Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also know as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage. Self explanatory, who wouldn't?

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like Something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

You totally have to break out the pissy sticks

pretzelpieces · 25/04/2015 02:29

Sorry am so late to the fred!

Name: pretzel
Age: 31 (eek)
DC: Not yet
TTC: April 2015 - next cycle, AF due imminently!

justtheonethen · 25/04/2015 04:10

Anyone feel ethel is going to have the shortest cameo on the thread?

justtheonethen · 25/04/2015 04:15

lil how sad. Your poor mum.

Whoever was asking about poas, we never mostly pee early.

I'm not sure if I've iced or not, too much spunk to assess ewcm accurately, painful ovary thing during sex last night which usually suggests it, negative opks but might have missed surge. Argh knew I should have bought the clearblue opks again. Damn my casual cheap attitude this month

auxiliaryauroch · 25/04/2015 06:26

Oh crap lil. Not nice for your mum, not nice for your sibs. Not nice for you either. Somewhat relevant thought Some time back I was musing on how it is that you go through stages with your peers. There's the stage when people get married, the one where everyone has a kid, then the one when people start getting divorced. It's weird cos I consider "divorce" to belong to my parents' generation and here it is around my friends. Hmm I'm so far behind them all in the baby stakes that I guess evening it out I'll be getting divorced in twenty odd years at 60 or summat. Better start investing in clandestine retirement properties! Blush

auxiliaryauroch · 25/04/2015 06:28

no one would kick you off a bus stoat. Or off a "jus" as autocorrect so kindly decided was the appropriate word in this case. Hmm
On one of the buses two people got bfps this month by only shafting twice throughout the entire month!

auxiliaryauroch · 25/04/2015 06:39

Shafting? shafting? Oh dear god! Shagging. Shafting is a wee bit aggressive.

auxiliaryauroch · 25/04/2015 06:46

ethel I think you ought to poas. Even viroids consider 16dpo fair game.

auxiliaryauroch · 25/04/2015 06:47

dtd again last night on advice of an opk. Cuntraband wisdom.

honeysucklejasmine · 25/04/2015 07:15

Fluffy although it's not officially a rule, a huge number of us have cats. When it's quiet we talk about them, and every now and again we post photos. Jelly even goes to cat-lady meet ups, as she has unusual moggies. La has a famous cat. Someone has another pet that thinks it's a cat, hence pseudo cat.

Ethel welcome! 16dpo? As officially late and past 15dpo, you have official JSer permission to POAS. Soon as you like please. Wink

honeysucklejasmine · 25/04/2015 07:16

LOL at "shafting"! Sounds a tad uncomfortable!

Stoatystoat · 25/04/2015 07:23

Definitely don't want shafting! Unless it means to play Shaft while DTD....

lildottie · 25/04/2015 07:59

so true

CountryGal4 · 25/04/2015 08:26

shuffles in and sits down with a cup of tea waiting for ethel to poas

Tum te tum tum

CountryGal4 · 25/04/2015 08:44

I am getting my ass kicked by hayfever. Anyone have any thoughts re conception + antihistamines? Or even the effects of hayfever on the body it's self???

lildottie · 25/04/2015 08:55

not a clue country and not a sufferer. but I consulted Dr goofle for you and he says this

been a while since we saw Dr Goofle and his bow tie doubt any of you remember that in here

LaLaLaaaa · 25/04/2015 08:55

Morning!

Lil in so sorry to hear about your mum that's rotten :( is she ok?

pseudocats are dogs :) I debated making new column for dog but as we are such a cat obsessed bunch I figured dogs could be more cats rather that a cat being more dog for once. Perfect sense in my head!

Welcome Ethel and poamfs!

CountryGal4 · 25/04/2015 09:02

Inconclusive then lil. I wouldn't take them if I was gp just wondered whether it would hinder conception. Or help my body ignore pollen and get on with what it -bloody- should be doind

Hobbit19 · 25/04/2015 09:04

Not sure Country, I have a degree in immunology but it was a long time ago, this is what a vaguely remember though: You immune system is essentially overreacting, it is detecting pollen (which is harmless) and treating it as a harmful pathogen. One of the ways it does this is by releasing histamine. This is a chemical that signals other parts of the immune system to react. The runny nose/sneezing/itchy eyes are all because your immune system is going totally unneccesarily mental. The antihistamines counteract the histamine, prevent the immune response from happening. As far as I know this has no affect on ttc, and if you get upduffed you may find the hayfever settles due to your immune system winding down. or something a little bit like that, I can't remember much from my degree!

P.s. Country, maybe ask your pharmacist?

CountryGal4 · 25/04/2015 09:08

pud you clever bod. Could haywire immune system hinder ov and conception??

WouldRatherHaveWine · 25/04/2015 09:08

Country I was prescribed anti h's by the consultant when pregnant, she said the safest one was the one beginning with C, basically Piriton. I'm. Not attempting to spell the drug name. It's too early

CountryGal4 · 25/04/2015 09:09

:O that would out me as Ttc

CountryGal4 · 25/04/2015 09:09

Citrizine me thinks
