Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory, who wouldn't?)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like Something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

Aww lain/reach ignore them! Some people are just wankers. (Also nice to have some more Essex gals on here Grin )

Reachout · 15/08/2015 07:58

Jelly, I'm a laindon girl Grin from London though Hmm

jellypi3 · 15/08/2015 08:14

So are my grandparents. From the east end but moved to Basildon/laindon. I practically grew up round there! Wink

Reachout · 15/08/2015 08:45

Was Raquels your thing back in the day? Or are you far too young for that Grin

jellypi3 · 15/08/2015 08:48

I don't remember it, I'm 25 so not sure if that's too young?

ChatEnOeuf · 15/08/2015 09:28

Reach that sucks Sad Hope the pain has settled now.

Dark spotting here and grumpy as fuck. Huff.

Reachout · 15/08/2015 09:34

Jelly, that's far too young! Raquels was late 80s/90s Wink I'm only 21 but wish I could've been there.

Chat, thank you hun. I took some 'extra strong' iburphen which has helped. I've never really had period pains, so not only is it new to me, intense ones come as a bit of a shock!

(God help me if I've conceived, it'll have to end in contractions).

Am I right in thinking none of us currently have any DC's?

Peenut2000 · 15/08/2015 09:59

Raquels? God, I'm like an ancient old turd at the ripened age of 35 (worryingly as are my ovaries), I have no DC, have dog though. Not heard of that but was it an Essex thing?!

honeysuckle thanks for sharing that ibuprofen article –I have a bad back at the mo (oh god, it's my age) and had taken a few ... will stop now! :0

oneyorkshirepud Argh! skunk at the door of the tent! We went to Yosemite on our honeymoon last year and I was desp to see these bears they kept saying were wandering around, no such luck! (I just wanted, you know, a glimpse so a close up stroke or anything).

Bye Lain hello Reach! Sorry to hear you had to go undercover!

Peenut2000 · 15/08/2015 10:05

May I also make a confession. I noticed the glorious fertile flowers of doom (doom as it's the end of normal life and back to symptom spotting) that appear on the period tracker app I have and I brought a stick to pee on at work. I'm fairly sure ov it won't happen until next week but I wanted to test my theory is right about when it happens.

Does anyone else get a pain when they think OV happens? (I'm not sure it OV is the acronym for ovulation but that's what I mean!)

I get like a sort of trapped wind cramp in my side (side varies each month) and actually gets quite bad over the course of the day, sort of enough to put you off any baby making!

It happens the same time every month, mid cycle so I'm fairly positive that's what it is but as I'm not pregnant I thought I'd poas to test my wild theories.

Maybe I just get trapped wind, at the same time each month.

Reachout · 15/08/2015 10:09

It was indeed an Essex thing Peenut. Oh and you're not 'old' at 35 Grin I suspect your ovaries may be a little older though ;) but pay no attention, my Mum had babies at 35, 37 and 43! All within 1/3 months of TTC! Clearly I'm not following in her footsteps...

Peenut, those sound like your uterus shifting to make way for new lining. Perhaps ovulation pains if around the exact timing they should.

Tinkfromlovejoy · 15/08/2015 10:20

chat Noo, Sad Flowers I hope it turns out to be breakthrough given your history but I'm guessing you can't expect the same scenario every time. Cake

black loose cotton kecks are the way forward sexy

pee yes, lots of women get pain, exactly as you describe!

JustMeAndTheDog · 15/08/2015 10:24

chat Flowers hopefully it won't turn into full blown

pee I get that, also think it's when I ovulate but like a good JSer I don't use opk's so can't be sure. Also glad there is at least someone else over 30!!

Peenut2000 · 15/08/2015 12:12

Ah good, OK not just me then! I think I've become hyper aware of it since coming off the pill.

I applaud you JustMeAndTheDog for no poas.

Hope your itch goes Black pre needing to be in full working order.

SockQueen · 15/08/2015 12:22

Morning all!

Knackered today after spending all of yesterday cleaning our old flat. Next time we are totally getting professional cleaners in. The witch is still here, so no shagging even if I wasn't aching all over!

My appointment at the fertility clinic came through yesterday - right at the end of September. We've got a 2 week holiday at the end of August, so hoping lots of Brazilian sex might get us lucky so I don't need it...

honeysucklejasmine · 15/08/2015 13:09

You are welcome Peenut. Forgot to say, it's from the Pharmaceutical Journal

ChatEnOeuf · 15/08/2015 18:08

Got fingers crossed but hopes not high. Four pregnancies, four with bleeds...but that irritating witch has turned up more frequently. Poor egg probably drowned in jizz Hmm

justtheonethen · 15/08/2015 20:52

Hi viroids. Back from a heavenly holiday, I'm so relaxed, hope it lasts! Did all the shagging, not that it's the right time (must plan holidays better in future). Hoping for some sort of early ov miracle but doubt it. Think I may do a cheeky opk.

Did I miss anything big?

Hope everyone's well.

justtheonethen · 15/08/2015 20:53

Sorry chat that's wank Sad

Reachout · 15/08/2015 21:04

Fingers crossed for you Chat!

Ladies, I hit my head last Tuesday, it was on the car door and pretty hard. I thought nothing of it really, right after the event it was just throbbing. Fast forward to today and I'm still getting pains in this area.

I posted in the AIBU forum about wanting my OH to cut me some slack (because lately I forget snippets of information just told to my face), and people were asking if 1. I'd had a baby recently, or 2, have I hit my head? The former would be nice, but the latter does actually apply and I never put two and two together until now.
As everyone suggested, I phoned 111. I was advised to book an appointment to see my GP.

Problem is, I've not long ago had two days off because of hospital, and this is a new job :(
My GP are crap, you have to actually book an appointment for that same day, no advancements accepted. Furthermore, you'd have to actually go to the practise and book yourself one because no one bloody answers the phone!
It's tricky because I like my Doctor so never changed GP's when I moved houses, yet I cannot just leave work and pop down there. I know I'm being stupid and health should 100% come before work but I just feel really cheeky asking for extra time away etc.

Please someone make me see sense?

Thank you x

justtheonethen · 15/08/2015 21:22

Can't you go to one of the out of hours ones or the walk in urgent care at hospital? Look on nhs website for out of hours places. Ouchy!

justtheonethen · 15/08/2015 21:41

Positive opk! Cd11 is rather early though!

justtheonethen · 15/08/2015 23:05

Strongest one I've ever had too!

Where is everyone? Feel like I'm the smelly kid at school.

lildottie · 15/08/2015 23:12

just my laid back month I ov cd15. only just caught it on opk/temping as I started cd14!

chat gx

reach I get the work thing, but ur no good to them with brain damage! can you speak to someone at new job and explain situation with gp and offer to make up time. I find if you are upfront and honest with people its usually the best policy. also change GPS! I need to too so let's both make a pact to do it by end of the month!

justtheonethen · 15/08/2015 23:35

Ah it's probably my laid back holiday vibe making my egg want to come quicker then! Probably wants to get out of the cocktail fuelled hell that is my body! Thanks lil, will I catch any temp rise if I start tomorrow? I wanted to temp this month but didn't on holiday.

lildottie · 16/08/2015 01:12

only way you'll know is to temp and see. I imagine pos opk today (um yesterday) would mean ov tomorrow (today!) so you should see temp rise Monday.
