New to posting - AF 2 weeks late and negative HPT

Hi ladies can anyone shed any advice on what's happening with my body and if going through or been through the same? Sorry if long winded.

My last period was 23 December, I've been using an app on my phone to track my periods as I'm terrible at remembering when I'm roughly due. They're always heavy and last 5-8 days and roughly 26-30 day cycles. My period should have been due around 20th Jan, normally I've eaten my body weight in chocolate and can't even stomach it! Had on and off aches across lower abdomen but didn't feel like AF pains and then 2 days of spotting which was very pink. This stopped and my partner and I did the deed again which felt more sensitive than normal and a day after had very slight brown spotting only when wiping. I get waves of tiredness, my tummy is still slightly swollen from when AF should have visited, still on and off dull aches in lower abdomen and it feels like twinges and stretching sensation where my c-section scar is (that scar was 4 years ago and never had problems with it). My belly and chest look like a road map of blue veins, waves of tiredness and I'm having to eat little and often because I'm so full so quickly. I've had a urine test at GP which came back negative and actually was sick that morning which is odd for me, have taken HPT and negative. Any ideas what could be going on? I'm not stressed, no change to diet apart from food adiversions and no extreme weight loss/gain or exercise.

Thanks xx

I'm surprised your gp didn't just get you to book a blood test to check hcg levels. Seems a bit daft making you wait another week don't you think? I wish they wouldn't drag their heels about this stuff, it just takes over everything and an extra week is a big deal when you're hoping your preggers. At least your medication will hopefully make you feel a bit better.

Is anyone else's google history as ttc-crazy-lady as mine is right now? Every little thing I read way too much into, I don't know what I expect google to say either. All I want to come up when I search whatever is;
'Yes you are 100% pregnant and in fact you are 20 weeks gone so go you!' But I think I might be expecting a bit much from a search engine Grin

That's what I thought, but was told they couldn't deal with more than one thing in one appointment and to wait for my period to appear. Surely it's easier to refer for a blood test to stop women going out their mind and try and get back to normal, and if something else at least finding out earlier than later is better. I never understand them so here's to waiting again. Although as I keep being sick I might try test again next week and see if I haven't had AF appear.
Hehehe my search history is the same! Don't know why I do it, it doesn't help?? Why do we do this to ourselves

I would go back as soon as you can get an appointment. If you're throwing up every day something is obviously wrong(or if you're pregnant something is very right) and while stress couldn't effect any potential baby yet, its not any good for you.

I'm so over excited about my finally positive opk I've done about 5 today. All positive. I can't sleep either because im so giddy about maybe seeing a thermal shift on my chart tomorrow.

Awww excited for you, fingers crossed :)

Yep that's what I thought, I will try get another appointment at end of next week and try and be more firm with them. Least there is only one issue to talk about lol. I don't mind if I'm not just means we can try more ;)

Welcome Charley I hope your gp appointment goes well! From what others have said you'll most likely be booked in for a blood test. Especially if your periods are pretty regular. Fingers crossed for you it'll go well. Are you normally regular?

On cycle day 59 it appears I may have ovulated. My temp shot up 0.2 to 0.5 degrees(my temps been really varied lately) so as long as it stays high I'm back into the two week wait for the second time this cycle.

Hi Charley keep us posted on how you get on at the doctors. Fingers crossed for you, if you need to vent as your symptom spotting or feel you're going out of your mind feel free to say, we know how it feels.

That's great news Sarah fingers crossed for you!

No more news with me, still no sign of AF so back to the doctors I go during the week.

Thanks guys, I've got everything but my legs crossed Wink especially since figuring out our timing was off till now!

Charley I'm the same normally. Not regular, but reasonably consistent. Never go more than six weeks ever. Kelly you are one patient woman. I'd of been banging on the GPS front door Monday at opening time begging to be seen.

Hi ladies,

Hope you don't mind me joining this thread? I'm in a similar situation. Really frustrating and stressful how nothing seems to have a pattern. On cycle day 39, when last month it was 33 day cycle, month before that was 42 days. Went to docs last week as worried as don't think I have been ovulating as been taking OPKs but GP said not to worry too much as DH and I only been ttc for 3 months. Definitely been fertile and also been having lots of symptoms but struggling to pin point anything.

Was on the pill for a long time, came off Dec 2013 and seems to have taken over a year to get out of my system as went a couple of months without having AF but have been having them most months now for over 6 months. I suppose that's a positive! :)

Starting to panic about all the things that could be wrong though.

My hormones must be going crazy because I have FOUR MASSIVE spots all at once :( I hardly ever get spots! I dont think Ive ever had more than 2 spots at once :(

Hi Clarabelle the more the merrier. Have you tried charting your bbt? While it won't give you an answer till you've already ovulated it clearly shows you when you do. It might be good to put your mind at ease. It's so hard not to get anxious about your fertility though. Even when there's reason to be.

I had the most giant pmt spot last week on my chin like a glowing beacon. Female hormones are meanies.

Welcome Clarabelle :) the joys of cycles. Previously I was on birth control for years and stopped, took over a year before I fell pregnant with my DS who is now 4. During that time my cycles were all over the place and and completely varied in length then got heavier the longer I was off them. Fingers crossed all is fine for you

Oooo snap my skin is starting to break out in spots too! Charley you're not the only one, the joys of hormones.

Thanks Sarah, I am tempted to just bombard them now as its been long enough now.

Temp shot up .3 degrees again today! So stupidly excited to have finally caught proof I am actually ovulating. It's made me really really optimistic about this cycle though, which is a dangerous thing. I don't want another bfn. But after realizing our timing was so fucked, this month I know we dtd the day before and the day of ovulation so we're definitely in with our best shot yet.

How's everyone else getting on?

Fingers crossed Sarah, really pleased you know you've ovulated. I hope you get your bfp :)

I'm debating doing another test as AF still hasn't arrived. Not sure if the odd spotting I got last month was an odd period and to count that as one. If it was I should have come on last week. Oh I hate i this waiting around.

I'd do a test, it'll be the first thing the gp will ask you so best go prepared. Fertility friend said if the blood is red and stains your knickers to count it as a period. If its pink or brown and just when you wipe then count it as spotting. Don't know if that helps? I mean surely if its not normal for you that's all that matters. But either way you're late again so you should test!! I have my fingers crossed for two lines. In fact I reckon you should test in the morning and.let me know asap Grin

I guess I will test again, I'll grab a test tomorrow and do weds morning. Oh thanks for that bit of info, so I just had spotting then so haven't had a period since December. Earliest doctors appointment is Monday morning, will let you know the results of my test Weds morning but I'm sure it will be negative as its been quite a while now. This is now driving me mad lol. Thanks though :)

When did you last test? If its been a little while who knows what result it'll be. I really hope you either get your bfp or you get somewhere with the gp. Its so.bloody confusing and so emotional. How long have you being TTC for? We've been trying since September. But with my crazy long cycle what should have been 4-6 cycles has only been about 3. I am so done with it and all the stress.

Erm not since the beginning of the month when my GP sent off for the urine test. I started to bloat out more than I am and feeling warmer for once so thought AF would arrive and hasn't done and belly went back down a little bit.
Awww I really do have everything crossed for you hun! It's amazing how you're taught one thing growing about cycles and in reality it's all wrong as they vary so much, it is so stressful. If you need a rant to blow off steam feel free :)
I've been off BC for over a year as it doesn't agree with me well and had a few drunk accidents last month (sorry tmi) and talked and both agreed we would be happy if I was as we both do want another child, but not really trying like charting or anything yet.

Hello ladies, I'd like to join you please, although my situation is a little bit different to some of you. I came off the pill in November and expected to TTC straight away, which we did, but by mid-January I still hadn't had a period. I went to the doctors, mostly because I thought I had a UTI, and mentioned the lack of periods whilst I was there. Turns out I didn't have the UTI, but he did give me Norethisterone in order to bring on a withdrawal bleed and do the cycle day three tests.

After the bleed, I had the tests and they were all fine, and then everything seemed to happen as it should. I did some OPKs and they were positive around CD 15 and also I got watery CM and EWCM at that time. It's now CD32 and I've had no period. I know that it's still within the 'normal ranges', but I'm really worried that AF won't arrive. I have done three HPTs and they were all negative.

Last Tuesday, which was CD26 for me, I had really bad period like cramps that lasted around three days and then that was it, nothing. What really interested me was CuppaSarah, you said that you have ovulated having missed a period? I just wondered when you started testing with the OPKs? As I think that's what I will have to do if AF doesn't show this month. You have given me hope that I don't have to have AF in order to get a BFP!

It's so stressful not knowing when/if AF will come. I have been on the pill for so long that I can't actually remember my cycles before going on it, so I'm really worried that it just won't appear! I have been having acupuncture and taking agnus castus, although I stopped the former when I got the positive OPK, as I read it can be linked to mc, and haven't started it again yet in case I might be pregnant.

I haven't tried charting yet, although I do have a thermometer. But I can't really start at the end of a cycle can I?

I would really appreciate some advice, if anyone has it. I hope you all get some answers soon Flowers

Hiya Eskimo sorry your periods are messing you about too. I started using OPKs once my period never showed up. Throughout that time I had about 3 patches of ewcm, but each time I didn't get a positive and I never got another temp rise. 5 days ago I finally got ewcm and an actual positive opk and 3 days ago got the temp rise on CD 57! I think my thermal shift at the start of the month was a weird fluke and I didn't ovulate at that time. It's been a long wait and very confusing and frustrating, but thanks to temping I've got conformation of ovulation and that a period is actually on its way. I would really reccomend you start temping straight away, you can start anytime in your cycle. It might not be a massive help this cycle but you'll be glad of the data next cycle. Also your temp will drop the day before or.of yoir next period so you will get advance warning of it. There's every chance you did ovulate, but the stress of waiting is holding your period back a couple essays, plus a nice long luteal phase is a really positive thing for TTC so its actually good news you're still waiting.

Week Kelly I really hope you get your bfp! I'm envious you can take the relaxed approach to TTC must make it much easier to keen your sanity.

I currently have mega acid reflux and a really iffy belly. Despite 3dpo being way to early for symptoms I can't help symptom spot.
