Looking for a Mum-to-be to buddy up! I'm TTC number 1 and not had any luck so far, having a couple of months off before we start trying again. x

When's mine then Ovulation Oracle? Or have I already had it! :)

Issie339 · 10/04/2015 18:37

Hmmm...my Ovulation Oracle senses are feeling Sunday for you Violet Grin

nickynackynoo31 · 10/04/2015 18:38

issie339 I have ovia fertility.
it's good and gives lots of info. I think it would be really helpful if you was certain of your cycle....which as it's my first cycle after coil removal and having that in for 4 1/2 years with only tiny bit of bleeding throughout think my body is still trying to get bk to normal ...

I think plan of action is opk everyday and dtd as much as poss over next few days....Smile Smile Smile Smile

nickynackynoo31 · 10/04/2015 18:39

I know what you mean Brooke113....I've geared myself up all week for this being peak of cycle and then neg this morning has put me on a downer.....hopefully things will get better as weekend goes by Smile xx

Brooke113 · 10/04/2015 19:27

Nicky-keeping my fingers crossed for you hun :)

Sorry to go on about this again but im really stressing. So if the opk i did last saturday was almost positive, and then negative on the monday, presuming i ov'd on the sunday...i should have done an opk and then i wouldnt be stressing, but had too much on our plate that day, so completely forgot...the opk i did today was completely 100% negative, not even a hint of a line. Would an opk go from being "almost positive" to "completely negative" without ovulation occuring?

nickynackynoo31 · 10/04/2015 19:35

Brooke113...don't be sorry
it's what we're all here for.

I'm not 100% to be honest. I'm not sure how it all works as with my other 2 never bothered with things like that. I'm so confused with the opks Sad Sad ....

I was wondering today (and it's probably the most stupid question)....once you get a positive is that the start of the good few days of being fertile and do you need to test everyday after??

I'm too confused...this ttc milarky is very stressful!!!

Brooke113 · 10/04/2015 19:42

Nicky- i never used them before either! Think they're stressful too! Somebody on here told me that when you have a positive opk, you have between 12-24 hours, im guessing the lh surge will lower then and the tests should get lighter and lighter?

VioletIbiza88 · 10/04/2015 20:55

Not really sure either Nicky but going by the fact that Brooke got a positive, then we don't know what happened the next day and then the day after it was negative, it seems your best plan would be to do what you said before and opk every day until your due on and of course bd'ing every other day if you can. Also when I stopped the pill my first cycle was 34 days so it may be the same with coil removal it takes your body longer to get back to normal so you may have a longer than normal cycle, which could explain ovulation been later than what you and the app originally expected.

Brooke - Im not sure if one would go from almost positive to negative without ovulation. I think the most likely thing was that you did ovulate either later on Saturday or on the Sunday. I guess if could do if your body released a surge of estrogen and then lutenizing hormone but then no egg was released. It says in my CBDH opk instructions that a woman can sometimes not release an egg during a cycle but its not clear about whether the hormones that the opk recognises would still be released in that circumstance and therefore an opk would be positive.

Issie - I will let you know! Although my gut feeling is it was before i started using the opks.

VioletIbiza88 · 10/04/2015 20:58

Brooke - what were the opk's like leading up to saturdays? Im sure ive read that everyones different in terms of the darkness of the lines that they get. Im using the clear blue ones - much simpler! its a circle (low fertility) and flashing smiley face (high fertility) and a static smiley face (peak fertility).

On another note is anyone symptom spotting yet? Regardless of being in the tww or not!!

Brooke113 · 10/04/2015 21:37

Violet- leading up to the Saturday result result, they were getting darker by the day. If I don't get a bfp this month then.I think I'm. going to invest in the clear blue ones, they sound easier to read ;)

nickynackynoo31 · 10/04/2015 21:46

the clear blue ones do seem to be the best...I'm using some cheap ones at minute and they take ages to get a reading!!! altho it didn't help dipping the damn thing in the wrong way the first time lol....made sure I read instructions right next time.

anyone else feeling a tad funny after stopping the contraception??

I've been feeling dizzy and really tired and needing to wee loads... I think it's more in my head than actually anything...overactive imagination x

VioletIbiza88 · 11/04/2015 07:18

I've felt better since coming off the pill, more positive in mood, can't say ive noticed any physical changes though. Another negative opk this morning! :( Nicky - was Issie right? Is today the day? x

nickynackynoo31 · 11/04/2015 12:59

Well just tested and it's still negative Sad Sad

who knows what my boys is doing x

Brooke113 · 11/04/2015 13:18

What cd are you nicky? Maybe tomorrow will be the day :)

I can't comment on feeling different after coming off contraception as we were using the withdrawal method, my body doesn't react very well to the hormones in contraceptives.

smellsofelderberries · 11/04/2015 13:19

Brooke113- you sound like me. My OPKs go from no line to lines that gradually darker over the course of about 5 days, then all of a sudden I will do a test and get a strong, dark line almost instantly, as which point I assume that is 'peak'. The day after my strong positive I will usually have a test where the test line is about the same as the control line, and eventually they taper off and get less obvious the closer I get to the end of my cycle.

I'm 7 days into my first TWW and am symptom spotting like mad Blush like somehow if I convince myself that I feel nauseous/my boobs hurt that it will somehow make me magically pregnant. Am definitely going to wait until my period is late to test as I'm due on on Friday, so would like to test Saturday morning if need be and share that with DH. It will be my first ever pregnancy test and I'm looking forward to sharing that with him, no matter the result Smile

Brooke113 · 11/04/2015 13:50

I think I'm addicted to poas, I did another opk around 30 mins ago and it was negative again, according to my app I'm supposed to ov tomorrow too lol

Issie339 · 11/04/2015 17:47

Hi everyone

Violet, I was on the pill for 10 years before having my first dd and I found that one kind of pill made me really down and depressed, so bad I had to switch!

I'm about 3 days in to my 2ww and trying not to symptom spot- I've been convinced I'm pregnant every cycle so far and haven't been. Saying that...have been really tired and head achey plus nauseous in the mornings the last few days...though this may be more due to caffeine withdrawal than anything else!

Anyone else have symptoms?

Really hoping this month is the one for us, feel like we've been trying for ages Sad and it's hard. Although I don't know whether our first 3 cycles count as we were accidentally using lube with spermicide in Blush I know, I know, we're idiots!!

VioletIbiza88 · 11/04/2015 18:43

I could be in my two week window if I did ov on CD13/CD14 (wed or thurs), which would make sense for a 28 day cycle. Or I could still be yet to ov? Who knows? Ive also felt nauseas two mornings this week, and really headachey and tired today after a good sleep. Think its probably more down to caffeine withdrawal (limiting to 1 a day) and dtd interfering with sleep time though! But I hope its not!! Also felt bloated and full after smaller amounts of food than normal. Think im clutching at straws to be honest with that one though lol! This ttc malarky does do funny things to your brain doesn't it!! Anyway will keep on with the opk's and see what happens.

StellaAlpina · 11/04/2015 18:52

Ooh this thread has gotten much longer since I last checked it.

No ttc for me for at least the next month as I've just remembered I've never had an mmr jab! (was toddler abroad) so I'll have to go get that done in the next few weeks.

nickynackynoo31 · 11/04/2015 18:57

I will be cd16 today....so maybe because my body is trying to regulate it's self it maybe slightly longer cycle???

nickynackynoo31 · 11/04/2015 19:02

I also have bit of discharge today....clear and stretchy.

could this be a sign that things are about to develop or have been and gone?? x

Brooke113 · 11/04/2015 19:07

Clear and stretchy Cm is fertile cm, it helps aid the sperm swim where it needs to go Wink so get baby dancing lol

nickynackynoo31 · 11/04/2015 19:16

Ooh better make sure other half is ready tonight lol â?º

little knew sleeping at grannies so no excuse Smile Smile Smile

could it still mean ov is imminent even though neg test this morning?? x

Brooke113 · 11/04/2015 19:21

Some women get it for days at a time, before and after ovulation. The way I see it, it's fertile cm and helps aid the sperm, so it can't help dtd whenever you are it Smile

Brooke113 · 11/04/2015 19:22

*see it.
