Jess I love that you've been poas since 3dpoGrin good luck.

Just spoke to dp, he says he'll try and get home for 10pm tonight but he also said 'I'm really not in the mood!!'
Think I realised that as he went to sleep without even giving me a kiss last night.
Looks like I'll have my work cut out later, wish me luckWink

MrsE, might take a leaf out of your book and go for doggy, can't be arsed with him when he's in this mood, think I'd prefer it if I didn't have to look at him Grin

Spinning if he's not in the mood or working loads talk him into doing what we did! Get him to do the old DIY into the soft cups and the rest is down to you Grin

spinningirl10 · 09/10/2014 12:30

Hi Linda, yeh I could try that but he actually doesn't like doing it himself! Sometimes I get him almost to end and then jump onBlushsorry far tmi!

I'm just wondering if I'm getting a surge because of the soy but will maybe ov more of my usual time (cd10/11) just have to wait and see I guess and keep doing ov sticks.

jackie I still drink in the TWW. I think I said to DH last night 'yes you should open a bottle of decent wine, at some stage I won't be able to drink for ages so I had better have the good stuff while I still can!' it was lovely wine too

MaGratgarlik1983 · 09/10/2014 12:47

Hello ladies - well I caved and tested yesterday at 12 dpo and it was negative :( Last time with my chemical pg it had come up positive by then but I actually wonder if my bosy was trying to do everything too quickly and burnt itself out?? So 13dpo now and feel really disappointed because I feel really pg if that makes sense...not as strong symptoms as last time but my bbs are really sore, feel hot, nauseous, sense of smell heightened, and had sharp pains / twinges all this week in abdomen. It's odd, probably all in my head!

broodylicious · 09/10/2014 12:49

I'm also in the camp of drinking caffeine and alcohol, eating homemade coleslaw, deli meats, sushi and so on until the bfp arrives. It will not make a jot of difference to bean at such an early stage so why deny yourself these small pleasures when you'll have at least eight months of not having them, more if you breastfeed bubba. IMO, denying yourself will just make you more miserable if you don't get your bfp. ranting now, shut up broody

Seems there's a few of us due our bfps in the coming week/10 days. Keeping everything crossed so we can join mrse and sunbathing on the June AN thread!

butterflycats · 09/10/2014 12:57

Actually guys, the alcohol does most "harm" early in pregnancy!

spinningirl10 · 09/10/2014 13:04

Magrat sorry for bfn, it could still be too early for you. It's shit when you feel all the symptoms and still get a bfnThanks

Broody completely agree with you there. I don't really drink alcohol though unless I'm on a night out. I also only drink one or two cups of coffee a day or it makes me shaky! Can't stand tea so I drink water or hot water with a slice of lemon.

Afternoon all.

spinning don't panic you have time. keep testing and temping. I think us girls are having to become pretty adept at charming our DHs! lol at pvc to lunch Grin

april glad you are feeling better today.

lucie I think your plan sounds sensible. Even just picking a clinic is a minefield I've found.

Thank you to all you ic opk guru's. I kept testing last night and got a darkish line so dtd and this morning got my peak. going to keep dtd for the next 3 or 4 days, keep poas and temping and hopefully will see ov and the surge go down. This month I am not only obsessed by charts but by opks too lol.

I do drink during the tww - not loads but the odd glass. We've been "properly" trying for 11 long months now and that would be very miserable indeed to cut out all life's pleasures. I guess it's ok if you are a lucky one who gets their bfp quickly but not for 11 months. I'm sure I've read in the v v v early stages it's doesn't really affect things, but I'd stop as soon as I got a bfp for sure.

gennibugs · 09/10/2014 13:08

Oh and i cannot live without my cups of tea. Though I have drastically cut down and try to drink redbush where i can!

I actually saw a baby with fetal alcohol syndrome and mum had only drank in the first 3 weeks from conception, it's rare but does happen. The alcohol actually does more harm earlier on, as the main structures develop. But the risks are still small! It also increases the risk of miscarriage. I haven't drunk for 11 months anyway, so think I might as well continue! However if you tried to take my Diet coke off me..!!!
Perhaps this is where I should admit I'm a GP and used to work in obstetrics!!!!

Yeh she did! Probably more than my brother on a booze cruise!!!

Jessica85 · 09/10/2014 13:28

butterfly, how does that work? The placenta doesn't even begin to develop until the embryo implants, so how does alcohol actually get to it?

butterflycats · 09/10/2014 13:29

www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/alcohol-medicines-drugs-pregnant.aspx

This is the guidance, but the risks are tiny.... If I could drink and was going out, I wouldn't feel bad about the glass of wine :) so many pregnancies are unplanned (jealous!) and babies are fine :)

butterflycats · 09/10/2014 13:34

Alcohol reduces likelihood of implantation jessica which is why I personally don't for those 2 weeks xx

Jackiebrambles · 09/10/2014 13:43

Well I had no idea when I was pregnant the first time, because I did a test and it was negative. So I went out and drank! (quite a lot!). We were 'trying' I suppose but I had only just come off the pill so I was waiting for my first period before I could start tracking ovulation etc.

The following week I did a test and got a bfp - a '2-3 weeks' on a Clearblue. I stopped drinking straight away of course.

I was clueless, I didn't know that taking normal multi vitamins was a bad early in early pregnancy (something to do with vit A I think?) and I also booked myself in for a massage and was told I couldn't have it because I was pregnant!

Throughout my pregnancy I had probably 3 small glasses of wine (and I had those in the latter months). I also discovered a Waitrose low alchohol cider which was quite nice!

Jackiebrambles · 09/10/2014 13:44

How much does it reduce implantation likelihood by Jessica? And would it be alcohol in your bloodstream on the day of the attempted implantation?
