Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

It is the goat jazz we seek, but the twee monitors have too much opinion on getting between the sheets, sexpests writing notes we may be, but at least the bins go out! We're all praying our uterus won

Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also know as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage. Self explanatory, who wouldn't?

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like Something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Lol honey it's like decrepit bingo! I have arthritis, fibromyalgia, and had massive cysts on my ovaries in the past. OH had an op on one of his testes for a varocasile too. So gp said it would take us longer as we had broken bits. Turns out mine were just due to the pill so went away when I stopped and his swimmers were unaffected!

justtheonethen · 06/05/2015 06:25

lil good luck for your exam!

5hell · 06/05/2015 06:30

Epic post lil ! Good luck for the exam Star

wine glad gps concerns turned out to be unfounded, but not very comforting! How are we meant to have faith in them?!

Shrill?!?! What a stupid brave man! My DH occasionally says I've gone where only the dogs can hear me ...also brave Hmm

CD a mystery here, getting occasional hormonal symptoms like skittletits, spots and 'feelings' in the uterus area, so i guess things are 'occurring' which is prob the best i can hope for at this stage.

Chin up stoat your recent pma and antics have been keeping me going & hopeful, and at the end of the day its the shagging that counts. You deserve a bfp after all ur efforts this month, but if not maybe ease back to eod for next cycle, which should be plenty but also give ur body a chance to recover/recoop between xx

Ain626 · 06/05/2015 07:07

Morning viroids.

Lil unless I remember to stop on my way home I'll actually end up taking 120, 120, 160, 160, 160 of soy Instead of 200 tonight as I only have 4 tablets left... Hopefully I'll remember to get some. Else I'll have to remember to get some before the next cycle.

Early morning shag this morning.. Need to go for Friday next for eod but DH is away this weekend so would have to be another morning shag then too.. I am not a morning person! Lol. Today's was mostly because I was awake as had gone to add ridiculously early last night..

Election day tomorrow and I still have no idea on who to vote for. I think I'm going to end up going for the lesser of many evils... I do get tomorrow off work though, so can lie in. Grin

Oh, honey your wankery red banana comment made me actually lol. Love it!

ThursdayLast · 06/05/2015 07:30

Morning all.

Good luck for your exam lil.

This thread is so much fun. So glad to have somewhere to discuss boob clutching and lower tummy twinges Smile. DH would think I was mental if I talked about it as much as i thought about it.

I'm v much in limbo at the mo - stopped taking the pill approx 2weeks ago. Had a period (I think. Do withdrawal bleeds feel like periods?). Was very muccusy whilst away - possible ovulation? Oh I'm such a newbie, and I can't even pretend to work it out because I haven't had a proper cycle since June 2013!

I'll just have to live vicariously through you lot

ThursdayLast · 06/05/2015 07:30

And that's wrong I mean 2012. DS can't have been conceived after he was born :/

jellypi3 · 06/05/2015 07:50

Sorry I can't answer you on the withdrawal bleed thurs but others will know :)

I'm also tempted to try soy as well as the b complex next month, so might do day 2-6 in doses of 100 a day to start off. I need la to answer my b6 questions! Or type it all up so we can store it away so when baby la appears we still have her knowledge!

I know who I'm voting for tomorrow but mostly because it's a tactical vote to keep UKIP out of my area.

5hell · 06/05/2015 08:08

thurs will depend on the individual and the pill of course, but in my exp yes, withdrawal bleed is very much just like a period, and i would count it a such from a CD/tracking pov.

honeysucklejasmine · 06/05/2015 08:22

Morning! DHs birthday today, and I'm off out to work, like a good wife Wink We're doing dinner and a movie tonight though, so that's OK!

OK, Lil, I can't help it if my nasal cavities are too narrow to breathe through! Anyway, it's much more reliable "at the source" I think Grin Best of luck today!

I sent my postal vote off. I live in a safe seat so doesn't really matter!

pretzelpieces · 06/05/2015 08:24

Good luck for your exam today lil!

ThursdayLast · 06/05/2015 08:29

Thank you both, 5hell and jelly. It certainly felt like a period, and the beautiful array of spots I have near the corners of my mouth make it clear to me that there are hormones of some kind or another flooding my system!

Cool. Probs oughta do some shagging today then Grin

CountryGal4 · 06/05/2015 09:01

I'm so bloated I look 7 months upduffed. It hurts :(

CarrotPuff · 06/05/2015 09:10

lil good luck with your exam!

Wine - nap time?

Thur when I used to take BC in the past and then stop it, my periods went back to normal straight away every time. But it's different with everyone.

Went to bed with a headache last night and it's still here Confused

maemay · 06/05/2015 09:17

Thur I came of BC in Jan (after 10 years!) -since coming off, periods have been pretty stable and regular in terms of timing, though much lighter. And very clotty for the first few cycles, and getting to be normal flow now.
Only thing is that my LP seems slightly shorter (but then I never knew how long it was before, as I wasn't measuring then!), so it could be due to BC or it could be that's just the way my body is!

LaLaLaaaa · 06/05/2015 10:12

Hello!

Sorry - been madly catch up - oh my god you guys can chat!

B complex - take 50mg every day jelly. I took it every day until I got bfp, then stopped. It's not harmful in pregnancy apparently as people are prescribed it to help with MS, but I stopped just in case. The important bit is to take the complex not just B6 as taking B6 on own can cause deficiencies in uptake of B12, which is not good for pregnancy. I did up to 100mg but it made sod all difference. Most people take 50mg. In the USA people take ridiculous amounts like 200mg which is not good for you.

Remember that lp of 9/10 isn't necessarily a bad thing - plenty of people get pg with lp of 9/10. It's just that the longer lp gives more chance for successful implantation. I managed to get mine from 10 up to about 12/13 after a few months taking b complex.

I have no experience of soy so not sure about that one but I would always try one option first to see if it works, so I would just take the b complex rather than both that and soy.

Anyone who's only just off contraception - give your cycles time to settle down before using any supplements, as your body needs time to get back into its natural rhythm.

lil good luck today lovely!

Sorry to you ladies who are struggling a wee bit - Flowers thinking of you all and sending you lots of gx.

Hi to the newbies! Lovely to see you!

FeatheredTail · 06/05/2015 10:31

Had my last potentially fertile shag of the cycle last night....with my tooth ache and both of us with sore throats/over tired. Romantic - nahhhhttt! Hmm

Promised each other our next shag will definitely be just for fun and when we are both genuinely horny.

For anyone considering it - I wouldn't bother with CB fertility monitor. I gave into temptation and peed on it last night - said I was highly fertile. But also said peak fertility was on Thursday! I'm not sure. Back to temping it is.

Out of curiosity, when is an acceptable time to POAS? My period is due Monday 18th.

jellypi3 · 06/05/2015 10:47

thanks la are these ones ok? www.boots.com/en/Seven-Seas-Essentials-Vitamin-B-Complex-with-400-g-Folic-Acid-30-One-a-Day-Capsules_637/ i can't find anywhere where it says the strength in order to take 50mg

jellypi3 · 06/05/2015 10:49

feathered POAS ideally 14DPO or when AF is late. :)

LaLaLaaaa · 06/05/2015 11:07

jelly I used the Holland and Barrett ones

feathered exactly as they said - 14dpo or when af late :)

ThursdayLast · 06/05/2015 11:13

Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences. I'm feeling positive that my cycle will have gon aback to normal - it's just been a while, and every day feels like a week doesn't it?!

CarrotPuff · 06/05/2015 11:16

feathered I would POAS on the 19th then if your periods are always bang on.

I have a new symptom - tears inducing farts Confused

FeatheredTail · 06/05/2015 11:33

I take my hat off for those who have had to endure more than their fair share of the TWOT.

Hahahaha Carrot!!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 06/05/2015 11:35

Just jumping in to wave and smile at everyone! Still very ill and really not pleased to be entertaining the bitch witch. Trying to get on with work but mostly daydreaming about holiday to NYC with DD at end of June.

Hope you all have a fabulous day Cake and Brew all around
