body to react, but I never really hear anyone mention the why's? Do they just not bother investigating it? If the body isn't producing the correct hormones to make things work then surely there is a reason for this?

Just being nosey I suppose. But nature dictates that our bodies must work in a certain way so I'm just struggling to understand why, for some of us they don't. And I was wondering whether anything is done to correct the problem rather than just treating it. If that makes sense?

PippyLooLoo · 10/11/2015 17:27

Hi lovelies, it's frog with a name change. Can I hop back on the bus?

DizzyNorthernBird · 10/11/2015 17:29

Of course frog! Climb back on!

PippyLooLoo · 10/11/2015 17:36

Thanks Dizzy! I'm armed with Brazil nuts, vitamins, cake and Gin! Grin

nervoussam · 10/11/2015 18:13

It's a good question DizzyN and it's the one DH always asks when I try to relay the information back to him!
GP and NHS have not shown any interest in the cause, the private consultant said to me it's likely to be a "puzzle" of things, and that is often the case with most people. So for me it was coming off the pill after years and years and that messing up the natural balance of hormones. A bad period of stress I went through, low weight (I've since put plenty on!) and heavy exercise (reduced this to moderate). But it didn't seem there was any science to this, just me telling him what I'd been through and him saying they were the likely reasons.

Interested to hear what everyone else has been told ...
Xxx

DizzyN I have high prolactin levels which stop me ovulating. My doctor thinks it's most likely my medication that has caused the problem but whenever I've tried to come off them for any length of time or change to a different med I've become really ill. So the doctor decided clomid was the best course of action to rebalance my hormones.

Amanda the middle one looks dark enough to be positive.

Pippy hello! Smile

AmyC86 · 11/11/2015 00:25

hello all,

Newbie to the thread. Been a Mnet member since 2011 when DH and I decided to TTC #1. We're still in the same boat of TTC #1, had all the blood tests, scans, lap & dye etc etc. Was told that i don't ovulate. Offered clomid in 2013 but put it on hold temporary as i was finishing a degree at uni and we had our wedding in less than 12 months time.

Got a Dr's appointment on Thursday morning to be re-referred back to gyne for the clomid. Has anyone ever done this before? I'm just wondering if the hospital will want to start the process from stratch again or not, i'm expecting fresh bloods to be taken. But the previous process took around 12 months.

AmyC86 · 11/11/2015 00:28

###AmyC86, 29, TTC1, Cylcle (i've lost count), BFP due (not a clue, last AF June 2015). Investigations: all of them. Medication: GP appointment Thursday ready to be re-referred back to gyne. ###

Sodasoda · 11/11/2015 12:40

Hi everyone, another newbie wanting to join please!

I'm 33, TTC #1 and am on cycle 8 I think. had a bit of a break a couple of months ago as I had to have treatment after an abnormal smear (can't really TTC when you can't DTD for 6 weeks!). Thankfully have had the all clear and ready to go Smile It would be nice to have some company and support!

Just bought a clear blue fertility monitor so using that this month and finding it quite exciting! Is anyone else using one of these? I usually have 28-29 day cycles although I had a random 38 day cycle last month which was very frustrating! Hoping to be back to normal this month.

I'm on CD11 today and showing high on the monitor. Would expect to ov this weekend but annoyingly I'm away with friends on Friday and Saturday nights so will just have to do our best.

Anyway, looking forward to getting to know you all waves

loopylou1984 · 11/11/2015 17:55

Welcome Amy and Soda!

It's a bit quiet here at the moment, but things will pick up again soon.

Amy - I haven't experienced it, but I should imagine they'll want to re do some of your tests as I think they have to be fairly recent.

Soda - I found the fertility monitor really useful in helping pin point ov alongside temping :) xx

MagpieCursedTea · 11/11/2015 18:14

Evening all and welcome Amy and Soda.

Amy best of luck with your appointment, I imagine they'll want to do bloods again. My clomid was prescribed by a GP so maybe that'll be a possibility for you too?

Soda I've always wanted a clearblue fertility monitor (we're TTC no. 2, took us 16 months the first time round and we're 12 months in this time round) and every time I've gone to buy one, I've chickened out because of the price. I did it again at the weekend after standing in Boots for ages looking at it. I've heard great things about them. Hope you find it useful! I might go spend my evening looking at them online again Blush

How's everyone else this evening? I'm still the same, low temps, negative OPKs. I'm not sure if I should just accept it's not happening this cycle and stop the OPKs?

DizzyNorthernBird · 11/11/2015 18:56

Welcome amy & soda!

soda that's fantastic that you've been given the all clear and can resume ttc. It must have been a very worrying time for you. I've never used the fertility monitor and try to avoid opks but I can share your frustrations with the irregular cycles, I'm currently cd34(I think?) and haven't ovulated yet. It's driving me potty!

amy I can't give you any advice on that either, ive only got as far as cd21 bloods meself. But like the others say I would imagine they'll want to test you again as its some time since you were last tested.

nervous that's interesting. I wondered if that might be the case. So, it's too difficult/time consuming to work out what the problem is so they just throw drugs at you or label you with 'unexplained' infertility. At least magpie was given a likely reason but what about everyone else? The reason I ask is because there's clearly something wrong with me. Cycles are all over the place the last few months, but have never really settled down since I came off the pill in 2008. I've always suspected I've got a food intolerance (again this was too difficult for the gps to investigate and as I wasn't having severe symptoms I was just told not to worry about it and to just have a balanced diet), and I'm convinced this is at the root of my problems. My theory is that whatever it is that my body doesn't like is sending my hormones out of whack.

I just wish I could cut certain things out of my diet though to see if I can prove a point. It's too bloody hard though Grin

DizzyNorthernBird · 11/11/2015 19:13

magpie I'm ok thanks. Feeling shattered from work, have done a lot of driving around today.

Same here too, my temps have dwindled this last week from around 36.20ish to 36.05 the last couple of days. It's obviously not happening this cycle. The wet cm I experienced the other day must be just my body bluffing. No symptoms of af either.

nervoussam · 11/11/2015 19:19

DizzyN have you tried a Chinese medicine place? They often do food intolerance checks. I know my MIL and FIL had them done a few years ago. Worth a shot

X

Kirjava · 11/11/2015 19:23

magpie I've got an advanced Cbfm that I want to sell...only used it for 2 months, but with my long cycles it doesn't work.
