Argh, in last post meant to say Kurama, fx it's still too early to test, not foscar!

Still a bit sleepy....

lucieloos · 12/07/2014 10:44

Thanks everyone, is cd10 to early to ovulate? I've just been reading that the egg may not be mature enough by this stage??

gennibugs · 12/07/2014 11:07

Morning all

I'm off to the hampton court flower show today. I'm a bit of a flower obsessive so hoping it will be good. DtD last night and this morning, will DtD tomorrow and Monday (if we can) then try EOD for the rest of the week. Got my fixed smiley yesterday but just want to have all bases covered this month in case the opk is wrong like last month or I failed to ov first time round again.

Sounds like some excellent symptoms here - fx for some bfps

I remember marti pellow! I wish I was too young to remember him . I used to love wet wet wet.

gennibugs · 12/07/2014 11:08

Happy birthday fOscar!

xBlueberry88x · 12/07/2014 11:47

Morning Ladies

Spinning Im going to try very hard not to test unless AF doesnt come.
AF is due Thursday so will have to wait and see.

Brixton must be hard for your sister and yourself at the moment but I wouldnt feel to bad you cant help the way things have happened.

Kitty my boobs feel full and when im exercising even with a sports bra i need to hold them in place so they dont hurt lol...the side dont necessarily hurt but just feel big (they're big enough already).

Laurano you sound just like me, the harder I try not to see symptoms the more I think ooo that could be something. I just done that when AF turns up its going to hit me really hard because im so tired of it all now.

ifallelsefails congrats!!

Happy birthday Foscar

Sounds fun Genni have a good day.

Im stuck at work till 1 boooo cant wait to finish and chill out in the sun with a book.

about 10dpo today but feel the same, heavy boobs, tired, soooo many spots on my face its unreal!!

EnglishGirlsReturned · 12/07/2014 12:05

Welcome lucy! From what I've read early and late ovulation aren't great (egg is either not mature enough or too mature) but that doesn't mean you won't get pregnant. There's still every chance that you can. So don't let it worry you, just enjoy DTD!
Happy Birthday Foscar!!

Spinning, I'm awful. Harvey from So Solid Crew lives near us - saw him in tesco and automatically started singing 21 seconds!! BlushBlush
Sounds promising for you Blueberry! Really hope this is your month!!

laurano81 · 12/07/2014 12:07

Hi Ladies...I just decided to POAS! Just an OPK...this is the result I got...I simply don't know what to think...I got a +opk on CD16, & ovulated CD 17, I continued to test til CD 20 to make sure! Anyway I am CD26/9 DPO now. This is the strange thing, I did a random OPK CD 22, to eliminate later ovulation, & absolutely nothing showed up on it! It was totally blank....ok trying to stay calm, as I can't deal with disappointment.

EnglishGirlsReturned · 12/07/2014 13:47

I'd poa hpt if I were you laura. I've heard very mixed things about OPK results for pregnancy but it def could be!! FX

Cpt1sock · 12/07/2014 14:05

I've just written a huge post and clicked go instead of post and poof it's gone, so silly. I'll do edited version.

laura wait a few more days the poas, hpt sort. Keeping fx tightly crossed.

foscar happy birthday lovely! hope you've been spoilt.

brixton I was 17 when I got pregnant with ds1, being a teenage mum isn't always doom & gloom. It sounds like you're saying & doing the right things.

Spinning enjoy Evita! I loved wet wet wet, my cousin named her 3 goldfish after them, I thought it was the funniest thing ever!

I don't think my eggs are mature enough for me to get pg, I ov too early. I'm usually so good at positive thinking but it seems it doesn't stretch to my own ttc journey.

kurama · 12/07/2014 14:59

foscar happy birthday! hope your having a great day Grin
laura I did a opk today and it looks the same as yours Confused im cd28/10dpo so fx we both get poss htps by end of next weekGrin

BrixtonBunny · 12/07/2014 15:09

Cpt it's not true that ovulating early means your egg isn't ready as the egg will have been growing for ages not just since your period, so don't worry! (I've been looking into this myself - loads of women have had BFPs after ovulation on cd 7/8 x

I totally agree that being a young mum is no bad thing at all, she just doesn't want a baby yet and is feeling really shocked that this happened to her. But she is well supported and has time to decide, whatever she does I am sure she will be happy in the long run, it's just a tough decision to make at 16. Xx

kurama · 12/07/2014 15:11

from left to right cd17 cd19 cd22 and cd28/10dpo (todays) what do you think?

Hi lucieloos!

That wouldn't work with mine blueskygirl30, once he's in bed he's asleep!! I tried last night but he was snoring in about 30 seconds!

There's definitely a line there Laurano81 but I don't know what that means on an opk.

laurano81 · 12/07/2014 17:05

Ovulation Test as Pregnancy Test
If you are a super savvy TTC-er, you have probably heard about women using their OPKs (ovulation predictor kits) as pregnancy tests. On the other hand, if you are new to the TTC community, you might be wondering how this is possible. While it is certainly possible to use an ovulation test as a pregnancy test, it is not necessarily the most advisable method for testing for pregnancy. Here is the low-down on using an ovulation test as a pregnancy test:

An ovulation test works by detecting the surge in luteinizing hormone (LH) that precedes ovulation. Pregnancy tests work by detecting the presence of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in your urine. Interestingly, hCG and LH are both known scientifically as glycoproteins, which simply means that these hormones are made up of a protein with a sugar attached to it. Of even greater interest for this discussion, is the fact that the protein parts of hCG and LH look very similar. So similar, in fact, a standard ovulation test (OPK) is unable to distinguish between LH and hCG in your urine. Therefore, if you have enough of either of the two hormones (LH or hCG) in your urine at the time you test using an OPK, you will get a positive result on the OPK.

In theory, therefore, a positive result on an ovulation test taken after you have missed a period could definitely indicate that you are pregnant. But, while it might be tempting to use your extra ovulation test as a pregnancy test, most OPKs are not as sensitive as an early detection pregnancy test, which means that you will run the risk of getting a false negative...so, even if you are pregnant, your OPK will not be sensitive enough to detect the small amounts of hCG that are present in your urine in the first few days after conception. If you suspect that you have conceived, the quickest, most accurate way to confirm pregnancy is to use an early detection pregnancy test.

Oh ladies, I went against my own advice! I should have kept away from POAS! Now I don't know what to think x I am going to hold off doing a HPT until Monday. The town I live in, everyone knows everyone, so we are going to get one tomorrow in the city tomorrow, & test on Monday with FMU...all that is dependant on if AF gets me in the meantime!

In relation to ovulating early or late, I have to say that I was worried about that too, as I tend to ovulate CD17. I said it to my acupuncturist, & he said that it didn't matter. He said plenty of women conceive when they ovulate either early or late, and that egg quality is not compromised. He works with a lot of couples going through IVF, so he is very knowledgeable on all matters concerning fertility. If any of you are concerned a simple hormone blood test can tell you the quality of your eggs. I can't remember if it was FSH, that indicated the egg quality, but I can check back my own results x

notoasthere · 12/07/2014 17:24

I got a negative opk the day before my positive hpt, so they can detect pregnancy.....but not always.

Siarie · 12/07/2014 19:04

Ahh I am getting really impatient, another very very (turn it in this light) faint pink line. But it's the kind that you wonder if it was really there, I got DH to look again and he agreed there was something there.

I might have ovulated later than I thought so may only be 9DPO but possibly 10DPO. Getting annoying aching cramps on and off still, feeling tired and yawning, sea sick. So crossing my fingers that either I feel normal again or I get a darker line tomorrow :/

notoasthere · 12/07/2014 20:16

It's sounding positive siarie fingers crossed

Siarie · 12/07/2014 20:57

notoasthere thanks, such a frustrating waiting period when you get weird symptoms.

laura Something odd I noticed also is that I'm still doing OPK tests and my line has gone darker again today. It was slowly faded out over the last week so that's helpful!

onehappymummy · 12/07/2014 20:58

Hi all can I join please?

DH and I have been ttc for a few too many months now, we have a DD already. Got a +opk on the 3rd of July and a few days ago suffered some quite uncomfortable but not painful cramps similar to that of a pending visit from AF. That with the excessive tiredness and sensitive boobs has left me quite impatient to test this month and constantly convincing myself not to get my hopes up! At 9dpo all these symptoms are probably too early to mean anything and the 3 hpt I've already done were completely pointless but its all driving me a little insane this month! Hence how I've found myself here for the first time since ttc. I just don't want to talk to my husband about it because he is stressing that there might be something wrong with him and he has it in his head that I will hate him if I can't have another baby because of him. Which is ofc ridiculous but when he gets things into his head... MEN!

Rainbow555 · 12/07/2014 21:39

I too got a negative opk before my positive test, got me all disappointed! Fx it is lines for you!

NanaNina · 12/07/2014 22:26

My friend's daughter is TTC 1st baby and I suggested she got onto one of these sites as I see them when I am scrolling down "last hour" when I am bored and looking for something interesting. Apparently she got on this one earlier today and was really upset as she didn't know what all the initials/abbreviations meant and felt like she was trying to read a foreign language! SO could someone be kind enough to advise on this please..........with many thanks.
