Looking for a Mum-to-be to buddy up! I'm TTC number 1 and not had any luck so far, having a couple of months off before we start trying again. x

Oh and Fay the reason is caffeine can stop your eggs maturing properly/ fully maturing and so make it more difficult to conceive. I think you're ok with some coffee (I cut down to 1 a day but didn't cut it out altogether with DD one, both when ttc and when pregnant) but as I'm now in cycle 7 of ttc this time thought I'd better (begrudgingly) cut it out altogether.

Issie339 · 24/04/2015 12:06

...actually that might not be true, I've just done some googling...not sure. Hmm, need to stop obsessing and do some work.

VioletIbiza88 · 24/04/2015 14:08

Got my opk's and then got the b complex vits and an information leaflet about agnus castus from the nice lady in the health food store. It's not that informative really, but apparently its supposed to be good for pms by "exerting a balancing effect on the activity of the female sex hormones increasing progesterone levels and reducing prolactin. Altering the levels of prolactin in the body often facilitates conception, making agnus castus popular for infertility."

Did you go to the coffee shop Issie? I would say have what you want while AF is here, and I'll go caff-free with you when AF ends.

Issie339 · 24/04/2015 15:34

I did Violet Sad day 1 of no caffeine has not been a success so far, but you have persuaded me to not bother until after AF anyway. Yes, lets both go caff-free from next week, we can have a daily check in Bridget Jones styleee- yey!

Good info re Agnus Castus, I will ponder it this evening on the train (that is my best thinking time).

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 24/04/2015 21:31

VERY quiet on the thread this evening! Hope everyone's had a good day! Smile

sparklesandfizz · 24/04/2015 22:32

I'm here but attempting to grab an early night
Chat over weekend though
Hope y'all well.
Good luck tomorrow looking can't remember if you decided you were gonna test or not?

ethelfleda · 24/04/2015 23:15

I would love a buddy!
I am 30, first month TTC and 16dpo!! I'm going to test over the weekend. Happy but kind of freaked out as have no friends that have children or are trying so could use some support at this will be my first!
Nice to meet everyone!

nickynackynoo31 · 24/04/2015 23:44

ethelfleda. ...welcome.
such a lovely bunch on here...will make you feel at ease in no time!!!

fx crossed for testing Smile

I tested today with a asda test (can do 4 days before) and it was BFN. Sad Sad Sad

wish I hadn't of done it but hey Ho. ...AF will probably come next week although still a little unsure..
xx

ethelfleda · 25/04/2015 00:21

Hi Nicky! Thank you, I could do with a calming influence right now! How many DPO are you? How are you feeling? xx

sparklesandfizz · 25/04/2015 08:25

Oh nicky am sooo sorry Hun. It's totally crap isn't it?.
Don't be too bummed as you have tested very early but let's concentrate on making may our month.

ethelfleda welcome - sounds good! Fx for you and hoping for good news this weekend.

Everyone else have a lovely Saturday whatever your plans, hope no one having to work. Will check in later xx

Issie339 · 25/04/2015 08:38

Ahh Nicky sorry hun Flowers if you're still 2 days before AF though let's keep fx AF never arrives.

looking are you due to test soon looking at Violet's list?

Hi ethelfleda Oohhh 16 dpo sounds positive, when are you going to POAS?

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 25/04/2015 09:05

Welcome ethelfleda! Good luck for your POAS-ing this weekend!

Oh nicky that's poop! But as Issie said, it could be too early for a positive result so you're not out yet!

VioletIbiza88 · 25/04/2015 09:06

Morning, welcome Ethelfleda, that does sound very positive, wow 16dpo! Have you decided when your going to test?

Nicky - I'm not giving up hope yet, implantation can take a long time up to 12dpo and then the hormones will only increase slowly, doubling every 2-3 days, so may well be too early yet. Your not out till AF's here and I hope it wont arrive!!!!

Is anyone else going to follow SMEP (Sperm Meets Egg Plan) next try? I'm going to give it a go.

Issie339 · 25/04/2015 09:14

What's SMEP Violet ?

ethelfleda · 25/04/2015 09:18

I'm going to test in the morning I think... Wish me luck! What is everyone's story?

Nicky don't be disheartened, as others have said it could be too soon to detect anything - don't some women take a while after AF was due to get a BFP? Xx

Lookingforadvice123 · 25/04/2015 09:33

Thanks for the luck all but Ive decided today is too early to test despite what my app says! So if I haven't had any signs of af by this evening will buy a test ready for tomorrow morning. Although I've got a bad feeling I'll get spotting starting today which will mean I'm out.

I looked up the SMEP out of curiosity! But for me it's a bit much when we've only been trying 1 month! If I still haven't caught by month 5/6 I would consider it, but I just don't see how it WOULDNT take the fun out of dtd! If you find a way violet let me know Wink

VioletIbiza88 · 25/04/2015 12:18

Issie - its basically a plan which tells you when to have sex lol! The general idea is that although we read that sperm can live about 3 days, in reality they can only live about 2 hours unless in fertile quality cervical mucous. So the 3 days thing is more if your planning not to get pregnant than if you are, if that makes sense. So starting on CD8 you dtd every other day and start opk'ing on CD10. Carry on dtd every other day until you get a positive opk and then dtd that day, the next day and the following day. Then have a day off and then dtd the next day. So thats it really simples! It also suggests not testing until CD35 because if it's positive on CD35, then the baby has safely implanted and the risk of miscarriage is down to the normal 10% risk.

What do you think? Anyone going to try it?

The only amendment I might make is that my clear blue opk's suggest with a 26/27 day cycle I should start testing on CD7, so not sure which sounds more right CD7 or CD10. I'm hoping the vit B will be increasing this though. x

Brooke113 · 25/04/2015 14:33

I think I'm going to try it Grin I'm cd6 today and I'm.going to start using OPKs on CD10 as I ov'd between Cd11 and 12 last cycle :)

VioletIbiza88 · 25/04/2015 14:41

Yay Brooke anyone else joining us? x

VioletIbiza88 · 25/04/2015 14:42

I'm two days behind CD4 today

Issie339 · 25/04/2015 16:35

Well that sounds sensible, so we just dtd every 2 days until I get positive opk then do it 3 days in a row...doesn't sound too difficult ?? Think I'll try it this month too. I'm cd3 of 31 day cycle so will probably start about 4th May

Issie339 · 25/04/2015 16:37

Brooke, if you usually Ov about cd11 or 12 it might be worth starting opks a few days earlier than cd10 in case its a bit early this cycle and you miss it hun

Brooke113 · 25/04/2015 18:42

I think I've seen every pregnant woman in the UK whilst in Asda today! I hate to say I had serious bump envy EnvySad

Brooke113 · 25/04/2015 18:45

Issie I was shocked this month as I ov'd in Cd11 or Cd12, which gave me a 28 day cycle, I normally have anything from 32-34 so I was abit surprised when I ov'd that early.

sparklesandfizz · 25/04/2015 21:55

Hey there guys! Well not had too long to wait. Dreaded af arrived this pm, bang on time at least. Cd1 and on to the next.....
Had a lovely day today just chilling out although baby sparkles decided she didn't want to nap which is always tricky. Too exciting having big ones about she likes in on the action.

Dinner out to celebrate Mr S's success.
Revised sparkle stats 34, ttc dc4 month 2, dtd BFP due May 22nd
