sorry banana for the bfn. I agree that our bodies are weird! I know we are all trying not to symptom spot but you cant help it! I've decided that most ppl don't know they are PG until they test, so the fewer symptoms the better for me. Also from the blogs I've read most of the ladies reported getting first symptoms at 5/6 weeks. So that's reassured me not to keep looking! I'm am now 5dpo (previously 8dpo until FF changed my OV day) so the wait continues!!! Keep smiling ladies we WILL get some bfp's this month! Then on to June and more bfp!!!

parsnipbob · 12/05/2015 10:37

Banana sorry for AF Flowers

BananaRaces · 12/05/2015 11:06

Wish - that's what got me this cycle - I've not had any of these symptoms in previous cycles and have been pretty good at not symptom spotting... but there we go.

Just done some reading up on short luteal phases and think I might try taking a Vitamin B complex until OV this month to see if I can make my LP any longer. Anybody taking this / had any success with it?

pulpi · 12/05/2015 11:10

I've not tried B complex, Banana, but I'll try anything at this point. I'm assuming that vitamin B covered by prenatal vitamins isn't sufficient? Perhaps the selenium isn't sufficient either..... I'm away to read up on this now....

autonomousplum · 12/05/2015 11:20

banana my luteal phases have been five days long mainly 5-7 days. I've taken 100mg b6 alone and 100mg b6 with b12 together and 100mg b6 with bcomplex together and it has not made a difference to me. But if your lp is around 10 days it might be worth it because even just one day will make a huge difference to you (although not to me) and some people have success with it. I've taken soy to bring ov forward and extend lp but my lp didn't really change massively. Am about to take progesterone this cycle from day of ov specifically to extend lp!

BananaRaces · 12/05/2015 11:34

Oooh autonomous, interesting stuff. Do you think I should start on the 50mg B complex and move up to 100mg if that doesn't work? Or just say "bugger it", start at 100mg B complex and see what happens?

Pogmella · 12/05/2015 12:25

Hi 88 I'm 29 ttc#1 bfp due 31st if you fancy buddying up Smile cd 9 and I'm already symptom sorting like mad... Gonna be a long month!

Pogmella · 12/05/2015 12:28

autonomous tell me about it- a gin tasting and now 2x wedding invites the 1st month we ttc- what's with all the free booze al of a sudden?! (sips Lime and soda grouchily)

DizzyMerry · 12/05/2015 12:29

Sorry for AF banana. She has been busy for the past few days. Onwards to the next cycle.

Interesting info about the b vitamins. I read they could help with progesterone levels so took them last cycle and my lp was 18 days as opposed to the usual 14 so I obviously didn't need them. Maybe it takes a while for them to work?

######DizzyMerry, ttc#2, cycle 14, Bfp due June 6######

autonomousplum · 12/05/2015 12:36

bana yes I think start with the 50 for the next cycle and see what happens. You don't need a dramatic difference just a couple of days and hopefully it will help! Grin If you don't notice any chance then try 100 next cycle!

autonomousplum · 12/05/2015 12:38

They obviously did setting for dizzy :) although not really what I guess she needed! :)

pulpi · 12/05/2015 12:50

Well that settles it, dizzy and banana, I popping into the shops for some b complex vitamins as soon as I'm finished work this afternoon.

BananaRaces · 12/05/2015 12:55

Ok cool, I will start with Vit B complex 50mg tomorrow and take it until I OV... am I right in thinking this is the right thing to do... Or do I just take it all cycle?

Sorry for all the questions autonomous but you seem to be a mine of sensible information! Grin

BananaRaces · 12/05/2015 12:56

See you in Holland & Barrett pulpi!

autonomousplum · 12/05/2015 13:48
Smile Make sure you get the one which has b6 50mg in it. So not only eg 6mg of b6 in it. Some complex supplements have only a little b6 because it isn't something you need loads of and are often deficient in. And you can take it for the whole cycle. Some people do stop after ov but there isn't any dramatic reason (like with ep-oil for example) that you have to. You are trying but to trick your body into extending the lp over time and stopping is likely to just confuse it a bit more. I stopped after ov first cycle I took it because I was convinced it would miraculously work for me immediately with just the smallest of doses hah but thereafter continued throughout. Like I said, I'm still taking it with no effect but my lp is super short and others have done well when they just needed to lengthen a day or two.
BananaRaces · 12/05/2015 14:04

Thanks autonomous, you're a very helpful lady. Gold star for you! -> Star

Sarah563 · 12/05/2015 16:51

Banana - I think having all the symptoms and no BFP just goes to show how powerful the brain is. When you want something so badly - your brain can convince you that you are PG ....until AF arrives and then all your hopes are shattered for another LONG month!! And seriously these months are getting longer and longer. I feel like a robot!!

ZippyBoo · 12/05/2015 17:59

sarah and banana. I know what you are going through. I did this the first few months of ttc. It drove dh crazy and took all the fun out of ttc. We take a more relaxed approach now. This cycle I did not miss AF until I was 3 days late. I'm now 16 days late and still no BFP or AF.

susurration · 12/05/2015 18:03

hi again everyone, looks like there has been a lot going on since I last checked in (about 15 pages ago!)

I've been struggling to convince husband that we need to DTD more than once a week or when he 'feels like it' if he seriously wants to TTC. So I have agreed I'll let him know when I think i'm ov-ing and he knows to expect more sex but i've also had to promise not to just do it for the sake of TTC. He doesn't really understand how conception works I think.

sorry for all those with BFN's, that sucks big time. Here's hoping June is your bus!

Flowers for those with BFPs!

Sarah563 · 12/05/2015 20:35

zippy 16 days late and no BFP or AP - surely you must be pregnant. When are you going to retest? FX for you

ZippyBoo · 12/05/2015 21:05

Sarah I'm trying not to get my hopes up. I have an appointment with my GP on Thursday morning. I'll retest before I go. I've had a few symptoms but I don't know if they are all in my head. ??

MiissMartiin · 12/05/2015 21:12
