The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+ months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and definitely no mention of baby dust or baby dancing).
Those not abiding by the rules may be escorted from the premises.

Oops x post Wild - the growth hormone thing was included in the info I was reading the other day, it's to protect the quality of the eggs in short protocol for low amh/poor responders right? I will be pompoming madly for you too, good luck for Tuesday!

Pipbin · 14/02/2015 10:03

Great news Jellie
Exciting times Wild
So sorry Happy
Smidge don't forget that the Crinone has been blessed by ganesha and BinCat.

WildflowerMarmalade · 14/02/2015 10:31

Yes, Beaky that seems to be what it's for. The FC said it was to support growing follies and give an 'extra boost'.

Gillster · 14/02/2015 11:20

Would like to be a fly on the wall when you try and talk about your bodily functions with Mr Smidge, chortle.

Nothing unusual to note from my 2ww. Not particularly hopeful given how ill I've been.

TammySwanson · 14/02/2015 14:16

Sorry to hear bad news for happy Flowers

AF got me last night. Occasionally I get absolutely no AF symptoms and it arrives a few days early - this was one of those times. Caffeine binge for the next few days and then on to the next cycle.

beakybeak · 14/02/2015 14:23

Aww sorry to hear that Tammy remind me, have you been for investigations?

Gill when is otd on the day! for you? Do you then go straight back to the FC for the patches for your next cycle?

HB how are you doing? Been thinking of you Flowers

TammySwanson · 14/02/2015 15:11

beaky - We had usual NHS investigations (bloods/sperm/HSG/ and internal scan) a few years back which showed nothing untoward apart from slight PCOS on one side for which I take metformin. I want to repeat the blood tests before I turn 40 (in a few months' time) but am procrastinating/putting my head in the sand about it.

Gillster · 14/02/2015 18:11

Beaky - I don't have an OTD but AF is due next Sunday (not tomorrow). This is a bit of a pain as my hysteroscopy is due the day after and they won't do it if I'm bleeding. I'd have to rearrange the op and hope to start the patches on the following cycle.

Tammy - stop playing in the sand and get these blood tests sorted!

beakybeak · 14/02/2015 21:57

Yes Tammy, wot Gill said. These things are changeable anyway so I'd say get up to date checks sooner rather than later.

Gill I hope you are slightly late then and can get your frosties back on board soon.

I had a look to see what pg tests I had and I've 1 frer but it's gone out of date in January. Will it be ok to use?

barkingtreefrog · 14/02/2015 22:12

beaky I think more the question is would you trust the result? I can't imagine it would give you a false bfp, but if it was a bfn, would you believe it, or still have a nagging doubt?

I've just had a letter inviting me to book a smear test. At the last one the nurse was asking if I children and I told her we'd been trying but hadn't had any luck yet. 3 years on. Feels like a time warp.

Has anyone read the book Is My Body Baby Friendly? I don't know whether I want to read it knowing that the nhs probably won't support anything I might want to do with the information I read....

beakybeak · 14/02/2015 22:53

I'm fully expecting a bfn to be fair, but I have to go in for a blood test at the FC anyway, I just thought I'd test the day before anyway as it's a non working day.

Oh rubbish to the smear and 3 years plus barking. Flowers I think tiger may have read that book recently though?

Smidge001 · 15/02/2015 01:34

Off-white soon became constant browny beige, and now I've just had proper red blood on wiping.
Sad Sad

Pipbin · 15/02/2015 01:40

Noooo Smidge. Bollocks to that.
Refuse to let it happen.

So fucking unfair. How many days past transfer?

Smidge001 · 15/02/2015 07:20

4!!! Just a measly 4dp5dt Pip. Last time I made it to 5dp5dt (though actually I don't think it was quite so obvious red blood until a couple of days after that even). Down in the dumps here at Smidge central Sad. Feels as though each time is less successful than the last. No doubt AliG will say I still have to keep on the meds until my OTD in a week which is just rubbing salt in the wounds. I just ate 4 pieces of cake, but what I really want is to get hammered.

barkingtreefrog · 15/02/2015 07:32

Oh, smidge I'm so sorry Sad . Are you on progesterone?

Smidge001 · 15/02/2015 07:46

Yes, on progesterone (but it's never stopped my spotting before).
Also Clexane and prednisolone. (And 5mg frolic, calcium, mutivit, and CoQ10)

barkingtreefrog · 15/02/2015 08:06

Damn. It's funny how progesterone works in different people. I didn't start mc'ing until I stopped it, so it prevented bleeding then, but with my 2nd iui that failed I started bleeding before I stopped it.
I was hoping you could write it off as implantation bleeding if the progesterone was likely to mask anything else Sad . Thanks

tigerdog · 15/02/2015 08:40

smidge I'm sorry but I hope it doesn't necessarily mean the worst. Are you unexplained?

happy hope you're doing ok. Flowers

barking not read that book. Could be interesting though.

tammy have you tried acupuncture for pcos? I have friends who have had very real results (ie they have their babies) after acu to manage pcos.

jellie how's it going?

beaky when's otd for you?

Not much to report here, another quiet and cosy weekend, sorting house stuff and improving my gluten free baking skills. Cake

Pipbin · 15/02/2015 08:47

Barking - I finished gestone at 12 weeks and MC'd at 12.5.

barkingtreefrog · 15/02/2015 09:24

pip when I went in for the blood test on otd the nurse asked me how I was and I said I knew it had failed. She asked me if I was bleeding and I said no, I was on progesterone so I wouldn't, but I'd had a bfn. She said some women start bleeding whilst still on the progesterone. I started bleeding later that afternoon before I would have taken the next dose anyway. I thought it was strange that in me it masked a mc but didn't prevent AF.

WildflowerMarmalade · 15/02/2015 09:30

Sad Smidge - sorry to hear you have had bleeding. It seems strange, as you say, if things seem to be getting worse with each treatment rather than better. Look after yourself. Snuggle up to MrSmidge if it helps.

Feeling Angry at all the cr*p the Berries have been going through recently. Thanks all round.

barkingtreefrog · 15/02/2015 09:38

Tiger was it you who read and recommended The Mind Body Fertility Connection? I found that very interesting, but ultimately the message I took from it was that I couldn't get pg without the course of hypnotherapy that he says is important, so it actually made me more anxious (given I didn't go and have any, and maybe if I did the iui would have worked) rather than give me information I could do something about. I'm sure other people could read that book and just take a message about positive thinking, but it didn't work out that way for me.
The immunology stuff is worrying me again, but even if we pursued the private testing angle, I'm not sure we could do anything about the results during a nhs cycle of ivf?

beakybeak · 15/02/2015 09:54

Aww Smidge Flowers I really hope it's not what you think. Will you ring AliG to see what she has to say?

Tiger the gluten free baking sounds amazing! What did you make?

Jellie is it ET today?

Jelliebabe2 · 15/02/2015 11:48

Hi my lovely ladies. Big team hugs all round

Happy - sorry its not good news this time x

Smidge - can you get your progesterone levels tested before you stop taking it? You may not be getting/absorbing enough? X

Tammy - hugs to you too. Please get your tests done head in the sand won't get you any further forward x

AFM - day 3, all 8 still going. 4 at 8 cell and 4 at 4 cell all graded 1-2. I think that's good... Anyone know?

Were just about to get the train back to Prague. Free day tomorrow then transfer should be Tuesday! Grin. Keep those berry fingers xd

tigerdog · 15/02/2015 12:33

I hope everyone is doing ok today. I wish we could make sure that babies were handed out to those that deserved them most and not through some shitty lottery that is hugely unfair.

Yes barking it was me that recommended it. I found it helpful as I spent time trying to make peace with myself over ttc. I'm a total perfectionist and apparently very acheivement orientated, and I'm prone to anxiety. I felt like I'd got to a point where I was so unhappy about 'failing' to conceive that couldn't find any joy in life. I actually did have 6 sessions of therapy at the end of last year, focussing on processing some things that felt like emotional blocks and, although I was cynical at the time, I've realised I'm in a much happier place and I'm back in control of my feelings. I don't think it has to take hypnotherapy to get there though.

barkingyou can tell me to eff off but to me things look promising for you. You've really served your time, three plus long years sacrificing stuff to get your body ready, and all that waiting and limbo and treatment and the mc's. Now you're moving forward with IVF and armed with a diagnosis that will hopefully tackle your mc issues, and a plan for what you'll do next whatever the outcome. I will be crossing everything tightly for you in the next few months. I'll also be trying to maintain my own positive outlook as, easier said than done. I'm only one cycle away from Ivf and I'm scared!
