you 'll be pregnant by then vicky Smile
when do you start ov testing?xx

Choccywoccydodah · 26/07/2015 17:01

I did regardless of whether I used it or not Vicki. Just thought the first 2 I didn't use it, 5 I did, and this one I didn't.
I used to drink grapefruit juice in the morning (pink not from concentrate), and evening primrose oil too up to ov as they helped with ewcm x

Kazz2112 · 26/07/2015 17:08

I've never even heard of conceive plus or preseed. Will definitely look into it if no luck this time.

Had an amazing day yesterday! Had a couple of little meltdowns getting upset about what should have been and at one point a gorgeous 3 year old little girl walked over to DH, demanded he pick her up and take her hunting for lions and the gruff along in the woods and they looked so sweet! Sad

Beyond exhausted today. Hoping it's with good reason but thinking it's realistically more to do with 6 hours sleep after getting to bed at 4am! sofa, pj's and duvet day today!

clairemorgan81 · 26/07/2015 17:55

glad you enjoyed wedding kazz hope you let your hair down and managed to put testing etc to the back of your mind.
are you testing in morning again?

does anyone on here know about leg injuries caused by running? jeez I'm in agony with both legs below knee area, dosed up on ibrofen and paracetamol constantly but it's far worse now than when it first started which was last Sun......any suggestions?xx

Kazz2112 · 26/07/2015 18:08

I didn't really think about testing at all yesterday which is good. May wait till Tuesday I think. I'm so exhausted that I don't want my nice long lie in tomorrow to be interrupted by being conscious of using my fmu to test!!!!! Tuesday will be 13dpo based on first smiley or 9dpo on second smiley.

As for running - me and DH started running before our wedding. He really hurt himself to the point that he couldn't walk and had to take 2 days off sick. He went to the doctors who said that unless you are am experienced runner and have always run we shouldn't just take it up in our 30 because it causes soooo much damage to legs and joints!!

Genwah85 · 26/07/2015 18:14

Hey all just dropping in to say hi and hope everyone's ok, after my last scan and being told to wait 2 weeks for next one I've kind of gone into denial about being pregnant at all I don't know if I'm pretending I'm not to save any heartbreak on thursday (next scan) but defo fearing the worse at the moment....fed up of being on a downer and not hoping for the future that it's going to be ok....I shall update on thursday x

Good luck to everyone at all stages xx

Indiedog · 26/07/2015 18:23

Claire, regards to running-
Do your stretch first, and after? Very important. My downfall was my Achilles heels. I now do various leg, calf and thigh stretches, and stand on a step and drop your heel down, taking turns on each. Another good one is where you lift your foot/heel back to touch your bum cheek, good for front of thigh stretch.

Is the pain in your shins or calf?
Any pain in your feet?

What trainers are you wearing? A good basic trainer is New Balance. My first pair where £23 I think.
But I did a check on if I were flat footed or high arch etc. Have you done this, it's a must if you are serious.
Or have you gate etc done at a shop like Sweat Shop or a running shop. It's free, and they do your arch, and put you on a treadmill to see if your ankles turn in, out or neutral.

I started running in Feb last year at 31, age is not a problem, unless health of some sort of injury etc.

I will try find the link for a webpage. Don't give up, but do stretch.

Indiedog · 26/07/2015 18:28

Ps, I started running at 31 last year and the this year I completed the five Mile Eliminator race which is a natural obstacle race on an army training grounds, including rivers, hills and mud!
Also the Romsey five mile road race.

If all goes to plan with baby in Dec, I will be signed up for the 2016 Eliminator in Feb.
My goal is a Spartan race at 35.

I run because it challenges me, I'm not fast, I don't race to beat others, I do it to beat myself. I took it up after/during all my MCs and for me it gave me another focus.

Make sure your hydrated too, x

Kazz2112 · 26/07/2015 18:35

Out of interest Indie did you find exercising had am adverse affect on trying to conceive?

My mate who runs marathons and my personal trainer both swear by foam rollers as well for after a run

Marchgirl · 26/07/2015 18:39

Glad you enjoyed the wedding kazz Grin. Good luck for testing this week

How are the smileys going claire? And the water diet thing? Does the pain in your legs feel muscular? I'm not a runner so not much advice but a friend of mine who is had shin splints (not actually sure what that is! )

clairemorgan81 · 26/07/2015 18:41

I only started running the week before indie, I did stretches before and after but maybe not enough......the pain is just below knee on inside of legs, no foot pain..... absolute agony today I cannot be without pain relief. during the night they are both so sore, like a horrible ache too?
ive been putting ice on but difficult to rest with a 2 yr old!

as for trainers I bought Nike running trainers but didn't get gate done although I should have in hindsight. the way I'm feeling I 'll not be able to run again, as struggling to walk. I just want it better, but its getting worse Angry. so annoying as I was enjoying it.x

clairemorgan81 · 26/07/2015 18:44

March no positive opk yet CD13 today hoping it comes tomorrow which is when it usually does. given up on cleanse, honestly I'm useless.....I was on day 6 of 9 and had not lost an inch or a lb and I couldn't hack it. it was so hard, I just felt so awful, doesn't help that legs so bad so can't exercise and ds is totally playing up at moment, testing me is an understatement Sad xx

Indiedog · 26/07/2015 19:02

One of the main muscles run down the insides of your calves.
I think the main thing is stretching more before and after, not being dehydrated even if you think you've drunk enough, and the foot wear.

The arch is the main thing, as if you are flat footed you foot will be falling inwards, and pulling muscles etc, if you have a high arch it needs support to keep it in a reasonable position.
Just buying running trainers without actually knowing what feet they are designed for may not be giving you the support you need.

I bought my first pair on my own, but I stood on a plate thingy that showed the heat mark of your feet, and you could tell in a very basic way what type of arch you have.

Massage your legs, keep doing what you are and let them recover. Then search for a running shop that does gait testing, it should be free.
Don't fork out on expensive trainers, get them to tell you what your feet are and then look online.

Don't give up just yet.

clairemorgan81 · 26/07/2015 19:31

Will do indie and thanks for advice.
hope you are well xx

Kazz2112 · 26/07/2015 20:26

Right... possibly a TMI post but I need opinions and I don't want to get DHs hopes up... today I've had horrendous diarrhea all day.

Food wise I've eaten the same as 200 other people at the wedding and no one else is ill.

Has anyone else had this in the very early stages before getting a bfp? I'm sure I've had this before getting a bfp with pg 1 and 2 so I'm slightly getting my hopes up and doing the dreaded symptom spotting! No doubt just to get let down next week.

Vicki272 · 26/07/2015 21:11

Wow this board has been busy today! Glad you had a great time at the wedding kazz -glad you could at least distract yourself for a little while!

Thanks claire fingers and toes and everything crossed!! I'm ov testing from the 1st... Still not sure on cycle length so L & D said to go as if I'm on a 28 and that way I don't miss anything.

Going to try the conceive plus I think.... Anything is worth a blummin go!!

choccy how does pink grapefruit juice work?

Xx

Vicki272 · 26/07/2015 21:14

Running wise, I deffo recommend getting the right trainers! Makes such a difference... That and trying to run on grass/soft ground as road running can really damage knees etc.

Dong try and run through knee or joint pain, rest it and keep stretching. Walk it out slowly... Xx

MAS7 · 26/07/2015 21:35

Yes kazz! Diarrhoea has always been an early symptom for me. Fingers crossed for you

Kazz2112 · 26/07/2015 21:56

Oh God I really really hope so. I'm really pinning my hopes on this month and know I'll be devastated if it's another unsuccessful cycle! Sad

Vicki272 · 27/07/2015 06:45

Good luck for the testing this week kazz xx

Genwah85 · 27/07/2015 09:04

Good luck Kazz x

Choccywoccydodah · 27/07/2015 09:15

Diarrhoea was a first symptom for me too kazz!!

Vicki, you can have normal or pink grapefruit juice, I just preferred the pink. Must be pure and not from concentrate (normally in the supermarket fridges in plastic bottles rather than cartons). Drink 1 glass per day up to ov and it helps with producing ewcm :)

Marchgirl · 27/07/2015 09:23

Any joy this morning kazz? Or have you held out til tomorrow?

How about you claire? Hope you get your smiley today

Good luck for the scan today brummiemum, hand holding for you x

Kazz2112 · 27/07/2015 09:30

I'm holding out for tomorrow March. I've got some first response tests due to arrive today I think so I'm thinking I'll use those first as they'd show up before clearblue and I dont see the point in putting myself through days of disappointment if unnecessary.

I'm feeling really panicked about the testing tbh. Sad

Marchgirl · 27/07/2015 09:42

Nerves of steel to hold out kazz! Keeping everything crossed for you for tomorrow xx
