I am back after my weekend of cooking, cleaning, washing, bathing, playing, wiping pooey bums, getting woken up at 4.30am & then just for fun, bashing my knee & barely being able to walk yesterday. I think I might be dead. (Was babysitting nephews all weekend.)

Teacher, the 2ww becomes horrible after many months ttc. Having been there and done that I know there is no way around it but to grit one's teeth and plough on. I suspect many couples, like me, lose hope and start having less and less sex which, of course, is counter-productive to conceiving. When ttc is a new and exciting experience it is easy to bonk like rabbits, but if, eighteen months down the line, you haven't had a bfp, it can be hugely disheartening Mind you, fourteen months after my mmc I demanded a lap & dye from my gynae and flew to Czech Republic four months after that for donor egg IVF!

Remember, though, that you are not unusual if you have been ttc unsuccessfully for up to a year. It is highly likely you will get pregnant the second year. The question is: can you keep dtd plenty and at the right time? Yes! You can, teacher! You can do it!

Purdey - thanks for the kind, supportive words. I'm trying to stay positive! I just hate the feeling of limbo and wondering if there is a cause for concern. I also hate the guilt - am I not healthy enough, am I not relaxed enough, am I doing this wrong or that wrong etc etc

Hey purdey I had a look at your progesterone link and I have many of the symptoms... I told my GP this a while ago and had day 21 tests (well it was day 18, 4DPO). My progesterone level was 25 which the GP said confirms ovulation. What are your thoughts on 25 as a level? I have read mixed information online.

Sooooo many symptoms for everyone! I have none to report! Only 3 more get-ups til poas-party! Why do I still feel lucky?! Bah I will be so gutted (again) if bfn! Or if I get a temp dip!

Many of the bfns mentioned are too early - don't give up yet!

Catlady- Don't be annoyed with yourself! We all do it! Getting over excited and start pissing on sticks left right and centre......only to be met with a BFN is completely normal and understandable! There is still time!

I had my doc appointment this afternoon and am still in shock as to how helpful she was! I've been referred to a fertility clinic, ultrasound booked in, sperm analysis booked in AND 21 day bloods booked in all in one fell swoop!

Soooo happy to be taken seriously and to get it all arranged so quickly! Thank you to all those that gave me a talking to over the last few weeks about it (particularly your bossy words of wisdom Purdey ) I don't think I would have got the same response if I had been my usual wimpy self!

Mrscat do you mean have their name in bold or tag them some other way. To have them in bold put a star either side of the name e.g mrscat but without the spaces between the stars and the letters.

Teacher, how long have you been ttc? Please don't think you need to relax to conceive. It's a bastard myth and it makes me really angry when people insist we need to 'just relax'. Women conceive during rapes; women get pregnant in the midst of wars in Syria. If you had to relax to get pregnant only fecking hippies would conceive.

Miss, they should not have conducted your day 21 test at 4dpo! Preposterous! Idiots. Progesterone only peaks at 7dpo and this is why they take the blood then - to get the highest reading. If your score was 25 at 4dpo I would almost guarantee it was much better than that three days later. Don't worry.

Catwoman, we have all decided that it is impossible to tell if one is preggo from one's discharge in the 2ww. We do know the vagina likes to secrete the creamy stuff in preparation for a nice clean womb for the embryo to nestle in. So, no..you are definitely not out!

Thanks purdey They were going to 18, 21 and 24 day tests because my cycles were a bit irregular. So I rang on day 21 and they said I didn't need more bloods as my level was high enough. Phew.

Also purdey regarding what you said above about relaxing etc. So it is possible to get pg when anxious/stressed? I am always stupidly worried/anxious/stressed and feel that I will never get pg because constant stream of adrenaline etc rushing through me!

PS I read somewhere that when you are stressed your body sends out signals that it is not a good time to conceive... could be a load of rubbish!
