OMG lulu congratulations Mr Lulu you must both be over the moon Thanks Thanks Thanks

LuluJakey1 · 30/12/2014 17:08

Thanks everyone. It was all a bit unexpected- and yes you were right about the backache. Grin
DH went to sleep but I could not settle and I was just freezing. In the end I got up and went in the shower to try to warm up and direct some hot water on my back to see if that would ease it. DH heard me and came in to the bahroom to see what I was doing. I got out of the shower and my waters broke- all over the floor and his feet. Grin I got back in the shower and he cleaned up- he was panicing a bit by then and giving me stupid instructions which were making me laugh.
We stayed at home for a while but the pains were quite close together and getting stronger so we rang the hospital and they said to come in. DH drove at about 20 miles an hour because of the icy roads! Got here about 5.00 am and was 6 cm. I walked around a lot- couldn't bear lying down. It was really painful at times but managed with just gas and air and breathing. DH was fab, absolutely a rock when I got exhausted. He just kept me going. Got a bit much at the end and I did swear at him apparently and told him we are never ever having sex again and the whole thing was his fault and if my fanjo fell out I would hold him personally responsible Confused no idea at all what I was saying The midwife was wonderful. She kept me calm and focussed and I really trusted her.
Then DH was saying 'I can see him. He's got loads of dark hair Lu, loads of it. ' and suddenly we were holding DS and we were both crying and DS was the only person who was composed.
Tiny tear, no stitches- hurrah!

He is the sweetest, most beautiful little boy. He has been really quiet and content and very settled. Has fed well. We have both given him bottles and both changed nappies. He has had his check up and been pronounced absolutely fine. I can't quite believe he is here.

We were not going to have any visitors but once he was here we just want PIL to share this and see him today. They are so excited about him. DH rang them and they have got the train up and should be here soon. They are going straight back tonight but they both cried when he rang them and said.

I feel very very emotional. I can't stop looking at him. He is so tiny and perfect. We are probably going home tomorrow. DH is staying tonight. The sister said he can as we have a room. We paid for it but it has been so worth it.

When I waddle into the loo, it feels like all my insides are going to fall out. The bleeding isn't as bad as I expected. Hmm

Ducky23 · 30/12/2014 17:46

That's ace lulu Smile how many weeks were you in the end? Was it 39?

Wonderful news Smile glad it wasn't too bad for you either. Did you settle on a name?

Speaking of bleeding I thought it was all over, it had stopped for 2 days but started again today Hmm booo!

21questions · 30/12/2014 17:53

Congratulations Lulu! I'm so pleased for you. What a lovely birth and you were already 6cm's when you went in, over half way already done.

Well done to both of you and can't wait to hear how you get on

bradders85 · 30/12/2014 18:12

congratulations lulu - great news!! Pleased everything went well Grin

Bearsinmotion · 30/12/2014 18:28

We had a room when DD was born, it was bliss! It was such a relief as well to know she was safe. Make the most of the newborn snuggles, seems like yesterday that DD was born and now she's nearly 3!

Cupcake- I wouldn't have described it as lovely exactly but I know it could have been a lot worse. Smile All worth it for my precious little boy.
PIL have been- lots of tears and hugs and smiles and photos/ videos. DS has been held and passed round and seemed quite happy about it. Has had a poopy nappy which I dealt with very efficiently I thought. Not much to it really because he has not had much to eat yet.
DH has walked them to the station- he needs the fresh air and a bit of time to himself I think. He is very emotional. So am I. I so want my mum to be here- I just well up thinking about it. MIL gave me big hug and said 'I wish your mum was here with us all Lulu but I am sure she is and she is very proud of you and DS'. That made me cry.
Anyway, just me and DS, who is lying wiggling his fingers and looking quite puzzled and perplexed. He smells so lovely and he sort of snuggles into me. He made little whingey noises when he wanted his feed and I spotted a huffy lip I think. I am so glad he is here and he is safe. I was really worried something would go wrong.
DH is going to get us some nice food on the way back. The hospital stuff is yucky and they don't feed him anyway. So we are getting a chinese takeaway from Newcastle's China Town which is near the hospital.
I am aching and very stingy down below. Have had some painkillers and I suppose it is normal but really achey and still having contraction things. Weeing on a tear is not nice- ouch!

Cupcake92 · 30/12/2014 20:46

Aaww bless Lulu Flowers im glad he's here and well and glad ur well too :) im weird and absolutely Love hospital food! Hope u both manage to sleep well tonight as best as u can :)

Lulu the contraction type feeling is your womb shrinking basically. It does that for a few days at least. If you can, get a jug of warm water and pour over your bits when you pee, it helps with the stinging Thanks just make sure you take it easy lovely Smile

iamdivergent · 30/12/2014 21:19

Haha cupcake my best meal ever was the meal I had when in hospital with hg at 7 wks pg with dd2, had lost over a stone in weight, couldn't keep anything down - I got two anti sickness jabs and was able to eat my first meal in about 11 days without throwing it back up! was roast chicken, potatoes and veg with loads gravy then apple pie and custard for afters - amazing haha.

I was on the anti sickness tablets 6 times a day for the rest of my pregnancy, that's my only issue really about getting pregnant again, I work somewhere that I don't have easy access to a bathroom so ms will not be fun! will need to get on a docs asap if I start to feel sick!

Cupcake92 · 31/12/2014 05:18

Ooo Iam the roast chicken is lovely!! I had that one time but was a bit unsure whether id like it but it was actually really nice! Even the chicken wasn't dry! Grin
After my csection I wasn't allowed to eat for like 24 hours as they said I'd be sick, so the first meal I properly ate was a lamb hotpot and my god it was the best meal ever Grin and lemon sponge and custard!! yum yum! :)

Ducky23 · 31/12/2014 05:36

I hated the meals! But I did loose weight there Grin

Bearsinmotion · 31/12/2014 06:25

Yes, not looking forward to the hospital food! Hope you get to go home soon Lulu!

Cupcake92 · 31/12/2014 06:43

Well Ducky that's good! Grin wish I lost weight straight after child birth haha Grin

Me n DS have been up since 4:30am as he's been sick. I can still smell it all over the house it bloody stinks! But he won't go back to sleep and he looks exhausted bless him. He's been cured with a bottle of warm milk and is sat drinking it now snuggling his teddy :)

aw poor ds cupcake hope he picks up soon Smile

LuluJakey1 · 31/12/2014 10:22

Ds woke us 3 times last night between 11.00 and 5.30. He went to sleep at 11, woke about 1, had a feed, woke about half 3, had a feed and woke about half 5 again. He didn't go straight back to sleep either. DH was explaining life to him for quite a while after the 1 oclock feed. I just want to go home. We are exhausted and he hasn't been here a day yet. Smile

He makes very cute little snuffley noises and wiggles his fingers and feet a lot.(DS not DH) Midwife says he is glad to have a bit of space. She says he will 'unpack' a bit yet like clothes afer they come out of a suitcase- some of the wrinkles will fall out. I do like her. She is funny and very nice and kept me really focussed.

DH thinks he is the 'prettiest baby here'. He hasn't even seen the others Grin. He is DH's double. MIL showed me a couple of photos last night of DH when he was a few days old and he is his double. We have got his things out ready to get him dressed to go home and DH has brought the car seat up so it can warm up a bit. It is freezing here today. He is putting his owl sleep suit on and a cardigan his GG knitted him with a snowsuit thing over the top and a hat and mitts. DH has slipped his Bradford City sleepsuit and hat into the bag but said he didn't really think I would let him wear them home.

I asked DH to do it Cupcake, he didn't do it off his own bat. But he's good like that. He is genuinely nice and thoughtful.

We can go home soon. They are expecting a busy night so will be glad to have the room back I think.

Will check in later if we cope when we get home.

LuluJakey1 · 31/12/2014 10:24

Oh and sorry about your DS being poirly. Hope he is OK now. That is something I am not looking forward to - vomit! I am usually sick myself if someone is sick.

Siarie · 31/12/2014 13:48

Must be a great feeling lulu to have him here. I'm kind of done with pregnancy now (I know early right?). I'm starting to have problems with my round ligaments now which is annoying and painful!

Really uncomfortable to walk unless I don't walk the day before and rest then it's ok. Literally feels like when you pull a muscle or tear one

LuluJakey1 · 31/12/2014 14:28

We have been out for a walk to the village to pick up some odds and ends and get some fresh air. He slept all the way through it like a little Michelin man.

The power of paracetemol - hardly achey at all. I have managed to fit ito a stretchy pinafore and nice thick control tights and feel 'held in place'.

DH is now doing bottle while I watch 'Death Comes to Pemberly'. I have said I will do nappy change.

Cats have had a look at him and are uninterested. Smile
