Nomio, yes, keep peeking at different clinic sites and just tell yourself you are window shopping - just like when you know your maybe-dream holiday is, like, four years away, but you keep sneaking a look at exotic brochures anyway. It is good to be looking and researching and reading. In fact, there is nothing to stop you spying on the cycling forums for various Czech clinics over on FF. It all becomes very 'normal' when you watch and read the journeys of women going out there and coming home with their prize Smile

PurdeyPie · 16/03/2015 21:52

Babs, I wouldn't say it was rough at the coroners inquest. There was a nicely well-stocked vending machine.

Sparkly123 · 16/03/2015 21:52

Wooo Nomio back in the game! Glad you are feeling a bit better Flowers

Re IVF: Abnormal or "synthetic" according to D&G eh Purds Elton John sure told them ! Coming from an Italian family, I understand they believe in "tradition" etc but my goodness their views on IVF and marriage that are out there today are something else eh..?!

PurdeyPie · 16/03/2015 21:53

Ooo, thanks for saying you like the name! That makes me feel happy, sad cow that I am. So much pressure when you have to name your babby!

PurdeyPie · 16/03/2015 21:54

Sparko, what are you on about, love? What have D&G said?

Sparkly123 · 16/03/2015 21:55

Oh yeh, there's me forgetting that you have had a full on day and prob haven't seen the hooha in the media!!!

cymonsarah · 16/03/2015 21:56

Aw girlies, I've just been catching up. You are all so amazing. The support we have here is great. Hope everyone is feeling better.

Feeling positive SmileFlowers

babsbunny · 16/03/2015 21:57

I love your optimism Purdey. I hope there were twirls. Sorry if I sounded flippant about your dhs ex. Just sometimes, you hear things that puts ones own perceived problems into perspective.

Purds see above.. Quote from the article:

"I call children of chemistry, synthetic children. Rented uterus, semen chosen from a catalogue."

babsbunny · 16/03/2015 21:59

Love her name Purdey. It's my MIL name, so have always thought it would be a sweet name for a wee girly....

PurdeyPie · 16/03/2015 22:00

Pikz, I often wonder if you're okay. You say so little and yet your sadness is tangible. I am sorry this is taking so long and sixteen months feels heartbreaking and pointless. Have you considered assisted conception? Can you remind me what issues you've had in the past (I'm sure I remember reading you had endo?) I don't want to force you to elaborate if you're not willing but please know we think of you. Don't give up until you can be sure your journey has come to its end - and journeys should never end in sadness and defeat Thanks

Nomio230 · 16/03/2015 22:03

If I could afford D&G, I would now be boycotting them. What a ridiculous thing to say. How a child is conceived is irrelevant, it is how they are raised that matters.

Sparkly123 · 16/03/2015 22:05

Agreed Nomio I'm very surprised at their stance. I really can't understand it. Maybe I'm generalising the gay man too much in assuming they would be open to any way in which to have a child. But I am really shocked at their words.

loopylou1984 · 16/03/2015 22:11

Just realised how that sounded... I meant I know it's not a symptom for me yet as I haven't seen a temp rise to confirm ovulation! I didn't mean to imply breast tenderness wasn't a symptom of pregnancy! Xx

PurdeyPie · 16/03/2015 22:11

Sparklywomb, blimey! Strong sentiments indeed. I can't take anything away from D&G's argument; they sound staunch Catholics and their view of marriage and procreation is shared by millions of people around the world. I think it's a shame to heap opprobrium on them for saying what they believe (and I notice Courtney Love only suggests she may burn her D&G clothes in protest Grin). IVF is artificial and if you are a God-fearing couple you will wrestle with the theological arguments that attest to creation being of God and not embryologists. I know I had some serious battles with myself over the issue of donor eggs..

Happily, the view of two designers are never going to thwart the dreams of those seeking a family by 'artificial' means. There's nowt synthetic or abnormal about my tot. Her mum, on the other hand....Grin

babsbunny · 16/03/2015 22:13

It's a pretty awful mind set. Archaic and narrow minded words from D&G.

juneybean · 16/03/2015 22:14

I'm the anti-thesis of being politically minded and find it hard to get het up about anything... but it makes me wonder how stupid a company has to be, a company who probably serves a lot of homosexual people to make such ridiculous statements.

Of course there's free speech but I suspect they'll will see a hit in their profits because of this.

juneybean · 16/03/2015 22:15

Oooo sammy I've noticed mine are really sore today as well?!

babsbunny · 16/03/2015 22:16

I want sore boobs!

Purplecuddlykoala14 · 16/03/2015 22:17

Evening all,
lucie good luck.
sparkly glad you have got your sparkle back.
nomio don't give up 3 cycles of nhs Ivf has got to give you a great chance.
purdey glad you're back.
This cycle so far is a bit odd Cd8, loads of spots and temps really low, so hoping that's a good sign the hormones are gearing up to spit out a good egg in time for an Easter BFP.

Sparkly123 · 16/03/2015 22:18

Purds yep I always say everyone should say what they believe regardless if it is common opinion.. I'm just shocked on their stance. I have been brought up in the Catholic Church, traditional italian family.. So I hear you. But then their sexuality is not exactly well accepted within the church either. It just confuses me. I wonder if the these "celebs" will actually follow through with their boycott after their outbursts.

Like you say. Is this going to stop/influence anyone in "real" life? No. But it was interesting to see how the media ran with this story today!

Sparkly123 · 16/03/2015 22:20

Purple good luck !!! Fingers crossed!! Are you an April BFPer then?

loopylou1984 · 16/03/2015 22:21

lol Babs - who thought that would ever be something we'd wish for... Along with nausea, frequent peeing and all the other pregnancy delights!

Juney - where are you now? Have both lots of spermies ventured in? Xx

PurdeyPie · 16/03/2015 22:21

Who asked what constitutes a temp leap after ov? I have read in the past (on the FF Q&A page) that, in order to ascertain ovulation, there has to be a temp increase of at least 0.2°. This month my temp only rose by 0.28 the day after ov Hmm

Three BFP's in one day?? Impossible? Not on this 'ere March conception buzz it's not!
juneybean · 16/03/2015 22:24

sammy yah I spermed at 1am and 12pm and I just took my softcup out and it was full of... goo... but I had used preseed this month also!
