Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also know as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage. Self explanatory, who wouldn't?

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like Something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Really sorry to read about your friend and her sister Looking. Can't imagine how dreadful it must feel.

CarrotPuff · 24/04/2015 13:16

Welcome bod!

Looking that's so tragic... Sad

Lookingforadvice123 · 24/04/2015 14:03

It's awful isn't it, does put things in perspective and makes you grateful for what you have.

Sorry your appointment wasn't more insightful sock, it must be really frustrating xx

CarrotPuff · 24/04/2015 14:29

Just remembered a picture I've seen on one of the threads...

CountryGal4 · 24/04/2015 14:46

Carrot that is hilarious!!!

honeysucklejasmine · 24/04/2015 15:28

Eugh, Carrot how depressingly accurate is that?! Sad Wink

Felt some twinges today. Will ignore. I am tired and not due till Tuesday so can do fuck all about it.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 24/04/2015 16:07

Carrot that's genius!!!!

On my side - nothing.

Still another five days before I'm due. It feels like it should be less than that by now!!!

honeysucklejasmine · 24/04/2015 16:25

Jelly I miss you! Silly you going on holiday. Rubbish! I have my gx for you too!

CarrotPuff · 24/04/2015 16:50

justtheonethen · 24/04/2015 18:07

Forgot jelly was away, was missing her too!

looking that's horrible, poor them.

sock at least things are moving forward even if you didn't get any answers today.

I'm still getting negative opks but normally ice by now. Maybe I missed the surge? I'll keep shagging testing anyway. I've permanently got 4dpo face

justtheonethen · 24/04/2015 18:08

Welcome bod ^waves^

Lemondrizzletwunt · 24/04/2015 18:20

Hi Bod Smile

boddess14 · 24/04/2015 18:22

Thanks for the kind welcome guys.

Having a v down day today. Had my first af after miscarriage which I guess should be a good thing. This is my first day coming out of af. My sister is 20 weeks and just sent me the photo of her scan. It's a stunningly beautiful little girl. Just perfect to go with her little boy. We had planned to get pregnant together. I'm just devastated. This feeling can't last forever right? It could just be the couple of glasses of martini Rosso I've consumed because it was in the bargain bin at waitrose... Haha. Xx

Lemondrizzletwunt · 24/04/2015 18:30

Looking there are no words for how shit that must be, there really aren't.

Please don't answer if you'd rather not, but do you know why it happened? Were they given a reason? This isn't meant insensitively at all, I just know it's incredibly rare, and they must be heartbroken. I wondered if anyone had been able to help in some small way by offering an explanation.

justtheonethen · 24/04/2015 18:38

bod must be totally shit. Drink all the booze, I would Flowers

Hobbit19 · 24/04/2015 19:06

Love a martini bod, go for it, it's hardly alcoholic at all but it turns out that if you drink the whole bottle you get quite drunk. Sorry to hear about your mc, you will find plenty of support here.

mae, (think it is you going away?) leave the pissy sticks at home for sure, then you have something to look forward to on your return Smile

MyBlackCat · 24/04/2015 19:19

Welcome bod

looking I can't imagine what your friend is going through, losing a baby at 10 weeks was horrific enough, I once read something about MC that whilst you never met the little one it's the hope and dreams you had for them and you with them in your life, I thought that described the grieving that i was going through well, but the hopes and dreams you have at 34 weeks must be something else..

Must admit I'm feeling a bit down this week, not really ttc related although that is always at the back of my mind. Work is pretty demoralising and I'm struggling with it, questioning whether I'm the right person for my job. I'm consoling myself with chocolate orange - at least it's one of my five a day Wink

Lookingforadvice123 · 24/04/2015 19:25

I dont want to say too much to respect the family's privacy, but there have been a couple of issues throughout, although no indication of physical problems. So it was s complete shock. So sad for them. It's unimaginable.

On a positive note I didn't even think of buying any pg tests! So no early poas for me. I imagine af will come before anyway.

Stoatystoat · 24/04/2015 19:56

Welcome bod. I'm sorry about your mc, especially as you wanted to be pg with your sister, that would have been lovely. There will be other lovely times though, just different lovely times. It is shit. I'm just finishing my second period post mc, it was more upsetting than the first. The first I felt smug that my body was working and the factory open for business, my second period followed us TTC again. I wanted a cousin for my nephew...my sister's SIL seems to be adept at doing that, she is currently pregnant. These feelings do pass, but could you be a love and share the martini Wine

I'm sorry about your friends news looking

Some of you might remember that I have had a series of nice moments this week in relation to my mc, some real sources of comfort. I had another one today, I was walking through town and a busker was playing 'Days', it made me so happy thinking of my baby and that time in my life of fleeting happiness. Lovely song.

honeysucklejasmine · 24/04/2015 20:20

Evening all. Stoat that's a lovely moment. Smile

My arm hurts. It seems to hurt almost constantly these days all down my forearm. Ah, the joys of being me!

Masterchef final tonight!

boddess14 · 24/04/2015 20:21

Thanks guys for ur kind words. My lovely husband is home now and I really wish I could just be grateful for what I've got in the world. Feel guilty when I text my best friend for a winge and she is still hunting for her first love! We forget how lucky we are to have loving partners who put up with us crying when they get home from work then wanting to have rampant sex for the rest of the month! Haha. Xx

Stoatystoat · 24/04/2015 20:28

I hear you boddess. Before TTC I think I'd have been genuinely happy just me and DH. Now, not a chance. I also have a friend in your friends boat as well.

I was supposed to order my fertility monitor this week, I'm on day 5 of my cycle. It's going to be too late to start testing if it arrives Sunday/Monday isn't it? Bugger.

gaggiagirl · 24/04/2015 20:46

Think you're supposed to start the fertility monitor on cd1 stoat. Hope you are all ok.

MyBlackCat · 24/04/2015 20:48

stoat if it's the advanced CBFM then you need to start it on one of the first 4 days of your cycle - first month you test from cd6, because my friend Iovulated late in her my cycle (cd16/17) it changed to needing sticks from cd9. You could always lie to it??

honeysucklejasmine · 24/04/2015 20:49

We need some more bfps in here! Who's testing soon?!

Masterchef! Go Simon, Go!
