Well I was really surprised to read this morning that you can ovulate but still not be able to get pregnant because the hormone levels are not right due to bf Really hope that is not true!

Hello, would it possibly be ok to join? I'm a bit new to this so I'll have to read back through the thread to try and pick up on the lingo!

I've just got my first period since my daughter was born just over a year ago and would really like to start TTC because I'm really not looking forward to going back to work . She loves the boob so not really sure how to stop breastfeeding or if I want to yet, but as it took a while to get pregnant last time I'm really keen to start trying. It's so nice to know I'm not alone in trying to do both!

That's worrying pear. I do wonder whether I should fully wean to give myself the best chance possible. Time is not on my side, in terms of my age and the possible age gap. On the other hand, if I weaned but still didn't conceive I would feel sad.

Ummm a lot! She'd started to space feeds out longer, but then was ill and went off her food so ramped it up again. Slightly concerned to read that nighttime feeding is the worst for fertility as I do a lot of that. I'm my own worst enemy because I'm meant to be going back to work the start of the month, so I really should've started cutting down by now anyway, but I'm just crap at saying no!

Ah feathernest I am exactly the same. Started back at work in January and daytime feeds have been cut right back and DS regularly goes 12 hours but come 3am when he is bawling for booby my resolve weakens and sometimes he ends up in our bed latched on through the night. Sometimes I think he knows what he is doing and is trying to remain an old child.

DS slept for 12 hours last night (something he does once a month) so this morning i had FMU for once and have got a very very faint BFP on an Internet cheapie. DH can see it but am definitely doubtful until I do a proper test! I would have thought the line would be darker by now. Though am only 14 days post ov.

Welcome Feather don't worry - we are all in the same boat. I had almost no sleep last night due to DD screeching and then coming in our bed and pawing at me. Totally shattered today...

OK so can someone tell me what is going on:
Yesterday and the day before I've had proper EWCM. Currently on CD 16. Think my cervix is high as I could barely find it last night. Temps are still low and have remained low since AF so have not ovulated yet. I would have thought things were gearing up BUT CBFM says that I am not even having high fertility. WTF? I might post all this in a new thread on the conception board to see if anyone has experience of these things being wrong. Last night was a terrible night with limited sleep and I drank loads of water because I was up and had a sore throat so maybe it's diluted...?

Frazzled I would definitely post on conception and see if anyone more knowledgeable can shed some light!

I had two wilkos freedom tests and did one and it didn't come
Up with any line so did the other and BFN. But when I looked at the first one which was After 10 minutes it was positive! But I checked after the 5 minute window. So still not sure. Going to buy some more today as soon as I can ditch DS with granny!

Xpost. So presumably ovulated on 30 Jan, today light pink watery bleeding when wiping? Not spotting, but not heavy enough to appear except when going to the loo either (so far.)
Implantation, CP, AF? What's the verdict?

Welcome feather and omg hide! I am almost more excited for you about the 12hr sleep than the bfp, but it is close call!
frazzled is your DC my DC? Because that's pretty much what happened last night. (And then early mornig DC spent a lot of time kicking at my uterus while drinking lying next I me and I was all like "does it matter? Nope probably not" and now I'm bleeding and feeling pissed off. )

Austral ugh. Last night was a disaster. I actually lay there thinking "I am insane. I can barely cope with one child. I need to sleep. What are we doing even contemplating another baby?!" but of course, in the cold light of day I really want another one! Not sure about the bleeding... when is your AF due again? Have you POAS?

Pear hopefully. Did a FR OPK this afternoon and only one line. The test line is almost like an evap so apparently no hormones in my system at all. Yet something is creating the EWCM.
Shall we both ovulate and conceive a sticky bean on Saturday? I think that would work for me.

Ok DH has bought me two CB tests but I am not allowed to test until tomorrow.

Meanwhile (TMI) I have diarrhoea. Not sure why cos haven't eaten anything dodgy! No sign of AF.

If I am preggo then it's good news for all you ladies still feeding through the night cos DS is a night monster!

This is probably TMI but I had "morning sickness" that, erm, went both ways IYSWIM . So could be a sign!!!!! The hormones can definitely have that effect.

Perhaps this thread will be dead next month because we will all have our BFPs with sticky beans that will be born easily and painlessly and live happily and healthily to a ripe old age all the while maintaining a great relationship with their dear old Mum

HIdE!!!! What are you playing at!! Go find that stick and pee! Can't believe you're going to keep us in suspense until the morning ?? I reckon it is a BFP. My killer sign is the exact opposite...constipation. Really really really bad. So severe I ended up in hospital as they thought the constipation pains might be a ectopic pregnancy. Thankfully not.

Ah frazzled why indeed! Life on hold and no sleep! Feck it all! Just want to run away sometimes!
AF due date is a mystery as this would be the first cycle! So I guess getting hopes up anyway that we managed to conceive first go, but the OPKs seemed to tell a good story in the end.
Clearly fwiw everyone the massive cutdowns on bf I did worked, whether or not this is implantation or AF starting. So the drastic route is doable! Mind you, I went from on demand and basically 23hrs per day (DC slept the remaining 1 hr ) to two/three feeds per day only. But doable if like me you are desperate to get the next one in there ASAP!
I secretly hope that I can up the bfing again if I fall pregnant, although I hear that your milk diminishes normally.

I'm worried i have got my hopes up! Just done an internet cheapie and negative... Does anyone know if CB tests are ones you need FMU for? I don't want to waste one!

hide as far as I understand it while you can technically poas any time of the day and on any stick, fmu is more concentrated and so the hormone is more easily picked up by the test. Alternatively you can just try not to go to the loo for four to six hours during the day and that will be a good test sample too.

This may of course be difficult.

Hide ~ the cheapie sticks didn't pick up my BFP for days. The clear blue pregnancy picked it up at dpo12 at midday.

I got a darker line on the OPK and some change in cm this afternoon so I expect to see high fertility on my monitor in the morning!! Last month I think it went straight to peak which was just weird! Anyway, I'll be Dtd tonight with a stinking cold...yay

Ok thank you guys! Going to wait until morning and I guess what will be will be.. Tomorrow is the first official day AF is late anyway...
