Oh tori how tiring! DS feeds for about an hour at a time and that was tiring enough, especially at night! I'm very Envy jealous that you've lost weight! Bf makes me ravenous! I've been eating so badly - a pack if biscuits every night last week Blush
Cupcake that's so cute about DS1 loving his new bed! I hope your cat's ok Flowers
Ducky I'm glad your DS is enjoying his food!

Ducky23 · 03/06/2015 08:34

How's the cat cupcake?

Tori do you think your husband had any idea what you were up to? I think dm doesn't but there have been a few slip ups recently which means she got a tiny bit suspicious for a couple of days.

Lil, he loves it! But it doesn't seem to fill him up at all! Shock And this morning his nappy was full of chunky bits of carrots Shock

That's something I'm not looking forward to when DS is on solids Ducky - gross nappies! DP is squeamish enough about changing DS now Hmm
The health visitor came yesterday and said DS is healthy and growing well. Smile we've been going to lots of mum and baby groups and he's being really smiley Smile He's still waking up 3 times in the night but isn't up for so long each time.

Cupcake92 · 03/06/2015 09:31

Ducky don't worry I bet she'll love it! :) such a nice thing of u to do for her!

Tori it must be exhausting feeding so long! I'm worried about that as I know I'll end up giving up and moving onto formula but I rele don't wanna do that!

Cat is fine! :) said it must have been a hair ball he had. He's okay now and looks fine etc. :)

Cupcake92 · 03/06/2015 09:33

Lill good news about the health visitor! :) always nice to hear ur baby is growing well! :)

My message vanished!

Lil, glad that ds is growing well. How heavy now?

Cupcake, great news that the cat is better. It's so hard with animals isn't it! Vets are so expensive nowadays!

Tori, I'm not in that area. But I have all made up images of you all in my head Smile

Right, didn't want to start a thread on this incase I get flamed so I wanted to ask your opinion on something.

During the day ds currently has 7oz bottles every 3 hours, he is now also having 3 meals a day and manages to get a lot in him! Shock (He just wolfed down spaghetti bolognaise!) he has his last bottle around 10/10.30 then he will wake around 4am (ish) for a feed and then will usually go another hour or so before waking up having breakfast at around 7am (usually weetabix with 2oz of milk) and then having a full bottle around 20/30mins after.

The HV was speaking to me about weaning today and she thinks that instead of a 4am feed I should give him water instead of milk. She said most babies his age are going 7-7 now.

I don't know what to do now. What does everyone think?

OP posts:
Cupcake92 · 03/06/2015 19:05

Tori that sounds good. I don't rele see any other mommies at all! All my
Friends disappeared when I got pregnant. I have one friend and she is expecting her 3rd child now so is very busy as u can imagine Grin

Ducky.... My DS was doing very similar? Confused and trust me a lot of babies don't sleep through till 2 years old some of them!
I tried water but DS hated it, I used some baby juice watered down instead and he preferred that, but I found he wouldn't go back to sleep if he didn't have milk in the night. At 7 months old DS was having weetabix and then a 4oz bottle (it was 6 but was told I had to cut it to 4!) then have a nap. then he'd have lunch at 11:30 and a bottle an hour after (4oz) then have a nap :)
I can't remember if he'd have an afternoon one before dinner? But he'd have dinner then a bottle after his bath and when he was ready for bed. (Then sometimes porridge at about 10 to help him sleep)
It says once weaning they need 21oz a day of milk :) as milk is the main source of nutrition till they are 1 still.

Hope that helps Ducky! :)

LuluJakey1 · 03/06/2015 19:24

Cupcake, I am so relieved about your cat. It didn't sound like a hairball. Thank goodness he is OK!

I have been to Richmond today to meet MIL for lunch and a walk. She just loves DS who behaved beautifully.

Cupcake92 · 03/06/2015 20:32

I'm relieved too Lulu! Glad he wasn't sick tho or worse :) he's absolutely fine now as if nothing had been wrong. Ur DS seems to be a very well behaved boy most of the time Lulu! :)

I don't know what's up with me today! I'm so stressed and getting easily annoyed! Someone is playing loud music from their car and I just want to go and punch them in the face and tell them to shut that racket up!
Also i don't get why people have to be so bitchy too, all on Facebook its bitch bitch bitch. All girls saying things, men never seem to bitch lol going away for the weekend with my mom to Whitby which I'm looking forward too. I need the break Grin

Cupcake, DS wasn't good on Monday - the day I would have given him away for tuppence.

I get like you hae described. Some days noise is just like a red rag to a bull I am so sensitive to it. Last week we went to a garden centre to get some plants and there was a woman with two boys and she was really loud, not shouting just wanting everyone to hear what she said. I wanted to thump her it grated on me so much.

Am crap wife tonight. Have headache. DH has been so nice to me and wanted to chat and cuddle and I just want to be left alone in a cool dark bedroom. I am grumpy. He is working in the study looking hurt.

Ducky23 · 04/06/2015 06:18

Ha cupcake I regularly think that while looking through Facebook, think it just got worse when I was pg! Grin

Lulu hope your feeling better!

Torie I hope ollie slept ok for you last night. Can't beleive how much he eats!

I am so so tired Hmm I really don't know what's going on with ds. He didn't get to sleep until 9pm last night, then he woke at 4am and was just squealing to himself, I gave him some water but then he just cried for milk, after his milk he slept for around 30 mins and decided it was morning. He used to be such a good sleeper Sad

My midwife used to say never get up with them at stupid o clock because they will expect it then, but I don't have a choice cus h has to get up for work and he kept him awake for a good while too. I never thought the day would come that I would think a lie in would be until 6.30 Blush

Sounds good Tori :)
I hope u managed some sleep last night and no cluster feeding!

I hope ur headache has gone today Lulu and ur feeling more urself Flowers

Ducky I was in such a foul mood last night Grin and my DS was the same Ducky, it's hard work as well. Sometimes u can't just leave them to cry sometimes u have to get up and get them. I promise u it gets better, there will still be the odd bad day but it gets better.
DS goes to sleep 8:30:9pm (earliest he will go!) and has been sleeping till 7:30am which is so much better than before. I can understand how exhausted u must be.

I'm also exhausted today. It's been non stop. Work was absolutely manic! Then I get DS and come home and so much to be done. Then I had to rush and get my cousins from school as my mom was meant to get them but she forgot! U should have seen me waddling as fast as I could to the school Grin my bump has really grown in the past week it's absolutely huge already! Will have to put s bump pic up in the next few days :) still not had my physio appt come through so going to call up tomorrow to see what's going on. I'm sat down with DS now, he's got his milk and I've got my cuppa tea :) watching hollyoaks haha. Can't wait for bed!!

LuluJakey1 · 04/06/2015 19:07

What a lovely day it has been here today, sunny and warm. Our garden is so green and everything is growing well. It isn't a very manicured garden, but it is old and established and we like it like that.

DS has rolled on a rug on the grass this afternoon. The cats were hoping he'd get off the rug so they could have it. He has eaten lots today - banana, baby rice and milk at breakfast, spinach and potato and pureed fruit for lunch with a little soya yoghurt, and vegetables and chicken pureed for tea. With bottles too.

We had a walk this morning and he was shouting in his buggy at the seagulls.

Ducky23 · 04/06/2015 19:26

Sounds like you have both had a good day Smile the weather has been lovely! Grin

I'm pissed off, I got out of bed around 5/5.30 with ds after he was awake from 4, h slept until 9 (9!!!!Shock)
Got up and started complaining he's tierd, he finishes work at 6, I was out. Come home and there's no sign of him. He's in bed sleeping Hmm he's come in, had his dinner, left his plates and cup on the side in the lounge, left his shoes in the middle of the floor and his uniform on the sofa and gone to bed. Hmm wound me up as we were getting on so well recently.

Tonight I'm going to try skipping ds 10.30 bottle in the hope he has a long sleep, wakes up for a bottle then has another long sleep. Fingers crossed it works!

Weather had been lovely here too Lulu! :)

Oo Ducky have u heard of dream feeding?
Where u give baby a bottle when they are asleep to make them full and sleep longer? That could be worth a try?
And I'd be very annoyed with ur DH! Angry Did he not want to cook for u as well? Seen as u are busy with ds all day and are probably exhausted urself!

Sounds like you had a productive day tori! Grin

Cupcake his 10/10.30 bottle was a dream feed but it didn't seem to make much difference.

His usual routine was bottle around 6ish, sleep around 7/7.30 then dream feed at 10/10.30, then sleep until 4/5ish. I'm hoping that if I miss the 10 bottle he will wake up around 1/2 hungry then will have a big bottle and a longer sleep. If I can get him to 6.30 id be really happy Grin

LuluJakey1 · 04/06/2015 21:36

Ducky, DS has his last bottle at 9 now and will often sleep through until half7 or 8. Not always but I would say 5 times a week. It's lovely. DH wakes about 6 and we have a cuddle and snooze on a bit, hegets up about half past, showers, makes me a cup of tea. When he goes to work I sometimes get another hour to myself to get ready or whatever- sometimes I stay in bed.

What does your DH do Ducky? Is it a tiring job?

Tori, you must have been really organised today to get all that done! I would never have achieved that a couple of weeks after DS was born. I was chaotic.

Cupcake, be careful and make sure you get enough rest.

Lulu not particularly! Some days there can be quite a bit of lifting and things, other days he's driving, some days he moans that they just stand around with nothing to do! I would love ds to sleep like that! Does your ds usually sleep before 9 or is that his bedtime? I was wondering whether to move bedtime back for ds. He was lying awake squealing and grabbing his toes until half 9 tonight. He's still in our room but this weekend I will set up the monitor and from next week put him in his bed in the evenings. I don't think I will move him just yet as I get up so much in the night it's just further for me to drag myself!

Tori hope he doesn't wake ollie up! Otherwise a punch to the head is definately in order! Grin

There's been a huge power cut here nothing is working!! :( :( and I'm terrified my house alarm will go off once the power returns!! No idea what the code is!
Also DS 's alarm isn't working obviously cuz the powers not working.
I'm sat up in bed panicking now not knowing what to do! Confused
Can't hear DS if he cried and also he's gonna be scared stiff if the alarm goes off and this will ruin his sleep for a long time as he's gonna be too scared to go to bed! Argghhh :( all I wanted was a day of peace and yet the stress doesn't end!
