AF is due today, I've been patient and waited and not tested yet. No AF yet but I had cramps a bit earlier on. No other bloating and tenderness etc which I usually get. Unusually greasy skin for two weeks. Been clumsy and forgetful today but that might be lack of sleep for the last couple of nights.

I've had no alcohol at all for two weeks, because I'd got into the habit of drinking every evening and thought I really should have some time off and break the habit. I'd sort of promised myself some wine tonight when AF arrived, but since she hasn't yet I think I'm just going to POAS, get a bfn and then go out for some wine.

I really don't think I'm pregnant, but will be very happy if I am. Would like some company though, just in case I get an unexpected bfp and my whole life is turned thrillingly upside down in a few minutes from now...

Thank you so much, I'd have been alone with this for quite a while without mumsnet. DP lives in a different city, if I want to tell him in person I'll have to wait a few weeks. I think I do, and I sort of want to let it settle in myself first before I tell anyone in real life.

Heartbreaking that I can't tell my mum, who died a couple of years ago. She so wanted grandchildren Sad

catsofa · 21/08/2014 23:58

How should I tell my DP? I don't think I want to hand him a stick I've peed on, and he's already a dad so something saying "You're a dad!" would just be confusing...

Sorry about your mum, catsofa

BiscuitMillionaire · 21/08/2014 23:59

Were you trying to conceive? Does he want another child?

slithytove · 22/08/2014 00:05

Google will have lots of ways to tell.
Were you actively trying?

catsofa · 22/08/2014 00:07

Thanks. I knew this would be hard without her.

Yes we were TTC, and yes he wants another.

A bib/sleepsuit saying I love daddy?

catsofa · 22/08/2014 00:09

I thought we weren't shagging enough though, due to being in different cities, which we're starting to sort out... I guess now we have a house moving deadline!

Baby brain starting early Grin

slithytove · 22/08/2014 00:12

Done a due date calculator yet?

BiscuitMillionaire · 22/08/2014 00:13

"What are we doing next April?"
"Dunno, why?"
"Just wanted to check because that's when the baby's due" Grin

catsofa · 22/08/2014 00:15

I've been a bit fick all day, I thought it was cos I was due on. Will I be like this for nine months now?

Off to find a due date calculator, never seen one before...

LOL Biscuit that's good, but I think he'd shit himself every subsequent time I ever said "What are you doing on friday..."!

OP posts:
catsofa · 22/08/2014 00:19

I just realised I must have conceived in a tent :)

slithytove · 22/08/2014 00:20

Nine months and then some, and it's not a myth!

Apparently it's 2 years per child. Im on my third baby in 3 years, I'll never get my brain back

catsofa · 22/08/2014 00:22

Due 30th April. I am four weeks pregnant - I only just found out the other day about it being calculated from way before you're actually pregnant, how mad is that?

catsofa · 22/08/2014 00:24

What if you have a pretty random brain to begin with?

Do I want to sign up for the NHS pregnancy emails?

What else is good for learning about pregnancy from the beginning? I really have no clue, I just sort of thought a baby would be cute... Wink

OP posts:
catsofa · 22/08/2014 00:28

Oh shit, what do I do about the cat litter? Aren't you supposed to avoid when pregnant?

OP posts:
slithytove · 22/08/2014 00:36

Haha ok.

Do the cats go outside? Just wear gloves and avoid breathing it in.
I don't like the NHS emails, I have mumsnet updates and I think baby centre ones? Not sure. Sign up to a few and see what you like.

Mother and baby clubs are good - boots, tesco, etc.

Dd was born 26 April :) nice month for it.

Better start house hunting!

catsofa · 22/08/2014 00:49

One very indoor cat, and having read about it a bit it'd be an absolute miracle if I hadn't had toxoplasmosis already, so probably not too much of a risk. I'll get some gloves, I already hold my breath while I do it!

So much to think about, I think I'll sign up for some emails just to get a few pokes about all the million things I haven't thought of yet.

Work is going to be so weird tomorrow, thank god it's a long weekend.

Going to go to bed and try to calm down enough to sleep now. Thanks for the company!

Congratulations again Thanks

Muddledandunsure · 22/08/2014 17:08

Congratulations.

catsofa · 22/08/2014 17:37

Thank you all... it is slowly sort of starting to sink in. This was what this morning's POAS fest looked like, I think I am probably pregnant! Have made a GP appointment, can't go to any of the Children's Centre stuff because it's all during office hours when I'll be working.

Figured out how to deal with the excitement at work - Kegel exercises!
