Thanks ladies! Yep will dtd tonight, tomorrow and maybe even Tues for good measure. Wink. The only reason I started opks was because id had a lot of ewcm. I wasnt expecting to ov until weds! Ah well... my irregular cycles have well and truly cocked up smep for this month!!

I'm interested

wotsits1 · 22/03/2015 13:02

...in the foods list too!

DizzyMerry · 22/03/2015 13:16

Thanks sparkle you're a Star very interesting information and definitely worth trying. Those foods are nutritious and nourishing so can't do any harm. Also interesting about the b vitamins as I've read many stories online of ladies getting upduffed after taking a vitamin b complex or vitamin b6

DizzyMerry · 22/03/2015 13:17

sparkly even but you are definitely a true sparkle as in diamond Smile

nightandthelight · 22/03/2015 14:02

Thanks Sparkly, if no bfp this cycle will definitely try that out next time!

loopylou1984 · 22/03/2015 14:22

Thanks Sparkly - a few things to try there Smile x

wotsits1 · 22/03/2015 14:24

Thanks Sparkly! Curry for tea tonight then! Wink

Sparkly123 · 22/03/2015 14:48

Oh DizzyMerry Blush thanks. I'm really not!! Ha.

Yes I think healthy and nutritious foods so what harm can it do? B6 does seem to be a very important vit along with vit d.. Both of which I'm deficient in..oooops Confused

loopylou1984 · 22/03/2015 16:17

B6 scares me, isn't it meant to lengthen LP? I don't want to do that!! Xx

cremedecacao · 22/03/2015 16:19

Oh does it- I just bought vitamin b supplements!

cremedecacao · 22/03/2015 16:23

Does it do anything else to help or just lengthen LP? My LP is fine...

spinningirl10 · 22/03/2015 16:23

B6 scares me as well Sammy for the same reason. I worry about taking too many supplements and changing my cycle!
Great list Sparkly, I eat most of those things regularly. Time for all this healthy eating to pay off heh SparklySmile

cremedecacao · 22/03/2015 16:27

It MUST pay off soon! There is only so much brazil nuts and pineapple juice a girl can consume!

MelonMelon · 22/03/2015 16:42

I second that! Turning into a nut here!

Sparkly123 · 22/03/2015 17:00

Spinners yep that's my thing about supplements. Don't want to take too much! Did your consultant letter come through yet?

spinningirl10 · 22/03/2015 17:00

In case you didn’t know, Vitamin B6 is one of the most important vitamins for conceiving and fertility because it helps to regulate your hormones. Consuming Vitamin B6 can also help to lengthen your luteal phase of your cycle if you suffer from luteal phase defect. Still more women are convinced that Vitamin B6 can increase cervical mucus, which can help in conception. If you aren’t getting enough Vitamin B6, it can affect you in many ways. Your menstrual cycle can be irregular, and it can also lead to poor egg and sperm development.
How much Vitamin B6?
Most doctors recommend that you consume between 100-200 mg of Vitamin B6 per day. While this might not sound like a huge amount, it can be hard to achieve this amount through foods alone, and you might need a supplement. If you do not want to use a supplement, however, you can try to eat some of the following:
Avocodo
Spinach
Potatoes
Wild Caught Fish
Grassfed Meats
Eggs
Whole Grains
Legumes
Just like Folic Acid, Vitamin B6 is water soluble. That means that it doesn’t stay in your body too long, and you either need to make sure to eat enough of it or take a supplement each day. When eating to try to get enough Vitamin B6, you need to try to leave the food as close to its “whole” or “natural” state as possible. The reason for this? When cooking foods that contain Vitamin B6, up to 90% of the vitamins can be lost during the cooking process. If you are going to take a supplement, you should choose one that is a B-Complex instead of just Vitamin B6 Supplement. This is because the B Vitamins are better absorbed together, than alone.
Lifestyle choices that use up Vitamin B6
There are also things we do in our daily lives and lifestyle choices that cause our bodies to use up the Vitamin B6 that we have stored. These things can include:

spinningirl10 · 22/03/2015 17:01

Oops meant to put that's some info on B6 I found when I googled. I copied and pasted it incase it's any helpSmile

Rainy34 · 22/03/2015 17:27

I have been taking vitamin b complex vitamins for almost three months to sort out my luteal phase which has moved from 9 days to 11days, and to see if it will regulate my hormones as i suffer with spotting before my period, at this moment in time it has not done anything for that yet , but it does say it can take three months for it to help, and word of warning your urine goes bright yellow

loopylou1984 · 22/03/2015 18:19

But what about if your LP is fine? Will b6 still make it longer? I def don't want to make my cycles longer!

Think I'm going to get some EPO, feel like I need to try something new! Xx

DizzyNorthernBird · 22/03/2015 18:19

spinning is the last bit of your post missing? I want to know what comes next! cliffhanger

Rainy34 · 22/03/2015 18:29

Sammylou1 maybe try and source foods that are rich in b6, i am taking 100mg of the supplement a day, and it has moved my lp by one or two days, maybe try a lower dose say 50mg and see what happens and if you are not happy stop taking them and it should return to your normal length

Nomio230 · 22/03/2015 19:30

I have been taking B6 for the last 7/8 weeks, and this month AF was 3 days late. Weirdly I still kept getting pains like it was due any minute, plus tiny bits of spotting. Maybe it was just my body adjusting.

I think I am going to give EPO a go this month. Do any of you lovely lot know of any brands of capsules suitable for vegetarians?

spinningirl10 · 22/03/2015 19:38

Haha sorry Dizzy, had to go and hunt for the last bit!

Smoking
Caffeine Consumption
Taking Hormone Pills
Eating too many refined sugars
Eating too many processed foods
Eating too much protein
Eating too many refined bread products
By cutting out the things above, you can help your body to hold onto the Vitamin B6 that it has in your body. If you are trying to conceive, pay attention to the amount of B6 that you are putting into your body. Talk with your doctor if you need help deciding on a plan that is right for you!

Beansprout30 · 22/03/2015 19:50
