Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also know as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage. Self explanatory, who wouldn't?

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like Something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Lil that's brilliant news that you'd have the option of next month if you wanted - sounds like a good health authority in your neck of the woods. Cheers! Wine

seafoodeatit · 21/04/2015 18:33

lil hopefully this or the next cycle does the trick

I wish it was a typo, it's gotten to the point where it feels like it'll never happen.

I need to lose weight, I don't know why it's so hard, my FS is of the opinion that if I really wanted to fall pregnant I would have lost the weight already.

Very few people know we're ttc - my mum and sis and one of DH's closest friends who told us they were ttc and DH told him we were too, they fell pregnant after 2/3 months and now have a 7 month old, thankfully they've stopped asking how ttc is going!

WouldRatherHaveWine · 21/04/2015 18:42

sea what's a FS?!

maemay · 21/04/2015 18:42

Lil great news that you can try again! Every single finger crosse for you!

waves at Sea -welcome!

5hell and any others in limbo Flowers

Feather we have told a few people IRL that we are TTC. My sis (who is a current JS grad), both mums, and my prayer-partner at church.
We've phrased it as "we've stopped trying not to, and we're going to see what happens" which I hope will mean they are aware but won't pressure is about it all the time.
However, Granny-in-law is doing the typical thing of dropping hints about wanting to see grandchildren before she passes on.

Dinner tonight is risotto ...bacon, prawns, peppers, peas, chilli, onions, garlic. Nom! And quite possibly some icecream to round it off :)

DH was meant to be out tonight but not feeling well so cancelled his plans. So that means my Netflix girly-film-night-on-my-own plans are scuppered!

WouldRatherHaveWine · 21/04/2015 18:59

DP is cooking steak and dolphin nose potatoes. Nom.

I've not been feeling well so currently huddled under a blanket watching DS empty my handbag. He's quite the dare devil today so we've had lots of tears due to various bumps and bangs. Dread to think what it will be like when he's walking properly

seafoodeatit · 21/04/2015 19:10

Fertility Specialist/reproductive medicine person - but in reality he's just the most insensitive person I've ever met.

Dinner sounds wonderful mae & would

would try and convince him to go to bed early!

fallenstar27 · 21/04/2015 19:14

mae I've worded it the same way to two very close friends so they don't ask, but it's nice to chat about every so often.

That's good lil

The Nigella lasagne is in the oven, but it has boiled egg, ham and no white sauce. I'm sceptical. Have frozen pizza on standby.

Hobbit19 · 21/04/2015 19:18

5hell, that's awful hun, can't believe you are still in limbo. There are not enough Flowers in the world for you. Sad

Lil, that sounds positive, I'm really pleased for you. Everything is crossed.

Who on earth are these people who can buy houses for 4.5 mil?! Seriously, what do they do for a job? Would not buy a house like that though as I couldn't be arsed to clean it all and I would lose the cats!! Smile

Welcome Eatit

Wrt eating and drinking in the TWW, I would go for it. With my epic IB I thought AF was coming and had two glasses of champagne prosecco to celebrate a friend's graduation. Turned out I was upduffed. Oh well, at least Christmas Pud will have good taste!

OP posts:
maemay · 21/04/2015 19:34

Pud if I could afford a house like that, I would pay someone else to clean it!

Sometimes I wonder what I would do if I won £1million. I think I would buy a house (probably not an extravagant one though), and buy my sis a house.
Then go for a month-long holiday in the Maldives! (And save the rest for pension/kids whichever comes first)

picklethistle · 21/04/2015 19:56

Evening all! Iv said that we are trying to two of my close girlfriends but no one else also don't want the pressure. Mum keeps telling me to finish the house before babies but that could take another year and I don't want to wait.

Dinner was yum, now drinking wine and eating chocolate...not quite entered the tww so why not! Wink

seafoodeatit · 21/04/2015 19:58

Drinking a healthy amount in the TWW is fine and sometimes necessary to counter the stress!, baby isn't affected, from what I know in the early weeks baby gets nutrients from your bodies' stores rather than what you're eating.

gaggiagirl · 21/04/2015 20:26

5hell

WouldRatherHaveWine · 21/04/2015 20:28

OMG sea!!! I can understand if they tactfully said losing weight could help, but saying that is just plain cruel. I'd be so mad!

justtheonethen · 21/04/2015 21:08

5hell Flowers

Great news lil that you could potentially go for it so soon.

We had Jamie's pork goulash, I made it at the weekend and froze it. Delicious.

Feeling Sad as the miroid has failed to jizz the last two days, so frustrating! I'll never get pregnant at this rate. Wouldn't mind all the sex if I was dripping in spunk but it's exhausting and pointless.
Sulking in bed eating chocolate.

Eating and drinking as normal is fine, placenta doesn't take over until 5wks, there is obviously an effect on fertility if either of you drink heavily and some evidence that it could affect implantation. I personally can't spend two weeks of every month acting pg then being crushed when i'm not. Personal choice though.

justtheonethen · 21/04/2015 21:11

By the way la i love hearing about grads babies, gives me hope. I also think its important to discuss mc, let's all stop apologising.

Hobbit19 · 21/04/2015 21:15

Fallen, how was the lasagne? it sounded rancid. No cheese sauce on lasagne? WTF? !

OP posts:
Stoatystoat · 21/04/2015 21:42

Sorry everyone, I've eaten all the biscuits in the world today. ARGH!!

5hell I'm sorry you are in limbo still. I had this with my MC, three weeks of it, the last one was definitely the worst. I really feel for you

lil glad you have a way of moving forward

Everyone knows we are TTC now I think, the mc has outed me as I've been very public about it. I needed people's support with the mc and I need some friend's support TTCing again following mc. We hadn't told anyone before that. I don't care for the taboo of mc, each to their own (fine to be private if that's happened and you want to be private, but people shouldn't feel they have to keep MC secret) so I kind of feel I should mouth off about it

I had a bit of a woo moment today. I was having a picnic in the park with DSis and my nephew. I saw a feather come by and I felt this really strong sense of my baby ( I know I was in a park and that feather obviously in it's normal habitat) but it felt like we were all there together, my sister and I with our babies. It was really nice. I've just been reading about feathers and symbolism of them, found a really shitty site with a lovely interpretation that the feather is beautiful and important but that when it falls off, the bird still flies in the sky and the feather is still floating around...it had me in floods of tears!

Lookingforadvice123 · 21/04/2015 21:48

Argh sorry I'm rubbish on this thread, I turn round and there's so many new posts!

5hell so sorry to hear your situation. I hope you're getting the support you need.

Hobbit19 · 21/04/2015 21:53

Stoat, that is lovely that you had that moment with your Sis. I am into all that kind of shenanigans, I have a thing about Robins being a good sign for me. They always seem to pop up at important moments. Saw one the first day that I really thought I was upduffed too. Holding on to that in moments of 'will this bean be sticky' panic.

lildottie · 21/04/2015 21:59

phoned my mum to update her on hospital appt why did i tell her we were going through ivf and she said that as we can choose when we do the next round we can make sure it's not a christmas baby!! Shock
She was like "well even when you're trying normally you take these things into account" I couldn't believe it. I replied "you tend not to give a shit about the due date when you've been trying for 2.5 years!" I think she realised she'd put her foot in it but still didn't back down or apologise! Clearly her maths are screwed as we aren't likely to delay for another 12 months! We're thinking about going again in August which would be a May baby - we have SO many birthday's in May that would annoy her as much as Christmas!!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 21/04/2015 22:09

Hugs to 5hell and stoat

Lil may I suggest a manger for future minilil no matter what time if year it is? Jesus is a great name, too. Grin

justtheonethen · 21/04/2015 22:24

Jizz Grin

lildottie · 21/04/2015 22:49

Grin sky maybe with tinsel on it!

just that was a quick turn of events! glad you got the goods! sending good vibes to your egg to get on with it now whilst you've got the good stuff in there!

stoat what a lovely moment. I'm glad you found some peace in it. I have found great comfort in having my necklace. small things can make s big difference eh.

pud I love that minipud is being referred to as Christmas pudding! be glad you don't have my mother! actually on the Christmas day edd thing I meant to say my cousin has that bday and when he was a kid his parents did a birthday in August for him. I didn't know his real bday was Christmas day until I was about 20!!

daisy how R U doing chick?

5hell hope ur OK.

daisyspice · 21/04/2015 23:10

Great news about the apt lil!!

Really envious of all these domestic goddess viroids cooking homemade meals Wink I'm not very imaginative

5shell big hugs love the waiting is actual mental torture I shall never complain about a tww again!!

Had a wee trip to a&e with abdo pain so good news is that my tubes are still in one piece no signs of ectopic but can't completely rule it out so more bloods tomorrow and potentially methotrexate so hoping the waiting ends tomorrow Hmm

daisyspice · 21/04/2015 23:17

Also fun fact for the evening it's a lot easier to see ur right ovary on a scan, as the left is hidden under bowel and what not....which would explain why I almost done a Pavarotti when she was tying to find mine Smile

I'm sure u all probably knew that, I didn't and I have the cheek to call myself a health professional Shock
