Hi Brummie, it's a boy, we found out at a private scan at 17 weeks. He's a little fidget bum.
Been reading lots, and lots of women said their placenta had moved by 32 week scan. Just got to be wary of bleeding occurring!

Vicki272 · 20/07/2015 20:26

Having a bad day today... Just had to sit through a whole conversation at work where 2 of the girls there were saying if they were to go back in time, they wouldn't have their kids (love them to bits and blah blah) but they would have been more selfish and been without.

Doesn't seem fair sometimes, you know?

Another pregnancy announcement at work too! Just one of those days I guess!

So, still no BFP... One day left until AF so now just hoping for that as cycles have been a bit irregular and really don't have the time for that with the October deadline looming!

I'm home alone tonight as the OH is working away so have worked late and now going to keep myself busy!
Sad
Xx

Kazz2112 · 20/07/2015 21:43

I totally get how you feel Vicki. I'm sure if they had any inkling of what we've been through they wouldn't be saying that.

As for AF - don't give up! As Genwah (I think) proved your positive can show up when you think it's a definite no!

Vicki272 · 20/07/2015 22:26

It's good to know I'm not the only one! That's the worst part kazz one of them does actually know!

Fingers crossed on whatever is coming my way! Xx

Marchgirl · 21/07/2015 05:59

Great scan news indie. I've also heard of a lot of people who had low lying placenta but they moved up in time. The body is amazingly efficient!

Sorry you are feeling low vicki. It's so frustrating to hear people who aren't grateful for what they've got when you've tried so hard to achieve what they regret. Fingers crossed for a bfp today for you, or if not, that next cycle it regular

How can someone regret having a child??? Fucking ungrateful bitches!!
Yes it's bloody hard work sometimes and my limits have been reached more than once but seriously??????

Vicki272 · 21/07/2015 11:10

I know!!!! I am glad it's not just me that felt completely shocked by the whole discussion!!!!! Some people ay??

I'm trying to be positive today... Have emailed the trial nurse to see if there is any more that I can be doing, they are going to call later today. X

clairemorgan81 · 21/07/2015 12:24

some people have no idea vicky nasty people.

let me know what your trial nurse says please xx

clairemorgan81 · 21/07/2015 12:24

sorry Vicki Smile. x

Vicki272 · 21/07/2015 13:19

Of course I will... will keep you posted claire Smile

Fingers crossed that there is something else that we can try xx

Vicki272 · 21/07/2015 14:22

Hey ladies... so, update from Debbie (my trial midwife).

She has said that there isn't much more that we can do trying wise, other than DTD from cycle day 10 onwards, every other day up until at least cycle day 18 (probs a bit longer for me as my cycles are a bit longer at 34 days).

Testing wise - it is testing on the ov kits just until you get a smiley then stop. Start testing with pregnancy 7 days after that smiley face. If even the faintest doubt of a line, call them to go in.

She also mentioned that they are looking for 150 pregnant ladies on the trial - nationwide so far they have 80 on the trial so it may be likely for a bit of a reprieve on the October deadline.

Does anyone know when they started the trial? Just to get this in to context really...

Hope this helps. Smile xx

Indiedog · 21/07/2015 16:17

Vicki, I believe the started the trial after August ish, as I was meant to be on a different one trial, so didn't get told about the Response one.
In a good way when I miscarried I didn't start this other trial, and the got told about Response.

It has always been that they want to recruit 150 Vicki. It's just that they are finding it's taking longer to get the BFPs. I believe they have approx half or just over women pregnant, and some will be on the drug and some on the placebo. I think they want to get on with the results that they can gather from what they have, and then move on. As someone mentioned perhaps a phase two.
It could take some time to get 150 pregnant women, which I guess that's what they are finding, so have to have a cut off point at some stage or they could go on for ages.
Bummer really. But fingers crossed for a phase two, x

Kazz2112 · 21/07/2015 17:42

My trial nurse also rang me half an hour since because I've been trying to find out if I should've had a follow up at the rmc for now.

She said depending on the number of positive tests by October they may extend it a little but she's certain they won't go on further than the end if October.

Any luck with the pregnancy tests today Vicki?

Vicki272 · 21/07/2015 18:31

Hi kazz no joy with the tests but AF is here so at least no longer in limbo I guess.

I see indie I hadn't realised, that's why I asked the question, my nurse seemed to think they are likely to extend the deadline for pregnancy but aren't recruiting anymore up front as such, so they will hold out for those of us on it (she didn't say how long) then if no joy look at opening out to phase 2. She mentioned that they have to have a certain amount of results to provide the report etc.

So, fingers crossed for an extended deadline! Even another month gives us all one more shot at it!!! Smile

She has also said that if I need more tests j just have to let them know and I can collect... Don't know if that helps anyone? I am going through loads with my irregular and (at present) longer cycle! Xx

clairemorgan81 · 21/07/2015 18:39

thanks for info vicki and sorry af arrived, it's almost a relief though as days of testing with bfn is depressing and so draining.
roll on a new cycle for you.

I'm starting ov testing thurs.

Waves to everyone hope you are all okay xx

Choccywoccydodah · 21/07/2015 18:46

Are you based at Cov Vicki? Sorry can't be bothered to read back! L & D are the bloody best!! And N is so lovely. They all came with me for my 8 or 10 week scan (can't remember now) along with prof brosens and my dh, was a very full room! :)

Vicki272 · 21/07/2015 18:51

I am at Cov choccy they have been so good, have only really dealt with D most... it's lovely to have someone to just vent at sometimes! she is so helpful!

I hope i get to scan stage... praying for either a BFP next time (and an extension to give us all some breathing space!!)...

I hope everyone is okay? Good luck with the ov testing claire xx

clairemorgan81 · 21/07/2015 18:58

Hi ladies

Just wanted to introduce myself as heard about this thread through 'L' and 'D' at Coventry. I'm Melissa and currently 19+5 thanks to the Response trial and the fantastic team at Cov. Cannot recommend them enough, i think I might have given up long ago if it wasn't for them. We had got to the point where we were terrified of trying again and they gave us hope to have another go.

Choccy I think I recognise you from the Tommies meeting?

Good luck to everyone on all stages of the trial. I don't think the worry will leave me for a long time so can really relate to you all.

clairemorgan81 · 21/07/2015 20:19

welcome and huge congratulations maz. so lovely to hear you are doing so well.

if only I was at Coventry, all I hear is positive stories such a shame that its a lottery postcode my trial team and consultant are just pants xx

clairemorgan81 · 21/07/2015 20:20

LouiseM1987 · 21/07/2015 20:27

clairemorgan81 · 21/07/2015 20:29

how are you doing March? xx

Vicki272 · 21/07/2015 20:38

Thanks louise... I'm trying to be positive! It means it might finally be regulated. Have to try and atay positive... I feel like I might go crazy otherwise.

So, more random question, what are the Tommy's meetings like? We weren't ever pointed in the direction of anything like that. I don't know if it might help?

X
