Welcome to the thread for TTCers who track too much, spot to much and use most of our expendable income in Internet Cheapies.

Cycle 5 or 55 we don't care this is a place for your hopeful twaddle and necessary pre-conception ranting.

Ah you can give us some tips!

After Vegas and Yosemite we are heading to San Fran, Carmel, Pismo Beach, Santa Barbara, Venice Beach and then San Diego. We're there for 2.5 weeks :-)

soontobemrslizzy · 21/07/2015 21:10

In San Francisco, try to get breakfast at the Cliff House - it's amazing! Little Italy is lovely and has lots of cute shops and restaurants. Chinatown is worth visiting as well, and fisherman's wharf is touristy but fun. Santa Barbara is beautiful - I don't know it well because I haven't been in ages but it's really nice although pricey. In San Diego, the Old Town and Balboa Park are really great as well.

Rickalicious · 21/07/2015 21:19

Fab, thank you!

soontobemrslizzy · 21/07/2015 21:37

No problem! I hope you have fun! I forgot - if you get a chance to get out to Catalina Island in San Diego, it's stunning. And make sure you get some Mexican and Chinese food - nothing in the UK I've found comes close, I miss them!

Morning. How's everyone feeling today?

Still very little symptom wise here. I'm trying to be grateful bit it's a bit boring... Grin

sorry for disappearing...BFN on Monday and AF arrived today. Trying to hide my disappointment but thought we timed it all right this month so I had got my hopes up! I've made a doctor's appointment for September (which will be 7 cycles of TTC) as I'll be 38 in two weeks and don't want to wait too long if there are possibly any issues.

LOD I remember thinking that in my last pregnancy...was desperate for the typical symptoms at first but then so glad I didn't have any!

Rick, when is your wedding? That's very exciting! I love the sound of your honeymoon trip too.

How is everyone else doing?

LastOneDancing · 22/07/2015 10:57

Thanks welshcake.

Out if interest are you using opks or just lots of DTD? I'm 36 and finally got BFP on cycle 6 so have felt your worry when it doesn't happen quickly, especially if it did first time around.

Welshcake77 · 22/07/2015 13:06

thanks LOD.

we are using the CB fertility monitor and roughly following SMEP based on the info that gives me. It happened first cycle last time so of course even though you know the statistics its still worrying.

Rickalicious · 22/07/2015 21:54

Hi Everyone!

LOD it's my wedding this Saturday. Took all the decorations and alcohol to the venue today, having all my beautifying done tomorrow then setting up Friday.

I'm also pretty symptomless, have very occasional nausea, lots of bloating, boobs have no swelling just slightly tender nipples. Am pretty tired but wouldn't say exhausted. I'd say officially I'm only 5 weeks tomorrow (7 weeks Sunday going by LMP) so still plenty of time for it all to kick in!

LastOneDancing · 23/07/2015 08:14

Ah Rick! Enjoy all these last minute bits and bobs, it's so much fun. I loved preparing for my wedding. Will you be saying anything about your pregnancy? Maybe dropping it into your DHs speech?

I had a very late night at work last night and wasn't home til 1. I felt so sick with a really watery mouth driving home, I think I'm just lucky at the moment and I'm sleeping through my periods of nausea!

LastOneDancing · 23/07/2015 08:16

chelle are you still there? How are you holding up?

achm any news? Are you still about?

OP posts:
chelle792 · 23/07/2015 09:29

rik I bet you're so excited about Saturday!! I'm going to be 21 weeks for mine so mum is warning me that people are going to call it a shotgun wedding! Forgetting that we started planning the wedding two months ago.

I'm around lod Smile the nausea is awful and I keep getting really dizzy but I'm on reduced hours for the summer which will take me to 12 weeks. In fact, I'm tearing my hair out slightly because the extra hours I pick up in term time I will probably have to turn down for safety (sometimes violent kids). So light duties from now on- this pregnancy is going to drag! How are you doing? Booked an appointment with the midwife yet? I'm seeing mine Saturday but we are having financial difficulties at the moment so I don't know if I will be able to afford her Sad banks are criminals!!!!

LastOneDancing · 23/07/2015 10:16

Aren't you in the UK Chelle? or are you having a doula? Sorry to hear you're having a few worries on top of the nausea Sad

My booking app is next Thursday (I think, but obvs not exciting as last time it was just form filling with MW who was clearly bored to tears with my ordinaryness ('so you're married? To the father? Hes not a blood relative? You're in generally good health? No substance issues? No sniffing glue? YAWN').

OP posts:
chelle792 · 23/07/2015 10:53

Yeah, I'm in the UK but am going to book in with a private midwife. I have a thing about strangers around my bits due to a past trauma with a doctor when I was a kid. It's, in my mind, the only way I can reassure myself that I wont have a stranger hanging around my nether regions!

It's all ok, just stress getting the mortgage sorted. Both of us being self employed has made it so so much harder!

Feeling a little sorry for myself, I think. Made worse by not having much work so having time to dwell on things too much

LastOneDancing · 23/07/2015 11:22

Im sorry to hear that chelle Sad I know you probably have looked into it, but have you considered a final year student MW? They can still advocate and support but are a million times cheaper (so I hear). I'm sure I read a thread about it ages ago.

I'm extremely lucky that my Aunt was a MW. I was a bit Confused about my family member sering everything but both DH and I were so glad she was there for LLODs birth, it's nice to have that 1 to 1 support when you're vulnerable.

chelle792 · 23/07/2015 12:11

That's actually not a bad idea Star you're a star! Did you have a hospital birth? I need to be at home. I've already given baby the memo on that one and she's planning on co-operating Wink

LastOneDancing · 23/07/2015 12:23

I wanted a MLU birth but ended up under consultant care so it was a hospital birth but I was allowed to labour in the pool.

Personally I will go to the hospital again I think as I will probably try VBAC but I honestly think labouring at home must be lovely in comparison to a hospital. My friend said there was nothing like getting into your own bed afterwards.

chelle792 · 23/07/2015 12:41

What's vbac? Blush
I have romantic deluded notions of a snuggle in bed with OH and baby afterwards. Mainly just think I am a nightmare patient will be more relaxed at home and less likely to freak!

LastOneDancing · 23/07/2015 13:19

Vag Birth After Cesarean.

I can honestly say I don't remember being scared at any point. Don't get me wrong its not pleasant but it wasn't frightening. To be fair I was off my face on gas and air so wasn't even sure what planet I was on Grin

OP posts:
chelle792 · 23/07/2015 13:38

Haha maybe gas and air is the way to go. My friend was telling me that one of her friends is hoping for a water birth and has been asked to bring a sieve. I kindly let OH know what this was for and he went rather pale. Wink I'm so lovely Grin

MrsPCR · 23/07/2015 21:13

Hello!!

Catching up on messages. How exciting wedding on Saturday Rik! Hope you have an amazing weekend. Remember to sit back at some point and watch everyone and just take it all in.

My nausea has become vomiting again. Love how looking ahead to week 6 on my app it suggests morning sickness may start.... Hmm I wish!!

I'm so paranoid about losing it, I can't even think past the next few days, constantly checking stats. I want to enjoy it but feel this is ten times worse than the 2ww! I've managed to conceive DH to have an early scan at 8 weeks. I think I'll be a wreck if I wait til 12. I've got a couple of weddings in 3&4 weeks time and still thinking 'will I be pregnant for that?' Every time I go to the toilet, I expect to find blood. If I get wet down there, I'm convinced it's blood. Even when there's none in my knickers, I'm convinced there will be when I wipe.

Argh I don't know how to relax?!

chelle792 · 24/07/2015 07:18

Mrs pcr. Bless you, the worrying is very normal, I think. I've been speaking to my therapist about it lots she keeps me sane! she reassured me by saying that baby has an instinct for life and needs to be left to do its own thing. Our bodies are literally just the accommodation and nothing else. I've put responsibility onto baby to do its thing because it takes the pressure off me. My job is just to look after myself and baby will take what it needs. Does that sound crazy?

Saying that, I'm the same. If I feel anything wet I do check for blood!

Rickalicious · 24/07/2015 09:34

Hi everyone, how are you all?

I only bloody fell down the stairs last night! Not too bad landed on my bum and elbow but DP insisted I go get checked out in A&E. 4 hours! They think i have sprained my elbow, I refused an X-ray, so may have a lovely big bruise on my wedding day. No cramps or bleeding so am sure the baby is fine, they didn't really check apart from a urine sample but that wouldn't show anything as the hormones would still be in the urine at that point. It's only the size of a pip and very well cushioned and I didn't land on my tummy so I'm confident it's ok.

My first reaction was the baby and I got really upset I may lose it. I was shocked at my reaction as it hasn't felt real up to then but my mother instincts kicked in straight away. Once I'd got over the shock I realised everything was fine!

chelle792 · 24/07/2015 11:33

Oh my rik!! I'm glad you're ok. Imagine having a black eye for your wedding day!!!

FattyFishwife · 24/07/2015 13:49
