Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also know as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage. Self explanatory, who wouldn't?

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like Something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Congratulations gouda Smile

Star for your uterus!

CarrotPuff · 01/05/2015 15:58

I'm a strong believer that constipation is your body's way to prepare you for labour! Grin

There will be a lot of stretching going on there, try not to worry. You can also start playing "Baby wants X" card with your OH Wink

picklethistle · 01/05/2015 16:13

Congratulations gouda that's excellent news! GX this Fred is lucky lucky lucky!

LaLaLaaaa · 01/05/2015 16:25

Hi viroids!

Faint line my ARSE gouda - congratulations!!!

jelly we didnt have a theme either, we just stuck loads of stuff we liked in the wedding. We completely by accident ended up with Star Wars day as our date (my anniversary is on Monday) so we put in a few references to that for a laugh. Our tables were named after books by our favourite whimsical kids author (totally outing myself), so we put items from each of those book titles on the tables. It was fun - everyone used the items in their photos so our photos are hilarious. Other than that though I just stuck to what I liked - spring flowers because I like things to be quite natural, green BM dresses because that's my favourite colour. You'll have way too much fun to care whether there's a theme on the day.

honeysucklejasmine · 01/05/2015 16:29

Congratulations Gouda! That's amazing! Grin

So, now you live in France, and can no longer eat soft cheese or pate. Sucks to be you!

pretzelpieces · 01/05/2015 16:38

Congratulations gouda absolutely brilliant news!!! looks like a BFP to me!

nutellawithbananas · 01/05/2015 16:52

Yeah!!! A BFP!!!
Congrats gouda Grin

goodnessgraciousgouda · 01/05/2015 17:02

Thanks everyone. I'm trying to avoid getting too excited until I'm a bit further along.

Honey - Yes, and Lyon is especially known for it's food! Basically the french diet is coffee, alcohol, cheese, bread, pate/generic meat and pastries.

At least I can keep the bread...? Grin

CountryGal4 · 01/05/2015 17:32

Congrats gouda way to start the Fred strong!!

Lemondrizzletwunt · 01/05/2015 17:33

Yay Gouda congrats!!!!

Do you live in Lyon? I visit quite a lot for work...fancy meeting up late June / early July to commiserate that we can no longer smoke and drink?

justtheonethen · 01/05/2015 18:01

gouda hurrah! Great news! Well done!

niff I can see something...will eagerly await tomorrow's Sunday's stick!

Where is top?

Lookingforadvice123 · 01/05/2015 18:16

CONGRATS GOUDA!!!!!

You know I had a funny feeling you were Wink great news

And you live in France how lush, congrats on that too hehe.

So how many weeks are you calculated as? Re the anxiety I'm exactly the same, all I can think about is ectopic or more often miscarriage. Do and I are trying to just enjoy the excitement though without feeling we're jinxing it - his best friend's partner had a mc last year, then when she fell pregnant with their now 4 month old, he said up until the 20 week scan they were both nervous wrecks, which is understandable but he said himself it was a shame they missed out on all the excitement by worrying about something they couldn't change.

Easier said than done though! I'm great at giving advice to others, useless at taking it myself.

Happy Friday to everyone else, and happy bank holiday weekend!!!!!

FeatheredTail · 01/05/2015 18:30

Woooohoooo Gouda congratulations! - and thanks for all the info too!

Positive start to the goat jazz Fred or what?!

Jelly we didn't have a theme as such - our colours were very pale green and pink - and tarnished gold or old brass for things like tea light holders. We also put lots of pics of me and DH up and old skool shots of our parents. It was great.

A friend of mine had some beautiful, small cherry blossom trees in the church instead of flowers - it looked so gorgeous, natural, stylish and fitted wonderfully with an April wedding.

Nousername2015 · 01/05/2015 18:55

Congrats Gouda, and gx for the rest of us!

boddess14 · 01/05/2015 18:57

Hi ladies
Congrats gouda!! Grin

Need some advice... Since finishing AF last Saturday, I've had a fluctuating cervical position. I'm only CD 12 today but I had a semi dark opk on Wednesday. Last night I did one but after an intense parents evening (secondary English teacher) I had drank so much water I don't think it had a chance. Today it's pretty much blank!

So a couple of months ago I had a mc. The month I got pregnant before that, I iced on cd10/11. But before that I've always iced on day 14 or onwards as I'm a 28 day cycle.

So what I'm saying is: cervix is kinda puffy and high up. Definitely not tight shut. I'm a bit damp but defo no ewcm. Also the biggest sign is 3 MASSIVE spots on my chin. Do we think icing is imminent?! Or du reckon it will come next week and the darker opks were just to trick me? I really was hoping for a May Day shaggathon!!

Purpleball · 01/05/2015 18:57

Congrats Gouda Smile

Hobbit19 · 01/05/2015 18:59

Gouda!!!!!!! That's a mfbfffp!!!! I knew you were upduffed! (Knew preggo symptom, having an upduffed radar for people over the Internet what I have never met!) Try not to worry about the back ache, I had some epic (painful) uterus stretching for the first two weeks and I still appear to be upduffed.

Niff, that is defo a line, try again with fmu tomorrow Sunday. To be fair I thought I was 10dpo when I tested but think it could have been a fair bit more now.

Jelly, orange, green and trees sounds lovely, get theeself on pintrest.

Stoatystoat · 01/05/2015 19:03

Woo gouda!!! That's great.

Am holed up with DH in our serviced apartment, it's all very swish. Ventured out to Waitrose (basically living the dream life I can't afford hahaha) and now back here, me on MN, him watching the cricket.

This shagathon better work, next month is so busy and could involve trying to get up duffed while I'm in Scotland and DH in England. Erm...

justtheonethen · 01/05/2015 19:08

gx stoat sounds like heaven.

I've had a really crampy stomach today, and just had arse rain Sad. Feeling like af is coming but as I'm only 5dpo it can't be. It's too early for symptoms so I guess I'm just ill. Ugh.

Stoatystoat · 01/05/2015 19:10

Get better soon just. I had that last Bank Holiday. Rubbish, hope it passes soon.

honeysucklejasmine · 01/05/2015 19:16

Sucky Just Sad Get Well soon!

This fred is off to a good start! Keep it up ladies!

SunshinePickle · 01/05/2015 19:18

Congratulations Gouda! GX everything goes well for you. I have a feeling this Fred will continue to be lucky!

lildottie · 01/05/2015 19:42

please, my threads are always lucky just not for me !! Wink

congrats Gouda

jelly you don't need a theme, your colour can be your "theme". more a " scheme " I guess. we had navy blue as it suited my BMS for dresses and also suited venue. our table names were Hawaiian islands as that's where we went in our hm. peach and lake green sounds lush to me.
