We have been so busy chatting I've started a new thread. Welcome all 10+ ladies. Hope we all have some luck on this thread.

That's the plan for me too if this one doesn't stick Sammy - would just restart the Progynova straight after AF for a non down-regged HRT cycle.

trixie I think a fair amount of that £15k is IVIG drips - intralipids significantly less expensive and significantly safer!

lucie I took melatonin during my cycles for egg quality, read about it in 'It starts with the egg', it's a powerful anti oxidant, bit like CoQ10.

I have no idea if there is any correlation or causation but the first round I had only been taking the egg quality supplements for about 6 weeks vs the second round, which seems to have had better egg and embryo quality - where I had done over 3 months of the supplements (the duration of the egg maturation process). I am sceptical but who knows!!

Cycle 1: 7 eggs, 6 mature, 4 fertilised and good quality at day 3 but none made it to blastocyst

Cycle 2: 17 eggs, all mature, 12 fertilised, 7 made it to blastocyst - of which 1 is inside me, 4 are frozen and the remaining two weren't sufficiently good quality to freeze

I didn't take melatonin in a natural cycle because it can interfere with ovulation, but everything else I was taking since mid August. If nothing else taking all the various supplements recommended didn't seem to hurt - except my wallet!!

Thanks banana, that's very interesting. I have read it starts with the egg too. Will have to have another look at that chapter. Where do you buy if from?

I still had some knocking around from pre TTC days that I used to get in the USA. But you can get it from Biovea. If you've not taken it before I'd get the 1mg and work up as the full 3mg dose can make you groggy in the morning xx

lucieloos · 29/01/2016 20:22

Thanks Banana, when did you start taking it for IVF? Do you start same time as stimms or some months before? I notice it says it can interrupt ovulation in a normal cycle? Don't want it to mess my cycles up.

OP posts:
bananafish81 · 29/01/2016 20:34

Exactly that - I didn't take it during a natural cycle. In my first cycle which was short protocol I started with stims. In my most recent cycle although it ended up being antagonist protocol, we started out in mid Nov trying to do a long agonist protocol - so started it when I started down regging, and then took it through the 5 weeks of BCP after we stopped the buserelin - ie only took it when I was somehow medicated for a cycle. This one was a bit epic with a 7.5 run up of suppression!!!!

Omg. Caved and tested early - today is 8dp5dt and OTD isn't till Thu (12dp5dt)

But a very solid BFP line on a FRER!!!

Cautious as it is early and it could fade. But cautiously optimistic!

BorisIsBack · 31/01/2016 09:14

banana!!!!!

Trixietwenty16 · 31/01/2016 09:29

Omg congratulations Banana!! Amazing news Grin finally a BFP for the thread, hopefully the first of many!

loopylou1984 · 31/01/2016 09:34

Congratulations banana!! Amazing news! Fx the line keeps on getting darker! Xx

lucieloos · 31/01/2016 09:42

Banana!!!!! That's fantastic news. So pleased for you! It's so good to finally have a bfp on this thread. Did you test with dh?

OP posts:
Pikz · 31/01/2016 09:59

Amazing news banana!

star1980 · 31/01/2016 10:14

Omg, CONGRATULATIONS banana!!!!!! What amazing news. You must be ecstatic GrinGrin Oh this has made my day Smile

Did you test without your OH's knowledge in the end?

Hi everyone else, sorry I've not been posting. I've been lurking and keeping up and wishing you all well, but been busy moving house so difficult to post.

star1980 · 31/01/2016 10:16

Sorry, isnt 12dp5dpt the equivalent of 17dpo? And therefore not actually early? And much more likely to be a solid bfp? Wink

bananafish81 · 31/01/2016 10:27

Thanks ladies! Sneaky test early - was supposed to be a BFN practice run!!! DH said I was v naughty but we are cautiously optimistic Smile

Yes 8dp5dt is 13 dpo and OTD was v conservative. But could still be a chemical so am just hoping the line sticks!

Will email the consultant's secretary tomorrow and fess up and see if he says to hold out till Thu or if I come in for a beta...

Line is very solid and confirmed with a less dark but still unmistakably there internet cheapie!!

Itsme247 · 01/02/2016 18:10

Oh Banana that is amazing news! Congratulations!!

BorisIsBack · 01/02/2016 19:01

Agh I just got in from ASDA they told me a couple of weeks ago that they would dispense my ivf drugs if I brought in the original prescription. Which I just did. But the pharmacist is adamant my prescription from reprofit is either not original or a forgery. She won't dispense it. :( I got it posted from the Czech republic. I don't know what else I can do to show its real. I might have to get the drugs sent from Czech Republic but it's £80 more expensive. Boooo. It was horrible to be accused of fraud, really crap feeling.

Trixietwenty16 · 01/02/2016 19:08

What did your clinic say Banana? bet they didn't bat an eye lid at you testing early.

That's crap Boris. Can you try elsewhere?

lucieloos · 01/02/2016 19:13

Boris, that's awful!! I know of lots of people who have got the drugs from asda or tesco with no problem! Do you have another one nearby you can try or maybe speak to the store manager at that one? They can't go around accusing people of things like that!

OP posts:
BorisIsBack · 01/02/2016 19:18

I've told them I'm going to complain to head office. I was very determined not to be accused of that! There aren't so many asdas round here. I'll try tesco tomorrow. With the exchange rates changing so quickly in our favour now the costs of buying from Czech republic aren't so bad. So that's plan B.

lucieloos · 01/02/2016 19:29

Good for you Boris! I know other have found rates better at tesco rather than asda so fingers crossed for you. I normally just get mine from Czech as its less hassle but I probably should shop around.

OP posts:
loopylou1984 · 02/02/2016 07:19

Boris that's outrageous! Can they call the clinic in Czech? Sorry you're having to add this to your stresses. Xx

star1980 · 02/02/2016 08:08

Grr, Boris that's outrageous! Like Sammy says, surely they can just call the clinic if they have doubts rather than levelling accusations at their customers. Definitely complain. So sorry this is happening. Is it putting your start date at risk? Really hope not.

bananafish81 · 02/02/2016 14:10

That's unbelievable Boris, as if the whole process isn't stressful enough without desperate unhelpful pharmacists and horrible accusations. It's not like you were trying to get bloody amazeballs drugs for shits and giggles. Absolutely seething on your behalf!!Angry
