Still here - they've given me a big shot of antibiotics and some anti nausea medicine. And taken a chest x ray to see where all the dye is. Sigh. Stopped feeling dizzy whenever I sit up which is a bonus. DH is MIA - he's at a work dinner and not answering his phone Sad

Ready to go home now but I think they're going to keep me in overnight. Gah!

FeeFeeLaFew · 05/08/2015 07:18

Gosh Stealth, you poor thing. I hope you are feeling much better this morning. Ponty, Alpha, thanks- reassuring to hear about your friends' experiences, Ponty.

bananafish81 · 05/08/2015 07:20

Omg stealth you poor thing! Thinking of you and so hope you're home soon - if not already - and feeling better xx

PontyGirl · 05/08/2015 08:12

thinking of you stealth - hoping you got hold of DH Thanks

PontyGirl · 05/08/2015 08:25

what supplements are we all taking? I'm on Vitamin d3, inositol (as of yesterday!) and women's health vitamins (which I will finally change to conception vits after I've used them all up)

thought about taking agnus castus too but I'm not sure. I conceived dd while on agnus castus but that was when you could get the stronger tablets from h&b

chandelierswinger · 05/08/2015 09:01

OMG stealth! You poor thing! Thinking of you Flowers

Ponty I take Bcomplex (still taking in what I hope is early pregnancy, as B6 is meant to help with morning sickness... So far so good!); I took evening primrose for increased CM (up to OV only) then high dose Vit C after OV (meant to help with implantation... We'll see eh?!); obvs folic acid (take higher dose as in an old bird!). Didn't get on with Agnus Castus but stopped it anyway as I was trying the Soy Isoflavones and you can't take both together.

Hi FeeFee I also have a friend who had a cyst removed, fairly simply I gather, and it was the size of a melon Shock!!!

chandelierswinger · 05/08/2015 09:05

Welcome back Rosebud! Glad to hear you had the time of your life and enjoyed lots of fun-filled shagging Grin

banana I think fuck me is entirely appropriate in the circumstances!!!! Shock They'll be writing books about you, ya know Wink Have literally everything crossed for you!!

Freddiesmother Flowers sorry it was a BFN. Thinking of you.

bananafish81 · 05/08/2015 09:09

Hi Ponty, I’m positively rattling, but have no idea at all if any of my supplements made any difference to the fact I ovulated spontaneously last month, or already had a dominant follicle before starting the Clomid (late, on CD8)

But (deep breath) here’s what I take:

  • Conception multivit (Zita West Vitafem)
  • Omega 3 (Zita West DHA)
  • Chromium (for PCOS - to help insulin regulation)
  • Inositol 4mg daily (as above)
  • N-Acetyl-Cysteine (to help ovulation for PCOS)
  • Evening Primrose Oil (to help CM - though has done bugger all against the drying effect of Clomid) up to ovulation
  • Folic acid (the standard 400microgram recommended dose is already in the conception multivit, but I have to take a special prescription strength 5mg version because of my epilepsy)

Oh, and I took Soy both this and last cycles (this cycle before I saw the Dr and he put me on Clomid - am sure def not advisable to take both, it just happened that way…)

I've got Bromelain to try 1-5DPO, plus low dose aspirin to take through my luteal phase, though not sure how much difference either can make at this point for this cycle if my lining is so thin.

And I’ve been eating low GL the last few months. Though also cheating madly because, well, chocolate!

Trigger this afternoon! And DH is back in London early, so the striking tube drivers will NOT get in the way of DTDing Thu & Fri!!

xxx

stealthbanana · 05/08/2015 09:15

Morning all. So am just waiting to go home. Feeling better. Just saw a gynae radiologist who explained what happened to me - basically a combination of the dye working its way into my abdomen and then travelling some places it shouldn't, and oversensitisation of the nerves in the cervix (weirdly I have had central nervous system issues due to my hypermobility so perhaps I was susceptible to it). Blood pressure absolutely plummeted too - at one point it was reading 85/52 which is I think why I got seen so quickly.

ANYWAY going home now. Feeling fragile but better. Have had to cancel all my meetings today. Ho hum. At least my tubes are clear!

battenberg123 · 05/08/2015 09:19

Welcome back Rosebud - sounds like you had the trip of a lifetime! I'm jealous haha!

Stealth I hope you're okay, what a horrible thing to happen after the hsg, as if having your private parts squirted with dye wasn't enough!

Bananafish that dominate follicle sounds promising, you might be a clomid marvel!

I think I have conceived this cycle, still no AF and test was stronger when I went to look at it again. Walking around in a state of shock at the moment and don't know whether to start taking the metformin again as I stopped it last week because it was making me feel so sick!

Hellooo to everyone else too, I'm finding it hard to keep up with everyone on here!

stealthbanana · 05/08/2015 09:19

Oh and my supplements are pretty low key, I these even when not ttc:

  • berocca
  • vit d
  • multivit
  • omega 3
  • acidophilus (pro biotic)
  • glucosamine (for joints)

Then I've added evening primrose and Angus castus from AF until roughly (pretend) ovulation as well as daily folic acid (there's some in the berocca too). Plus the metformin obv.

Haven't experimented with soy isoflavones yet or anything - have my Chinese medicine appointment next week so I guess I'll get some herbs there too.

Dollface136 · 05/08/2015 09:31

Wow lots to catch up on!

Stealth I am so sorry that happened to you, but relieved you are home now!I hope DH is going to give you some TLC, what a day you had.

Rosebud Welcome back from holidays, sounds like it was fabulous!!

Bananafish I'm so pleased you are getting such great care and that you have responded to chlomid. It's always encouraging when you have a plan and the medics seem to be doing a good job with what is a pretty complex set of conditions.

Ponty I was and am on inositol. Can't say if it makes a difference as I was only on it a few weeks before I got my BFP but I am staying on it as my GP recommended it and I have read it can help reduce m/c risk so if nothing else it is a placebo, but at best there has been some really promising research into it aiding conception and early pregnancy!

Not much new with me, apart from being a bit of a crazy person yesterday, doing way too much googling about pregnancy and PCOS and convincing myself I was going to m/c! I've calmed down a bit today but have a feeling it will be a loooooong 6 weeks before my scan. I suppose I am lucky in that my last ovary scan (which would have been at 4 weeks) showed the pregnancy sack so at least I know it isn't ectopic or just a weird chemical imbalance!

Anyone else think being PCOS is directly linked to making you a total stresshead worrier haha!

bananafish81 · 05/08/2015 09:51

Hi *stealth

Lovely to hear from you, glad you're home and hope you're resting up. Hypermobility is a fucker isn't it? Please please look after yourself and take care

I also have digestive issues cos of the connective tissue problems. And nerve sensitivity. I guzzle a probiotic I'm guessing for similar reasons as you?

I'm taking the most vile tasting concoction of chinese herbs from my acupuncturist. Looks like eye of lizard and tongue of newt, and I'm happy to compare notes about what she's got me on if you want. No idea if it's done any good, but if my seemingly pre menopausal ovaries have woken up by themselves, and even responded to Clomid, they can't be doing me any harm!

I'm not expecting anything to happen this cycle at all, as even if we catch the egg, my lining is so thin it's unlikely I'd be able to sustain a pregnancy.

But I'm feeling loads more optimistic about IVF having a shot, so even if this month is a bust, things are looking a lot rosier than they were this time last week

big hugs xx

RoseBud2015 · 05/08/2015 10:31

Thanks for all the welcome backs! What is going on with the bloody 'British Summer' weather!?! My body isn't prepared for this sh*t! lol Smile

Glad to hear that you are on the mend Stealth. That must have been a pretty scary experience to cope with on your own- I hope your making DH pay Wink for not answering his phone!

Battenberg this is VERY exciting! Have you got a pic of the line? I love seeing lines (cos I don't get any on opks or tests so this really is the only way I can get my fix!)

Newbies- still lots of gaps on the stats sheet- I would love your updates! Smile because I'm anal and like spreadsheets to be complete Grin

Dollface136 · 05/08/2015 11:14

OMG battenberg how did I miss your post! How exciting!

bananafish81 · 05/08/2015 11:41

Oh and in case it's interesting or useful to anyone

After the obstetric physician had poo poo-ed the idea of Wellman vitamins as a total con, giving DH a medically reason to stop taking them (as lots of the dosages are way above the RDA) yesterday I asked my gynae about zinc and selenium for sperm

He said zinc, selenium and vitamin C are definitely proven to help the swimmers! Helps boost sperm production and prevent oxidative stress that can cause them to clump together. Said the other doc was right to be circumspect about the supplements industry but with respect he wasn't a fertility Dr.

On my way home I picked up some zinc+vitamin C tablets from boots, and selenium from H&B for DH to take. Although bless him, he said he had actually been taking the Wellman vits despite what the first doc had said cos I was doing my bit and he wanted to do all he could.

So fertility specialist's direct orders - get your boys on the vitamins to help their boys!

alphabook · 05/08/2015 12:11

Congrats Battenburg!

Ponty I take inositol (2g) and conception vits. I'm on my last round of NHS Clomid (100mg), if it doesn't work I'm going to try soy isoflavones next month.

chandelierswinger · 05/08/2015 12:40

Hello to everyone, so much happening on this thread xxCakeFlowers

Ginfizz90 · 05/08/2015 14:57

Have any of you ladies had your thyroid levels checked since your diagnosis?
There is strong evidence to suggest that there is a link between pcosers & hypothyroidism. I'm the only one following weightwatchers and not losing. I wonder if my thyroid could be slightly under active.

Freddiesmother · 05/08/2015 16:14

More questions but has anyone had acupuncture? Sort of thing I would have stuck my nose up at before but thinking of giving it a try? Any thoughts?
