Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also know as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage. Self explanatory, who wouldn't?

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like Something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Morning. The witch is being a right cow today, I am feeling very nauseous. Had to cancel my aqua class... Annoying as because of the time it's at, I can't give enough notice to cancel for free. Oh well, not worth the risk of barfing in the pool.

Am working later so guess I need to crawl out of bed at some point but I don't want to. Not working till 12.30 so have a while yet.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 28/04/2015 09:21

Morning viroids,

Hooyad myself today. I am due on tomorrow, and decided NOT to test today. It's a bit depressing the mind games we play, but in the past it's like I take a test, and then when it's negative I always get AF very shortly after. Of course, this is probably because I always take the test just before I am due (duh!!!). But in my head it's like I get the period BECAUSE I take the test, so my body is like "aaaaaaaaaand...No can't be arsed".

I keep telling myself that it's in the hands of God/fate/basically anyone but me, and to just relax but it's hard.

lil - that sounds like quite a lot of work on the house. Will you be living in it whilst the work is on going? How will you manage without a kitchen????? Do you have an estimated time frame for the work? A very close friend of mine recently moved out whilst her house was being done up. It took TWICE the time the builders had told her!!!

I've always quite fancied the idea of buying a house in need of a serious upgrade, doing it up and selling it on for a significant profit Grin Unfortunately I think I would get bored half way through. Also, there's no way in hell I can afford a house.

Although frankly, I think an easier way to make your millions is to just become a builder in London. The demand far outstrips the need for ..say, quality!

Feathered - good idea for the bank holiday shagathon!! It's good that you don't have anything planned for the weekend. Excellent idea to use the OK sticks to check if your period app is telling you that you are ov on the right days. This has actually been a source of worry for me recently too!

Stoatystoat · 28/04/2015 09:31

feathered think you might be in sync with me. GO GO GO!!! But I am covering all bases (26 up to 32 day cycle - my period was short this month but long the previous). I will be breaking my DH over the next fortnight!

FeatheredTail · 28/04/2015 09:51

Stoat HOORAY I have a cycle buddy!

Our only plans this weekend are a fancy dinner on Saturday night, a nice country walk or two and a whole lot of shagging. DH is either going to be delighted or overwhelmed.

Which days are you planning to DTD - ED or EOD?

Dusts off cape. Twirls seductively

FeatheredTail · 28/04/2015 09:53

Gouda as a fellow control freak viroid who finds it hard to just relax, I feel your pain. Do you have any PMT symptoms?

Stoatystoat · 28/04/2015 10:25

We have zero plans as yet, similar to you. Will see what we can manage I think re: EOD/ED. If we manage EOD then that would be good, any more is a bonus.

I'm drinking a lot of water as I'm scared cystitis is going to pay me a visit.

Apparently the conceive plus I ordered has arrived.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 28/04/2015 10:27

feathered - To be honest, I have no idea. I can't think of any symptoms which are out of the norm for me.

I know I have been feeling a bit under the weather recently, and had a bit of cramping the last couple of days, but no AF just yet. Bit of cm at the moment, which is unusual this close to AF, but it's not much to bank on. Just trying to mentally prepare for the probability of AF tomorrow. We only have a couple more months of trying, then after that we will be living apart for a few months due to work.

Feeling a bit despondent

Stoatystoat · 28/04/2015 10:34

goodness gx for a productive next couple of months. That's rubbish. I only have a couple of months where conception will allow even a short maternity leave. The baby that miscarried would have allowed me a fairly decent leave and a job to come back to for a bit. After that I will be redundant or job hunting at the end of my pregnancy or soon after...

COME ON SWIMMERS!!!!

goodnessgraciousgouda · 28/04/2015 10:44

God it's so stressful isn't it.

Firstly there's the stress of actually getting pregnant, then there's the paranoia of actually staying pregnant, then there's all the potential problems you can encounter along the way....

It never ceases to amaze me how our species has managed to survive so long.

FeatheredTail · 28/04/2015 11:24

Stoat also scared cystitis will come and get me after this weekend. I've got some antibiotics on standby but don't really want to take them. I'm really good at drinking lots of water at work, but I seem to replace it with gin fall off the wagon at the weekend.

I also ordered some conceive plus and gave it a trial this weekend. Nice! Although wasn't particularly conducive to wild shagging, with me bellowing to DH "WATCH HOW MUCH YOU SQUEEZE OUT OF THE TUBE - THAT WAS THIRTEEN BLOODY QUID AND MY EGGS AREN'T EVEN COOKED YET".

Gouda Stoat I hadn't realised that timing was such an issue for you both. That sucks. I really feel for you. Gingers are firmly crossed you won't need another few months of being on icing watch. Thinking positive BFP thoughts.

5hell · 28/04/2015 11:25

gouda that's what give me hope...despite all the now apparent hurdles billions of women do yield off spring and have done for yonks, so fingers crossed we can all join them.

I'm sure the stress of many peoples modern lives cant help...I know life would have been stressful across the ages, but I cant help feel that our jobs, awareness of global issues, desire for the ideal life etc adds extra pressure

Lookingforadvice123 · 28/04/2015 12:58

Congrats on the house lil! I hope it hasn't been too stressful.

pud I'm feeling good thanks despite getting very little sleep due to excitement! Off to the docs to get my "pregnancy pack" after work, then I'll be off to my first spin class as a preggo! Must take it easy. I told my friend who's travelling about the BFP and she's very excited to (hopefully) be an auntie Smile

gouda I hope af stays away for you. Keep us posted x

MyBlackCat · 28/04/2015 13:41

Feathered stoat I will be joining you on a bank holiday shagathon. After the appendicitis saga of the weekend DH has now self diagnosed a pulled muscle and is claiming he is not quite shag fit just yet! I'm hoping for a wed, fri, sat, sun, mon effort but may have to settle for a wed, fri, sun. Anticipated icing is sat/sun, although this month I am contraband free so who knows! Good luck Grin

CountryGal4 · 28/04/2015 14:18

5hell · 28/04/2015 15:33

can you even buy a chicken with giblets anymore? we always used to give them to the cats as a treat. I fear knowledge of giblets may mark one out as OLD! :(
