ffs ducky how dare she! Angry

poppet85 · 21/01/2015 09:46

Ducky thats stupid of her to say !! Surely babies get poorly no matter how they're fed . Silly lady

Cupcake92 · 21/01/2015 10:26

That's complete BS Ducky, she shouldn't have said that. Babies just have poor immune systems, they will catch all sorts. I hope he improves very quickly

Ducky it's rubbish, the most likely reason your son has a cold is because he's been back and forth to the GP! The amount of cold and flu in there and he will pick it up easily. Honestly some people really can't put two and two together.

If anyone said that to me they'd get a colourful reply!

Siarie · 21/01/2015 10:33

Obviously there is a small increase in immunity with breast milk but lots of people can't breastfeed or don't want to breastfeed and there is no way of knowing whether that extra bit of immunity would make any difference in this case. Just in case anyone is interested in the science lol.

Ducky23 · 21/01/2015 11:00

Thanks guys. It pissed me off because of how stressed I have been about it all. I said haven't you had a bloody cold in your life!? You were breastfed!

The dr said he has a bit of a high temp and his got something on his chest so he has anti biotics now Smile

Cupcake92 · 21/01/2015 12:42

Aw bless him Ducky Flowers get better soon little duckling!

Well looks like I'm not testing today as my postman hasn't bothered to turn up today. Honestly they are bloody useless these days!!

cupcake by the sounds of your post you'd think you live in the middle of no where. I'm in Costa having lunch and I've brought the macbook so I can work on my blog, browse mums net and play for time on Facebook Grin.

There is this annoying hum in our apartment, apparently it's due to everyone in the building not using their air conditioning in the winter months. So it makes a humming sound where they store all the equipment. In a bit of a battle with the building management company now as It's annoying and frankly they need to sort it out lol.

Since getting pregnant everyone seems to have advice on how to parent, I've worked out that I just don't ask and even then people throw things in here and there. I'm stubborn though so I just let things slide mostly but I had no idea this world existed! I'd like to keep my first time mum imaginary "it will work out like this world" in my head thank you!

Cupcake92 · 21/01/2015 18:09

No just a useless postie Siarie Grin

I'm off out tonight with work! 1st ive been out in a very long time!! :) and 1st time I've been out on my own without DH!! Can't wait! It's only for a meal but it's all paid for by the GP's! :)

They must be nice employers Cupcake! Have a lovely time.

You all sound like you are almost organised for your babies arriving.

Ducky, ignore your MIL. She has never sounded very nice. You are doing a fantastic job. I am bottle feeding and do not feel one little bit guilty.

DS smiled today. He definitely did. We both saw it. You would think he had got a degree from Oxford the way DH has gone on about it. Now we are watching for him to do it again but he is not playing the game. DH is almsot turning cartwheels to entertain him and DS looks uninterested. Smile I am entertained though. I have identified 5 different animal impressions so far. The Tiger made Ds's bottom lip tremble but a wail was avoided with a cuddle.

LuluJakey1 · 21/01/2015 20:23

Sairie, I couldnot stand a humming noise. It would drive me round the twist. Hope they sort that out.

Ducky23 · 21/01/2015 21:20

That could be a good thing that they didn't come cupcake Smile

Oh lulu be prepared for when he gets his first cold, it's horrible Confused I feel so sorry for him! I definitely wasn't expecting it to be like this Hmm

LuluJakey1 · 21/01/2015 21:44

I think I will panic completely if he gets ill with anything - the first time at least. I am given to over- thinking and worrying about health things at the best of times.

Your poor little duckling. Hopefully it will i prove in the next couple of days when the antibiotics kick in. Are you getting some sleep Ducky?

Cupcake92 · 21/01/2015 23:03

I'm back :) unfortunately DS wasn't in bed! He wouldn't go down at all for my mom so ive had to sort it.

How DS ducky?

And yes Lulu they are very nice :) very chatty GP's lol! Aww their 1st smile is amazing!! :)

Well he hasn't done it since Cupcake!

This could be TMI but DH and I have DTD today. We just got a bit carried away this afternoon when we were having a lie down while DS was asleep. We were worried incase it hurt but it didn't and we just relaxed and it was just as good as usual Grin Think we are both relieved more than anything.

Phew!

iamdivergent · 22/01/2015 08:03

Well done lulu think I was about 6wks after DD1 (mil had taken her a walk) and about 9 with dd2 Blush it wasn't sore, I was nervous though but glad to get it over with!

iamdivergent · 22/01/2015 08:03

I assume you used protection? I had to go get the map Blush Blush Blush

Ducky23 · 22/01/2015 08:15

Ds is still poorly Sad I'm hoping the anti biotics start to work today, he looks shattered (and me!)

Haha lulu that's the first thing I thought! I hope you used protection! Grin

I still couldn't think about DTD, I know they're probably healed but I just keep thinking anything I do will rip my stitches open Blush

Siarie · 22/01/2015 12:27

I've had some terrible news this morning but my MIL wants to tell my DH herself this evening. I have no idea how I'm going to not give it away!

My cleaner is coming at 1pm so I suppose I'll have time to practice my "everything is fine" face.

Cupcake92 · 22/01/2015 12:29

Well done Lulu Grin its nerve racking the 1st time after childbirth lol!!

Bfn this morning ! 11 dpo
