I've ordered it today as today is 12th month of trying after having AF. Has anyone used it or interested in using it? I like how it works it all out for you as I don't want to spend all that time stressing over learning how to chart myself. You poas when it tells you and insert the stick into the machine and it interprets it for you. Gives you a few high chance days and then the lh surge days. Measures oestrogen and lh. Also can test for pregnancy. You can input when you dtd too and a light and alarm can remind you.

I really like gadgets and technology anyway. If it works I don't care how much it costs. Anyone have any experience with it already? I don't think it's been put long.

Had a strange cycle this month - I usually get 3 or 4 highs then peak, this cycle I got 7 highs then af arrived on day 17 when for the last 15 months I've had regular cycles with 26 to 27 days.

Also hello again ladies.

My first month using the monitor. I had highs from day 6 til 1st peak on day 16. Is dtd only on 1 peak enough I'm thinking I've missed my ov as didn't dtd until night but got peak with fmu. Oh well least I ov and I was slightly out thinking I ov on day 14 when its 16. What strategies is everyone else using with dtd and the cbf?

MaMaPo · 31/10/2014 19:33

Hi Mikeys. This is my first cycle as well. I only had 2 highs and 2 peaks (starting testing late) so we planned to DTD eod for high days, and daily for peaks. That's what we ended up doing, which only made for 3 goes in the end! Fx!

Joey0805 · 04/11/2014 16:51

I have a couple of questions on the pregnancy testing element of my CBFM:

  1. How sensitive are the tests compared to a FRER for example?
  2. If not quite sure when AF is due but I'm 13 DPO and CD 31 can I trust my BFN to be correct or do I need to rest again on a few days of no AF has turned up?
MissMonkey · 08/11/2014 08:28

Hi, hope you don't mind me joining.

I was on the pill for 10 years and I decided that the time was right last December so have been TTC since.
When we started TTC I chose not to tell people, as I have a friend who was TTC for a very long time and everyone started to ostracise her (acting differently around her and felt they couldn't talk about babies in front of her). I didn't want people to act like this around me. I did tell one friend about it as she was going through the same as me so we both had an understanding shoulder to cry on each month when af arrived but she has recently found out she is pregnant so I feel 'alone again'. But I'm obviously not alone as there are lots of ladies here that are sharing their stories and going through the same thing.
At first I would say I took each month in my stride and thought "oh well it will happen next month". After six month I started to think a little differently and the paranoia set in and the crazy/ desperate behaviour started (reading up on tricks/ tips to get pg fast). The guessing has sent me a little mad as all the tricks/ tips where all different and just confused me. So.... I've brought the CBFM in an attempt to take away the guess work. My af is due in two days so I will be able to start using my little gadget...so will be back with lots of questions.

P.S sorry about the essay, I just wanted to get it of my chest x

newbiefrugalgal · 08/11/2014 12:02

Hello,
I'm doing my first poas tomorrow with the monitor-very excited although do wish I didn't need it
My story:

Fingers crossedGrin

MissMonkey · 08/11/2014 15:34

Sorry to hear about your mc hunni, I'll cross my fingers and toes for you and hope Santa brings you a special present this year. Keep me updated on your poas results so I have an idea of what to expect x

JGruner · 09/11/2014 14:31

May I join? Will receive my cbfm in the post on Tuesday. Hubby and I have been 7 months ttc, 4 months ago resulted in chemical pregnancy. I have a regular cycle 27-30 days so I'm hopping this will happen in the first few months. Baby dust to all you others who will be testing soon. Xx

MissMonkey · 09/11/2014 21:45

Welcome jgruner, hoping the CBFM works for you hunni. Fingers x

Mikeysmum2906 · 10/11/2014 21:29

Mikeysmum2906 · 10/11/2014 21:29

MissMonkey · 13/11/2014 19:21

Try to be think positive and hopefully the monitor will give you a helping hand next month mickeysmum. Af got me yesterday so monitor wants my first poas in 5 days... I'm quite excited about my new toy and got high hopes. Fingers x this works for us x

Mikeysmum2906 · 17/11/2014 14:30

Thanks miss monkey good luck this month. I'm feeling bit more hopeful again. Just gets harder every month and added to this my step brothers wife just anounced shes expecting and am so jealous. Horrible i know. I am delighted for them but wish it was us. Anyway i have to start the poas ritual again on day 9 which is wednesday for me.

newbiefrugalgal · 19/11/2014 07:45

Oh jockey it's always hard hearing others are pregnant when you are trying.
I am on day four of high. Thought I would get peak this morning but no luck. Will dtd tonight anyway. It shows my maybe baby app is out of whack to what I thought

newbiefrugalgal · 19/11/2014 07:45

Jockey??? Autocorrect sorry monkey

Teakind · 21/11/2014 13:41

Hey, i've just got a BFP on my second month of using the CBFM monitor. I didn't get a peak until CD22 so may well have been missing my window for months (it's taken 8 months in total).

I've googled what the pregnancy sticks look like for a positive before but couldn't find anything so thought i'd mention you do get two blue lines for a positive. Last month i had a squinter and that was obviously negative but this month i had a lighter one at 10dpo which came up negative and a nice dark line at 14dpo.

Keeping my fingers crossed it works out!

newbiefrugalgal · 22/11/2014 08:58

That's great news tea. Fingers and toes crossed for you.
I'm still on high readings waiting for a peak.

Mikeysmum2906 · 23/11/2014 00:16

Congrats tea. Am on second month with the monitor on cd12 no highs so far. Did u get ov on day 22 in first month too? Just curious I got it day 16 last month but had highs for week before x

MissMonkey · 28/11/2014 23:08

Hi ladies,

Sorry I haven't been on in a while but massive congrats tea... That's really positive to hear that it was your second month using CBFM..... Gives all of us a little hope rather than thinking nothing works (which I have been telling my self more often

I can definitely sympathise with that mikeysmum, it seems everyone is telling me they're pregnant and it's getting harder each month when af arrives.

If you don't mind me asking tea what were your stats before you started using the CBFM?

So I'm on cycle day 17 and my 11th day of high but no peak yet, is this normal.... I think im wearing oh out convincing him peak is coming so let's have a warm up lap lol

Teakind · 29/11/2014 10:54

Hello, i didn't get a peak at all in the first month and then had 9 days of highs before my peak on the 2nd month. I've never temped but i did use the cheap opk sticks and never got a positive!

I hope you all get your bfps soon! x

Ladyboluna · 30/11/2014 15:25

mikeysmum and missmonkey I am in the same boat - I have a small group of friends who I go out with once every other month or so, and 2 of them are currently pregnant. One of them met her partner while we were TTC and after she saw him for a year on their anniversary decided to make a baby and got pregnant, and this was all within the time we've been trying! (16 months).

I don't know anyone outside of MN who has struggled to conceive apart from my mother, and while we have a good relationship really I feel like I need to talk to people who are currently going through it.

Anyway, just started cycle number 5 (I think) on the CBFM. And I need to remember there isn't someone out there deciding who deserves to have babies but it's just a case of a sperm meeting an egg no matter what's going on with the bodies they're coming from.

Mikeysmum2906 · 30/11/2014 23:18

I have gave up on cbafm this month day 20 and still no peak. Im pretty sure I ov last week as i always get very sore boobs after and right upto af. I also has loads on ewm and the lines were quite strong on the sticks. Ive just started to feed the monitor the old sticks amd its still saying high. I think its missed my peak this month arrrggghhh so looks like another bfn month for me. Anyway Ill try again next month with the monitor and hope for the peak. Good luck ladies and congrats again Tea x

Ladyboluna · 01/12/2014 12:10

Mikey We all have the odd cycle where ovulation doesn't happen or it's longer than usual, that's normal - but it could just be the machine missed it.

OP posts:
MissMonkey · 02/12/2014 10:56

I have two friends who struggled TTC, one told everyone she was trying (which made everyone act weird and tiptoe round her - which is what I don't want) and the other who didn't tell anyone (only me as we were going through same thing - and now she acts weird around me as she's pregnant). So it seems I'm dammed if I tell people and dammed if I dont, that's why I love our chats on here as we are all going through the same.... So thank you ladies you keep me sane.

Your right though ladyboluna it does seem like it's only ladies on here are the ones that are going through the same thing.

I'm on day 20 and had 14 highs but no peak. I know you shouldn't read the sticks but about 4 days ago the second line was just as dark as the other so thought it was defo going to read peak in the next few days but know the second line has disappeared again, so I thing I have missed mine too.

I know what you mean lady about needing to remember it's just about the sperm meeting the egg, but I seem to be becoming obsessed with finding ways to push the sperm to meet the egg so iv even invested in soft cups and gels... I even drive myself mad.

Do you do the cheap poas as well mikeysmum? Fingers x for next month for you

Sorry about the essay ladies x

Mikeysmum2906 · 02/12/2014 14:06

Hi miss monkey i stopped the cheapies when i got the monitor as couldnt make sense of them. I might give temping a go along with the monitor next month. No pg signs so suspect ill be here for a while. I don't talk to anyone in real world about all this as i know id just get itll happen and dont be so negative. The longer this goes on tho the more and more unlikely i start to think a BFP is. Anyway good luck ladies and thanks for the support x
