Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also know as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage. Self explanatory, who wouldn't?

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like Something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

jelly I had a sex dream last night too. Think it was cos miroid promised me a morning shag, when I woke up I thought we already had. The shag in my dream was far better than the one I got Wink

LaLaLaaaa · 01/05/2015 08:32

Stoat day before is perfect!!! Gx for you Grin

Jcandy · 01/05/2015 08:47

I can see something in both niff........ Test with IC's if you want over the next couple of days but definitely get a superdrug or frer! My superdrug at 11dpo was so clear where the IC's I could only just see

lildottie · 01/05/2015 09:00

morning all. can't see pics cos I'm on app but gx niff

stoat icing pains can happen before during and after icing. everyone is different. I get sort of grumbly pains leading up to it then bulging ovary pain during sex on ov day. eg pos opk yesterday and day before, last night i got some twinges on left side (usually right so liking that lefty is getting a go!) and temp not up this morning. I expect to ice today. point is that you may still have a day or so, and even once its released u have 24 hrs so 4pm should be fine. if u hadn't had a shag in the last few days I'd say go for it asap, but I think u have all bases covered!

and yay for AF ain!! are you going to do any contraband or pills now AF has graced you with her presence. I thinking about doing soy isoflavones next cycle to try and get icing earlier so we get as many chances in before next ivf as possible.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 01/05/2015 09:07

Good luck Niff !!! Testing 10 dpo sounds crazy!!! When you're parents are here/, maybe have a few drinks, but no vomming? Grin

What happened with Topiary ???? She went off to get a test and then....the suspense is unresolved!!

AF didn't arrive yesterday. She could very well arrive today - I was cd27 in December, which was the longest I'd had in a year. If nothing today, I will test tomorrow.

I thought I was going to come on yesterday as my back started hurting, but then it just stopped after about five minutes.

Happy bank holiday everyone!!

jellypi3 · 01/05/2015 09:08

who was it that was going to start soy? was it aux? I think I will get started on the b6 complex next cycle lil. Especially as my LP went backwards this cycle. Will obviously see what happens at docs first.

I'll need all your wisdom la if i do start b6 :)

jellypi3 · 01/05/2015 09:10

gouda how many dpo are you? well done on the restraint Wink i've not tested since AF came back in October, because everytime i get close to thinking i'll test the witch shows up!!

goodnessgraciousgouda · 01/05/2015 09:50

jelly to be honest, I'm not even sure.

If my fertility app is right then I am 16 dpo, but it could be less than that if I ovulated a bit later obviously.

I thought if I didn't test until much later this month, then maybe it wouldn't "curse" it. I know, weird.

I can just see myself coming on tomorrow morning when I get back from the chemist with the test... Hmm

WouldRatherHaveWine · 01/05/2015 09:52

CD 4 and the witch is backing away. I want to just get started now, this is the cycle we start but I don't feel we are TTC until we get shagging!

la did you see the one about the kids stolen toy?! I'd be so pissed!

gouda well done you, I'd be pissing on everything including the toothpaste by now

fallenstar27 · 01/05/2015 09:59

Yay ain!

niff I see something, so gx for you over the next few days.

I'm another one with a secret pinterest board, and ever-growing list of names who's being sensible and not thinking too far ahead honey...

stoat I saw you on the Barbara thread, my dh has pretty much vetoed my favour name too!

cd10 and I still haven't had a shag, shaved my legs for nothing! My own fault though, fell asleep watching a movie.

CarrotPuff · 01/05/2015 10:07

Morning viroids!

Yay for AF Ain! I hope she doesn't disappear for so long again (unless you get a bfp of course!)

Niff I can see something on both pics. Hooyah for testing so early though, POAS tomorrow wait a few more days.

lil do you get ovary pains during sex ON the icing day? Hmm, I might have iced earlier than I thought then...

gouda it sounds vv promising, I hope you have enough stuff to keep you busy today!

I wonder where has Top disappeared too. Also mae, has AF entered the building properly yet?

jellypi3 · 01/05/2015 10:32

ok i need help ladies! wedding related stuff!

we need a theme for our wedding and a color scheme. I am wracking my brain thinking of a theme. We wanted something that related to us both but we are really struggling. We did play with the idea of a GOT themed wedding but i think it'll be cheesy. i'm liking tree's as a theme, but again not sure how to pull it off, as we will be married in the spring. also colors, any ideas? dp's fav color is orange and mine is green so i dont think they go

Stoatystoat · 01/05/2015 10:37

Thankyou lil that's really helpful. I should hooya myself for worrying too much really.

fallen I may be able to twist his arm but we will see. He is much more conventional than me. We also are complicated as have different last names and don't know what we would do so different ones go with each name rather than either. I think we would choose the one that sounds nicest. I always find it funny seeing viroids on other boards, like I am surprised!

I finish work in a couple of hours, hurry up! Meeting DH on the train and he has our luggage. He doesn't know what he has in there haha.

honeysucklejasmine · 01/05/2015 10:38

Ha ha ha! In my defence... DH is not good at crisis management. He goes quiet and says nothing. I think I'd want a friend there who knows what's supposed to happen and can keep him focussed and happy. Or he might freak out and sit silently in the corner, bless him. I mentioned it to him and he named the same person I was thinking of, so who knows! I think it might happen!

I am on CD5. Witch has left the building right on time, so should be icing in 9 days time.

honeysucklejasmine · 01/05/2015 10:39

Jelly mine was a spring g wedding. Bridesmaid in green, yellow flowers, snuck a few orangey ones in there too. Will change my profile PUC on Facebook so you can see.

Niffertiti · 01/05/2015 10:42

Jelly, I had no theme, no bridesmaids, no colours, just some sparkly bits. Supermarket flowers. Admittedly we had an Xmas wedding with 20 guests organised in 6 weeks so opportunities to obsess over themes were limited. I recommend paying no attention, not trying too hard, never reading any wedding magazines or looking at anyone else's perfect photos. You don't need it, it won't make any difference. You'll have a great time if there is a) food b) booze and c) people you love. Any more than that is added stress. I got vv stressed over it before we thought fuck it, let's just do it. Grin

Stoatystoat · 01/05/2015 10:43

jelly I'm not sure what to suggest. IMHO, I don't think a whole theme is necessary, just nods to stuff you like really. A colour scheme helps pull things together. I tend to think if you have BMs, deciding on the colour for them and then going from there is a good starting point. After all, colours look nice on some people/dresses but not others, whereas anything else that would have the colour doesn't have that same issue.

The only thing that was a bit themed on ours was our table plan -tables were named for different Simpsons characters as it is DH favourite TV programme. No other simpsons references though! We weren't the Marge & Homer couple.

MyBlackCat · 01/05/2015 10:44

jelly the tables at my wedding were named after family cats totally not a mad cat lady honest the top table was named after my very own furbaby who is fast asleep on my lap now hope I haven't outed myself

Niffertiti · 01/05/2015 10:46

Gouda 16dpo!!! POAMFFRER!

SockQueen · 01/05/2015 10:47

Hurray for AF Ain! Also hurray for nice sex. And lil's functional sex.

Jelly I didn't really have a "theme," beyond getting married in a lovely location and having fun. Our colour was purple, but it wasn't everywhere. I think with spring weddings you can have a nice palate of pastels and don't have to have everything matchy-matchy. I was a bridesmaid a couple of weeks ago, our dresses were light blue, invitations etc light green and our flowers were a range of spring colours, it all worked really nicely.

fallenstar27 · 01/05/2015 10:50

We got married abroad, so our tables were named after countries we had travelled to, and our colours were red and a touch of blue (think airmail envelopes, not union jacks).

Not exactly unique but spring and pastels go lovely, then you could have peach and mint?

pretzelpieces · 01/05/2015 10:54

Ugh lil how crap of her to be insensitive like that! Angry

ain hooray for AF!!

sunshine that's great you are so close with mil. My partner has high functioning aspergers too, incidentally.

niff how exciting. GX you get a bfp in a few days!

gouda same to you!! GX for bfp!!

topiary where are youuu poas

goodnessgraciousgouda · 01/05/2015 10:55

Jelly - Another one who didn't really have a theme per se. We had our wedding colours, but that was about it. I think when people pick a "theme" it can get a bit obsessive thinking of new ways to incorporate it, and in the end it's easy to go very totally overboard.

Orange and green can go okay together (you have to get the shades right though) but you will need a third colour to pull them together. White would work well, and if you add pale yellow as well, you get basically a spring bouquet, which would work well.

We just had numbers for our tables!

goodnessgraciousgouda · 01/05/2015 10:57

Niff - Unfortunately they don't have First Response in France. I must have been into every fucking chemist in Lyon!

It's clear blue digital here normally, which are shit, or brands I have never heard of. There doesn't seem to be the same concept of super early testing brands though.
