Katy I am no expert but I am wondering if you have ovulated later around when you get the ewcm, so I am wondering if that is why your getting bfn, so with a bit of luck your BFP is round the corner, I took my last pill in the end of December and my cycles were all over the place, either early or late, it's just your body getting used to doing it for its self so try not to worry, I think the more you stress the longer your period stays away, I haven't tried temping or opks yet just using an app and looking out for ewcm, I am on the Ovia app and you add in all your information and over time it learns your moods, and discharge and predicts when your fertile time is due, take it easy and hope you find your BFP soon x x

KittyVonCatsington · 25/08/2014 21:33

genni, if you're still reading on this bus, I wanted to say how heartbroken I am AF arrived on Sat to you. Please, whatever you do, keep hold of that hope.
Even if it means you need to have medical assistance, you are still just one cycle closer to getting your baby. I am going to keep a close tabs on you chick but make sure you let the wonderful gang on the September bus, support you Thanks

MaMaPo · 26/08/2014 03:50

Well bugger - I'm out, and on 11DPO. Didn't really know if I was in to begin with, but FF had predicted AF/BFP on August 30, so we're 4 days early again. I can't work out what's going on.

Can someone help? I had a few 28-day cycles, then the last 2 (or now, 3) cycles have been 23-24 days. To work out what was going on I used OPKs from CD5 and temped this cycle. Never got a positive OPK (or even a hint of one - nada) but got a big temp rise after CD14, so FF interpreted that as ovulation.

Had lots of weird feelings in my breasts for the last week and some olfactory changes, so I have been holding out for 14DPO to test. But now, no point. Goddamn AF.

So does this mean a luteal phase of 11 days, if indeed I ever ovulated? Is that long enough?

Feeling a bit crap TBH.

KittyVonCatsington · 26/08/2014 07:34

Can you post a pic of your chart Ma so I can take a look?

My first thought was an anovulatory cycle with no positive OPK but with a clear temp shift, that is unlikely. How many months have you charted? FF will adjust the days it thinks you will ovulate or get AF the more it gets a pattern of you.

An 11dpo luteal phase is not something to be terrible worried about. However, that used to be me-i'd ovulate around CD20 then often get AF 11 days later. One of the reasons I tried Soy Isoflavones to bring forward ovulation as I was worried my lining was getting a bit too "old" to support any growing bean, hence a shorter LP.

bubalou · 26/08/2014 07:46

Ma - I think vitamin b6 among some other things can help with this.

Obviously I'm no doctor but it shouldn't take much research to find out.

MaMaPo · 26/08/2014 08:49

Thanks kitty, for sticking around! I hope you're hanging aroun on your antenatal thread too!

This is the first cycle I've temped - just kept notes of period onset etc previously.

Let's see if this works -

MaMaPo · 26/08/2014 08:52

Hmm - doesn't look like the attachment worked. I'll come back in an hour or so and try again. In the middle of toddler dinner and bath time!

KittyVonCatsington · 26/08/2014 09:13

Otherwise, press the More button on FF and select the Share Chart option. Copy and paste the web address it produces and post it here Grin

Good luck with your little one this morning!

MaMaPo · 26/08/2014 09:54

Top tip kitty, but it only seems to display the current cycle (which is only a day old!).

Let me try this again. stupid mobile site

Thanks sunbathing nag angelham, I think u r right that I ovulated cd27 so therefore a for bfp cd40 aaaahhhhh. If that is case I don't think I'm on for bfp don't feel any symptoms and no cm yest which I read would n unusual for those expecting bfp's.

Will continue to research stuff to regulate cycle. At the mo soy, Angus castus and dong quia seem most regularly used. Kitty I know soy was great for u so I'm tempted by this but there seem some folk warning people off it. How did u make the call?

KittyVonCatsington · 26/08/2014 11:03

I'm on my mobile Ma so will have a proper look when I get home in a bit xx

Katy - I made the call by lots if research, lots of cycles charted so I knew what was going on with my body and choosing Soy for the main reason that my pre-ov temps were very very high, causing late ov and poor progesterone as a result. I knew that it might have similar issues to Clomid like cysts, but was prepared to take the risk as although cysts can be painful, they go away naturally and most of us have them in some form anyway. I knew not to take them long term but most people i read got their bfp cycle 1 or 2 after taking so was prepared to stop 3rd cycle if no bfp.

If your pre-ov temps are fine and you ovulate normally, you'd have no reason to take Soy anyway. But they gave me a perfect cycle to give me a better chance of catching and keeping that egg. Xx Soy Isos aren't a magic pregnancy 'cure' but like other supplements, help certain issues to some women. Besides, we are all going to have to take them when we reach menapause anyway! Hope this helps, lovely

EnglishGirlsReturned · 26/08/2014 11:22

Ma - I'd say you did ovulate at cd 14, which would give you a 10 day lp. Track your next few cycles, to see if this is normal for you. It is slightly on the shorter side of normal but Drs generally arent too worried by a 10 lp so you shouldn't either. Hope that helps [smile

ohlordyplordy · 26/08/2014 11:56

11dpo and a bfn on an ic -will try frer again tomorrow.
Temp down a bit this am but still above coverline, hoping it doesn't drop further tomorrow.
Still white cm but no other real symptoms so I'm not feeling hopeful. Hope some ladies get bfp today to cheer me up x

KittyVonCatsington · 26/08/2014 12:32

Ma-totally agree with English you def ovulated CD14 which is v encouraging and your LP is 10 days (the 11th day counts as CD1 so the LP is always the day before AF starts) and technically shouldn't be an issue at all as your lining is nice and healthy having ovulated at the right time. The post ov temps rise well and don't seem anything to worry about.

The only tip I would give is to try to DTD a little more around ov time (I can see you DTD the day before and two days before ov but not on ov or after) Now you know roughly when ovulation will be, try to DTD CD14, CD15 and CD17 as well if you can! Remember, that although some sperm lives up to 5 days, most only live 24 hours and an egg lives an average of 12 hours so timing is v hard Grin

Oh and don't worry about no positive OPKs, sometimes the surge is so short we miss it!

xBlueberry88x · 26/08/2014 12:39

KITTY how did I miss your BFP omg im so happy for you!!!!

It couldnt happen to a lovelier person :)

KittyVonCatsington · 26/08/2014 13:02

Mmmm, David Tennant

Remember if you have implanted only recently, you may not get a BFP yet SunbathingCat so I really hope you get one in the next few days!

Katybear123 · 26/08/2014 14:30

Hey kitty thanks so much for the tip. I think I need a few more cycles letting old Mother Nature do her work. I don't want to but I think I have confused it enough with 17 yrs on the pill so I guess I just have t wait. :-(

Don't be too down Katy. I was on the pill for 12 years before coming off to ttc no1.

They said not to even ttc for 6 months at least as it would still be in my system etc.

By month 5 - I was pg. Wink
