So sorry I can't catch up. Baby really, really poorly here
Lucie, here are my embryo details: 9 eggs were retrieved from the (very young, very fecund) 24 year-old donor. Seven were mature and six fertilised and became 'good-looking embryos' (their words).
Day 2: five embryos remained: 1 x 5 cell, 2 x 4, 1 x 3, 1 x 2.
Day 3: 4 embryos remained: 1 x 10, 1 x 9, 1 x 8, 1 x 7 (we were told yesterday's 3-cell had died)
Day 4: 4 embryos remained: 2 x compacted morula, 2 x 9 cell (we were told that yesterday's 9- and 7-cell embryos were dividing abnormally and so they stopped their development.
Day 5: The 2 x 9-cell embryos have been stopped due to abnormal development and we are left with 2 x hatching blastocysts of AA (the best) quality
Looking back at day 1, it was the 2 x 4 cell embryos that made it to ET - one of them being Nancypants!
