Ooh Ducky that would be amazing! I'll pm you my address Smile if he gets better from not having dairy I could probably get the doc to prescribe some.
He's ok with the bottle, he feeds until he's finished, it's just bf that takes him ages. That's why I was giving him bottles at night to get more sleep. I think bf just relaxes him too much Grin
I can't believe your DS is 6 months Ducky! The time has flown by! That must mean Lulu's DS is as well. And Bears??

Ducky23 · 18/05/2015 15:13

Well he's 23 weeks now so close enough Grin

The tubs aren't very big but il send 2 or something the if he gets on with it I can send the rest Grin

It's still got milk protein in it but it's just broken down so the body doesn't recognise it enough to cause a reaction.

It really stinks too Confused

Lill I was told if baby is finishing a bottle it means u need to up it by an ounce. That's what they taught me with DS. Obv I don't know about bf as it's just eat till he's full. Confused
So maybe he's needing more milk?
They say if drinking from a bottle there should always be a little bit of milk left so u know baby is full.

I will have to get some bf tips off u :) I'm determined to try it this time as I think it'd help me out a lot at night as I don't want to be going off making a bottle and waking DS1 up (how weird is it writing DS1! Lol)
Lill did u do anything to prepare for bf before u gave birth? Did u leak any milk before or not?
Sorry for the questions Grin

And I agree with Ducky! Vari flow ones are very good :)

Cupcake92 · 19/05/2015 10:44

How did you find the arm tori? Confused

Happy birthday Tori! really hope you get your birthday baby! What's 'arm'?? Blush
Cupcake, I didn't do anything to prep for bf, but I've been told to take vitamin D tablets daily. I didn't leak at all before having DS but once he was here I started producing a bit of colostrum, but had to massage bbs a lot to help it out! The midwives at the hospital helped a lot. My milk took much longer than usual to come in due to losing so much blood during the section. It's a good idea to bf to avoid waking DS1, but hopefully you won't have such a greedy hungry baby that keeps you up all night Grin
I went to bed at 11 last night and DS woke up at 1 and then kept me up ALL NIGHT. Literally, all night until DP took him downstairs at 7am so I could get a bit of sleep Hmm

lillamyy1 · 19/05/2015 17:40

Oh of course - Artificial Rupture of Membranes!
Tori did you feel loads of pressure down below like a big poo with each contraction due to the excess fluid?

Ducky23 · 19/05/2015 18:40

That's the one lil! Grin

Why was ds up all night? Was it feeding or he just wanted cuddles? Have posted the stuff for you. If you are bf you also need to cut out dairy Shock it might not make a difference but if it does ds will be a completely differnt baby! I couldn't beleive the change in ds! I actually cried because I was so happy!

Have you had any advice about your milk? I only ask as I read something a while ago someone put up, it was for a website called fearless formula feeders (I think?!) and one woman sounded similar to you, apparently she wasn't making much milk, something to do with breast tissue. Maybe pop on the website (I can't remember the actual address but I'm sure if you google it, it will come up)

Cupcake92 · 19/05/2015 18:48

I was going to ask what arm meant as wel! Grin oo Tori go u! Come on baby pop out! What a lovely bday pressie that would be :)

Lill, I'm going to beg the hospital to help me bf this time as they didn't help at all with DS and I felt pressured to ff him as he wasn't eating and had blood in his nappies. And that's good to know about the not leaking before! Because i didn't with DS and didn't after he was born so I was thinking maybe I don't have milk :s lol I'll deffo ask for help then at the hospital :)

Ducky how's ur DS now? :) is he all better?

Ducky23 · 19/05/2015 19:01

He's feeling much better now thanks cupcake Smile still a bit rattly but because of his bronch he has that for a while after a cold. He's currently on his bean bag squealing to himself getting very over tierd! I was told to stop holding him to sleep because he has has problems self settling him

Happy birthday Tori and I hope it is a happy birth day too! Soon be over! Flowers

LuluJakey1 · 19/05/2015 21:43

I have broken my new ipad! Screen needs replacing. Can't believe it. I have only had it a couple of weeks. Dh just said 'It's only a bit of glass. Stop getting worked up over a bit of glass' Hmm

LuluJakey1 · 19/05/2015 21:46

Ducky, DS is in bed. I took him to a baby group today and he has worn himself out rolling and shrieking and trying to get things, kicking his legs and smiling at other babies. He is in his room with the door shut, fast asleep. Long may it continue!

Ducky23 · 19/05/2015 21:56

Oh lulu id be gutted too!! I broke my I phone screen back in feb, I'm due to get a new phone so thought id wait it out until July, the crack is getting bigger and bigger!

What type of things do they do at your group lulu? I was quite surprised that the one I go to is more for the parents (speakers and things) than the babies. Ds has a little friend there, they like to sit and hold hands Grin

OP posts:
Cupcake92 · 19/05/2015 22:15

Aw that's good Ducky glad he's on the mend :)

Oh no Lulu! :( my worst nightmare that is! They are so easily broken tho, they need to me made of shatter proof glass lol.

I feel so huge tonight! Think my tummy is expanding again lol!

lillamyy1 · 20/05/2015 04:28

Ducky, he was awake for feeding mainly but also was very excitable and chatty! He's awake for the second time tonight now but I've had two two-hour blocks of sleep so far so better than last night already Smile
Yeah I'm giving up dairy Hmm it's hard because I loooove dairy but the last two evenings he's been better so either it's working already or it's a coincidence.
I think my milk supply is fine now Smile
Cupcake that's really sad the midwives didn't help you bf. they should have even if DS was started on formula. It probably took so long because you'd had a section too. I had to spend a lot of time trying to express by hand and with a pump and trying to get DS to latch on in order to get my milk to come in and it took 6 days when it's usually about three days I think Hmm
Have you heard of la leche league? They're an international bf support group and you can probably find someone in your area to help you. I think they can visit you and you can call them too.
I was really lucky that at my hospital they're very committed to helping everyone bf and it's the same with the community mws so I had people seeing me every day and helping for the first week.

lillamyy1 · 20/05/2015 05:18

Ducky, that's so cute about your DS's friend!!
I'm going to a babies group today. Last week was DS's first time and he was the only one crying Blush I spent the hour changing and feeding him so didn't get to know anyone!!

Cupcake92 · 20/05/2015 07:43

They were awful there Lill, I was panicking as DS wouldn't latch on and seemed starving and then I asked why there was blood in his nappy and they said "he's not feeding at all which is making him ill, u need to give him something very soon." So I panicked and said well I'll have to give him a bottle then because I can't do this he won't latch on, and she just said "oh good I'll go and fetch u a bottle" then that was it. :/ I'll deffo have a research of that support group. Thanks Lill :)

Hope everything's well Tori! I hope u have ur baby in ur arms as I speak! :)

I booked a space for a mothercare expectant parents event in June :) it looks rele good and u get big discounts in store that evening! :D good chance to get baby things but cheaper. And they have a child's first aid session and also someone who comes to talk about breastfeeding. I'm quite excited for it rele :) I'm hoping to get my graco Moses basket cheaper as they are £150 brand new. Oo I can't wait to have this baby lol!
