Waiting to try, and cycle a mess from the pill

Just wondering if there are any other lurkers in the same boat as me, planning to TTC in December/January?

I came off the pill three months ago and have only had one pathetic AF in that time, so very glad I came off early but also pretty anxious at how messed up things are, 1st cycle was 39 days, this one is 40 and courting.

So who's with me? I can't be the only person on here who is actually hoping for AF!

I know Yvonne never mind! And I was on the pill for 3/4 years Hun on cerelle the mini pill xx

I was on it for over ten years so maybe that's why my cycles are a mess! When did you stop taking it? X

More than likely but my doctor did say it takes about 24-48 hours to get out of your system but getting your cycles back to normal and having periods again is a different situation she said! And I stopped taking it 12th Nov Hun x X

Sorry to hear about AF Chapman, it's a witch isn't it it just means we can be TTC and hopefully BFP buddies this month as we'll roughly be ovulating at the same time as each other (if my pesky cycle settles down!)

Nothing new to report with me. CD 3 so at that really uneventful stage of my cycle where I hope AF disappears soon!! Started taking Agnus Castus again in the hope it can regulate things more. I actually felt it may have worked a treat last month as I went from a cycle of 55 days down to 34 days! Xx

Yeah unfortunately the witch put her spell on me but like u said we can be ttc and ovu buddies!! Happy in a way as this cycle was only 30 days so pretty much what my cycle used to be before the pill!
Hoping we both catch ov and bfp for Jan xxx

That's great your cycles seem to be back to a regular rhythm. It will make things much easier for you in identifying ov! I think between Xmas and year may potentially be my fertile window. Perfect opportunity as both me and DH are off work have also ordered CB digital OPKs for this month to be more prepared! Xx

Hi all. So much to catch up on!

Gx hope you are getting a bit more love and TLC now. Have you and DH got some time off together over Christmas? Yeah I do enjoy my job (not all the time but who does). It's busy and often stressful and a lot of responsibility, but it's also rewarding and a provilage to be part of people's lives at such a special time. Definitely think about your training after having your DC. Probably 70% of the people I trained with were retraining after doing nothing different careers and having their babies.

Welcome flamingo! I agree with the hormones part after stopping pill!! Although not as awful as the time I came of implant, me and DH look back and laugh at it now but at the time I think he thought someone had stolen my personality! I remember sitting across the table from him in a pub one minute enjoying a nice drink after dinner, the next minute genuinely sobbing, snot, heaving the works!! While he just looked on in fear! Haha. I ended up curled up on his lap in the pub crying. Luckily it only lasted about a month.

Chapman, sorry AF got you! Especially with no warning! It's mean isn't it! Although at least your cycles have settled down quickly, lucky you. And you get to enjoy Xmas food and drinkies.

Sophie, cycles and withdrawel bleeding can be different for everyone. Has yours stopped now? My 1st withdrawel bleed off pill was longer than my periods normally are, when I was on pill my withdrawel bleeds each month would only stop when I restarted pill... So think without the hormones going back in it took longer. Although I'm no expert (all my patients come to me already pregnant so I can't really help with this bit of the journey!! :)

Cookie that's great that fertile period will fall in time off! Lots of opertinies this month then!! Fingers crossed the Angus cactus keeps working!

Not much going on over here. Cycle day 14, opks all negative (but last 2 cycles OVd on day 87 and 32 so not expecting anything yet, although would be nice if soy has brought it forward!!) Had a tiny bit of EWCM a few days ago but back to creamy again now and temp and opks say not OVd. Last month had lots of patches of EWCM before actually OVing, think body tries to but doesn't quite do it. Lots of pelvic pain today though so maybe something is stirring!

So...I got a rather unannounced ovulation peak today!! Did a CB test in the morning and 2 OPK's and all positive, after negatives yesterday and Sunday, not even a hint of a faint line! So DTD today which I have to admit was weird and totally killed the romance/enjoyment, as it's the firs time we've properly DTD in a very timed fashion! Has anyone else felt like that?? I'm hopeful that now the first time is out of the way it'll be fine!!

'Killing the romance'. It feels so strange DTD for other reasons now, and I think this is why my DH feels under pressure at times. Hoping he is a bit more understanding this month tho! Xx

Sunny your 'crying in the pub' scenario made me smile - I think we have all had hormone overload at some point, completely out of our control. Hormones have a lot to answer for! Your dh must have been so confused!! Also you mentioned you are using soy now, I've not heard about that before?fx you ov soon
Chapman hope AF leaves you soon, I know it's frustrating but it's really good that your cycles seem to be more normal now. Hope you get your bfp in Jan x

Newgirl great ov peak, I can imagine it might feel odd the first few times you dtd specifically over that time u ov, but I think it's mainly because we spent most of our time before now trying to prevent pregnancy, so when you knowingly dtd with pg in mind maybe subconsciously it feels different?! Dtd used to be purely about pleasure, but now it's about baby making! Not sure if I explained myself very well there, but I know what I mean?! Hopefully it feels less strange for you now you got the first one out of the way.

Still no sign of AF for me, but from what I understand this doesn't mean I am not ovulating... So I'm not too worried yet. I hear some people take up to a year to get AF back though, I hope I'm not one of those much as I hate getting AF at least it would make me feel like everything is working as it should down there.
Feeling v broody today. Best friend due to give birth any day now with her first which is so exciting, but I can't help but wish me and dh were a few months down the line so we could start trying. A member of my family asked me if I was expecting the other day, it really upset me even though we are not trying yet (possibly because we are not trying yet).

Cookie - same time as me then Hun! Il be dtd lots on holiday as the husband won't have a ps4 to be occupied on or football haha! Don't think I'm gonna bother with the opks sticks this month and just dtd lots! Xx

Shame you're AF is not returned yet but by god will you know about it! I was in agony yesterday with it today I've been fine! Have U tried agnus cactus I think that's what it is called haha! But you're right you will still be ov! Fx your AF returns at least u know then your body should be getting back to normal and you can monitor it!

Cookie, Flamingo & Chapman, that is exactly what it was like!! Felt very staged, as you sad flamingo we were both very aware that we were doing it for a reason other than enjoyment. However we have DTD again tonight and was so much more relaxed, I am relieved, thought that could be the end of our sex life !!

New girl great opk! I'm trying not to tell DH when I'm OVing, he doesn't want to know any of that, so we are just having sex as normal when the mood takes us, BUT I initiate a bit more around OV if it doesn't look like its on the cards. If that doesn't work after a few months we will have to get on schedule!!

Flamingo, soy isoflavones are supposed to be natures clomid, you only take them for 5 days at beginning of cycle. I'm a bit worried about messing, but Iv been off pill for 6 months and only had 2 periods so getting a bit impatient now. It's supposed to bring OV forward and improve egg quality. Too early to know if it works yet but lots of stories online of people getting pregnant very quickly on it. Has your friend had her baby yet? Makes the broodiness worse doesn't it!

Not sure what's going on over here. I'm about 2 weeks into this cycle. Temps really rocky!! My temps in the morning seem to be my highest of the day, surely they are supposed to lowest when I wake up! Anyways FF thinks I OVd on cycle day 14, but I'm sure I didn't! I got some pretty bad pelvic pain on the morning of cycle day 15, but didn't quite feel like OV pain (not the same as last month), and no positive opks yet. I did think it was getting a tiny bit darker 2 days ago but not positive, and lighter again now. Don't think Iv missed OV cos last month I had strong positives for two whole days, and Iv tested twice a day. Here's my chart.

Sunny, you seem really relaxed too which is fab! I'm trying to adopt the same approach as you. New girl, I felt soooo similar to you after DTD once I'd got my positive opk! Think DH thought I was only after one thing (which I was ) but it felt better the 2nd time. It's so strange that we're all in very similar positions and mindsets. Hoping we get our Bfps at the same time to journey through this together (ps had a few drinks tonight, hence my soppiness ). GX, how are you doing? You'll be counting down until your scan! Nearly there soph!! Was this morning wee? The opks are better in afternoon. I got an almost positive at about 5pm last month, so I didn't pee for a few hours and dipped wee at about 9pm and it was really dark positive by then. And started to fade again the next day. The surge can last for just a few hours sometimes so I would dip another this afternoon just so you don't miss it (if you don't mind using up an extra stick) x

Currently on day 24 of cycle so hopefully this means a slightly shorter cycle, unlike last month which was 51 days...

I did an opk at 3am last night when I got in drunk!! Iv officially gone ttc crazy!

I'm annoyed with my temps this month. It's still high this morning. Although probably not reliable as a bit late and they say alcohol affects it. So FF still thinks Iv OVd. Getting lots of EWCM still, more than previous months. No positive opk! Grrr. Last month my temps were low and stable in the run up to OV. And if I have OVd then we missed the window. I know Iv just got to wait and see. I wouldn't be devastated if I don't get Bfp this month (we want a baby but we aren't at the point of being desperate) I just want my body to do something normal, and know where I am with cycles. Sorry rant over. X

So opks are being weird. Temps are being weird! Haha. FF thinks Iv OVd based on my temps which are quite high. (I don't think I have) opks all negative. Some days have got darker then next one faint, then next one dark, next one faint etc. hope everyone else's bodies have been more sensible. Xx
