asher - me too! I have even had af and still symtom-spotting! gah!
mine are a bit more absurd (have a dd so feel like the more strange aspects of being pregnant are back to haunt me....) I had really itchy fingers (which was a thing for me in pregnancy), tingly nips, nausea, bloating.
But like I said, I've had af and a BFN on hpt so I am clearly not up-duffed!!
why am I such a crazy person?????

Asher90 · 15/10/2015 15:30

I love hearing this. I'm not the only crazy then. Haha ?????? OH was the one suggested I come off the pill and I still am freaking out at the concept of actually having symptoms and talking to him about them!!! I love reading about you ladies, and all the dodgy bodies playing horrible tricks on you!!! Envy

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 15/10/2015 16:19

Ahem TMI post. I know you lot love it really. So DH and I dtd on Tuesday pm. Today I had loads & loads of what looked like EWCM it couldn't possibly be sperm lurking around from Tuesday could it? I've had 3 showers & numerous loo trips since then. But I've never had this much EWCM & this month I'm not taking any supplements at all in fact I've even been pretty rubbish at taking folic acid this month.

I haven't had a positive opk in fact I don't even have a definite second line yet. I didn't get a positive last month. Although the gp is sure I'm ovulating Hmm

Hairstylisttoboris · 15/10/2015 16:46

Hola everyone.
nomio thanks for asking after me. I've gone quiet coz not alot is happening and I'm feeling a little sad that Id hoped to have my baby by now. We haven't properly started DTD this cycle, cd 8 of my short cycles so we really need to. We get the SA test tesults back next Wednesday and I assume we get refered then for ivf and icsi (due to low sperm). Costs look like they are about £5k a cycle, we can afford two and a half cycles before we drain our savings, and due to my age the odds aren't good for each cycle. It's depressing. We have a MASSIVE mortgage so can't afford to run out of money. It's a lot to think about, the drugs, the time, the money, the emotional upheaval.

Can I ask anyone who has considered ivf or had ivf who did you tell? How many people knew? And when did you tell them?

Hairstylisttoboris · 15/10/2015 16:48

Beaut it could be EWCM, doesn't sound like spermz still would be likely?! Are you extra hydrated?!

lucieloos · 15/10/2015 17:14

Oh Boris...have you considered IVF abroad? You could get around 5 attempts at my clinic including meds, flights etc for that price. That was one of the main reasons I went abroad as I knew if we did it in the U.K. we could only afford about 2 tries max and that we might need more than that. We haven't told that many people. I told my parents about 6 months before starting just because I found ttc so stressful and I broke down one day and told my mum. We are only a small family so once we started I told my brother and aunty as well. Other than that I've told 2 friends , one of which has already had IVF and had twins as a result and the other is one of my closest friends. Its good to have some people in real life who know what's going on and can provide support. Good luck with the sperm analysis. If you need any help with the results just let me know as unfortunately I know far to much about it all now having been through all this. Big hugs.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 15/10/2015 17:51

Boris how do you know you will need IVF did I miss something? I don't have any personal experience with it but Lucies suggestion of going abroad if that's practical sounds like a good option especially if it means you can afford more tries for less money. It may mean that way that you don't have to use all your savings.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 15/10/2015 17:56

Forgot to say with regards to IVF & telling people. I've quite a few friends that have told me they are going/have gone through it. I also have lots of clients that have told me. Sometimes I think it's just really cathartic for them.

I think if we ever get our BFP this time I'm going to tell everyone that asks how long it took. It's such an emotional roller coaster and I don't think it's good to hold it all in Smile

Hopingfortwo · 15/10/2015 19:28

Hi ladies,

So many of you on the bus!!! Not sure I can keep up but would love to join in and give some virtual support.

I'm 29, hubby is 35 and we have a 3 year old. Decided to start trying this month but I have been prepping my body....so cycle 1 and currently on CD3.

I appreciate most of us just want to get preggers and have a healthy child but is anyone trying to time sex for a certain gender? In the grand scheme of things I don't care but would like to try....any tips for a boy?

I'm sure I got my darling girl because we had sex 3 days before I ovulated (I get excruciating ovulation pain)

Xx

Moomin37 · 15/10/2015 21:17

Evening everyone Smile this is one busy bus and I'm afraid I can't keep up!

Feeling happy and hopeful this evening as AF arrived today (took final Provera on Monday) which means I start the Menopur injections tomorrow...

loopylou1984 · 15/10/2015 21:39

Evening all!

Quick note for Boris. We didn't tell anyone to begin with, we didn't want anyone to know. Then I broke down to my mum after sil fell pg 2 months after their wedding and told her. We also told dh family. And I have told a few friends. We don't want everyone to know, but having a few who understand has really helped. Not having to say 'not much' when people ask what's going on with us has been great :). Xx

loopylou1984 · 15/10/2015 21:41

Welcome hoping!

Moomin - here's to the injections! The first step. You'll be fine.

As for me. Had a scan today, all looks good for natural FET. Got to start opks from the 20th, scan on 21st with a look to transfer at the end of October... Quite possibly on my birthday! Eeek! Xx

Hairstylisttoboris · 15/10/2015 22:35

Eeek sammy it's soubding good for you.

Thank you to all who answered. I'm in a job which often requires confidentiality management and communications plans - I think I over think message management!

beaut DH can't produce big enough samples to test properly, strongly pointing to male factor infertility. Which then probably means ivf with icsi from the research I've done. We've not used birth control for 17 months and have timed sex well and done everything We should for 17 cycles over 11 months - something's wrong :(

Hairstylisttoboris · 15/10/2015 22:53

The other problem I have with talking about this stuff is that mum and dad died 22 years ago, I dont have the natural first and closest person to tell... Also mil is lovely but is completely in - discrete, you tell her something and she tells everyone in southern central England, and on the Isle of Wight, for good measure

loopylou1984 · 16/10/2015 06:06

Actually my mil has told a couple of people and it really wound me up! I didn't say anything, but did say that I really didn't want anyone else to know so I was glad I could be sure she wouldn't tell anyone! She looked suitably embarrassed and none of the people she told have ever said a word! Lol.

Do you have a best friend you could confide in? I've cried each and every time I've told someone, but once it's done it's great to be able to talk. Xx

Hairstylisttoboris · 16/10/2015 08:27

I guess for many people ivf is still such a foreign subject it's too tempting to gossip over.

lucie I'll look into clinics overseas if the doc tells us on Wednesday the only way is ivf. I'm slightly worried about how I'd get the time from work to travel etc. are you going to the Prague clinic? Have they been ok? I'll check them out. X

Hopingfortwo · 16/10/2015 08:32

Wave at sammy and all.

Just quietly following. Sorry to hear you don't have special people to confide in Boris. That was really inappropriate of your MIL. I hope she isn't causing additional stress. Keeping fingers crossed you get news you can move forward with. Flowers

Kirjava · 16/10/2015 08:41

boris I hope you get some answers on Wednesday so you can get your bfp. I may be wildly wrong but I thought workplaces have to be supportive and allow time off for fertility treatment? I've got all my fingers and toes crossed for you.

Any nice weekend plans ladies? I'm off to see my friends from uni - 2 are heavily pregnant after ttc for 12+ Months. I'm feeling really under the weather though. Didn't make it to the gym this morning which is very unlike me Sad

Any sign of your af eskimo? When would you poas?

how are the in laws nom? Any news on your house?

lucieloos · 16/10/2015 08:56

Boris, my clinic is called Reprofit and is in a town called Brno a couple of hours away from Prague. They are good and we have found everything ok there. The last time I went I only stayed for one night as we are freezing embryos and not having a fresh transfer. If you are having a fresh transfer you would need to be there for around a week. Even though I was only there one night this time I still took a week off work and you might find you would want to do the same if you were having treatment in the uk. I find it all quite worrying and wouldn't have been able to cope with being in work on the days they were ringing to give me progress reports so I just find it easier to take the whole week off and try and relax at home as much as possible. I am fortunate that we have quite a good flexi time system in work so I have been able to have quite a few weeks off this year.

Hairstylisttoboris · 16/10/2015 09:15

lucie thank you. I'm working from home today so will go off and Google now :)

kir hope you have a good weekend, hope the pregnant friends are an inspiration rather than a challenge. Sadly employers don't need to be flexible until the embryo is implanted really - then you get maternity protection. For drug taking and fertilisation of the egg stages they can be as difficult as they like..... My work place is quite large but has no ivf policy sadly.

loopylou1984 · 16/10/2015 09:19

My company has a fertility policy which says that all appointments such as scans etc should be treated as per any medical appointment, I get 5 days fertility leave per 12 month period and any sickness from treatment is treated the same as sick leave. It's really good, but that being said I have had to be on top of it as my manager just seems to make rules up as she goes along! Xx

Argh, did a long post but have lost it all.

Anyway, sorry I've been AWOL, I've mostly been lurking not posting.

I can't be bothered typing it all again, but essentially, I think I may have got a faint BFP, at either 13 or 11 dpo. I'm worried it is so faint that I shouldn't count it, not even sure if you can see it in the photos but in real life there is definite colour the same width as the control line, and came up within around 2 minutes. I'll test again on Sunday, but what do you think? DH is away at the moment so there is no one I can show my test to in real life, though I've got it hidden under my keyboard and keep sneaking a look to check (no CCTV in office and no one around me so safe to do so)

Bumsnet - whether you OPK or do it the old fashioned way, no need to hide - come join our ride!

Lily - I can see it! At 11dpo I think that's a good line, I suspect if you test again in a couple if days it will be stronger.

Congratulations! Xx
