Hi poppet! No not using opks as we thought we should keep it low key at first. Tbh I think opks would make him even worse as then he really would have to do it that day and that's the bit he says he doesn't like, having to do it, like if someone said you have to eat only chocolate all day you wouldn't want it anymore!

I told him to man up and just do it and that's what caused the argument at the weekend, oops! I'm not really in a hurry, I'm only 27 and doing so so well at work so if it takes a while that's ok in theory, but as soon as we started ttc I just wanted it to happen straight away and I see babies and pregnant people everywhere!

Cupcake92 · 09/07/2014 09:23

Me, my DH was the same this month!! We are on cycle 4 n I kept having to beg him to dtd. It was hard work!!! N I ended up having to stay up till about 1am most nights as that's when he usually gave in! Lol!!

Aw Ducky I'm sorry to hear about ur H's dads passing :( really hope he doesn't turn to drink. I don't want this to sound harsh in anyway, as I know it must be a difficult time, but u still need to think what's best for u and baby. So whatever u decided to do on regards to leaving or staying, make sure it's the right choice for u. Lots of hugs ur way! Thanks

Yeah to be honest I tried opks for one month (because I could feel tension rising about dtd) I never got a positive and found it all a bit confusing and got stressed only to fall pg that month !! Like cupcake DH was working late so I needed to stay up !! We started to use preseed which made it fun and I believe helped the swimmers ! I would use it again . Maybe try something new ? Feels bit silly I know esp if you've been together awhile . Sounds like you've got a good approach to it allthough !!

Sorry to hear that ducky adds more complication . I was in a relationship where he LOVED to drink it didnt end well I hope yours has a happier ending !!

Me624 · 09/07/2014 12:55

It's good to hear my DH isn't the only weird one! I honestly thought he was going to love the more regular dtd!

Ah well we'll just see how it goes. I'm not really in any hurry it's only cycle 3. The only thing is I really would like to get a bfp before my holiday at the end of September, otherwise AF will be due when I'm away - but that still gives us next month and September itself to try if I don't get it this month.

poppet85 · 09/07/2014 13:04

me your very level headed about it !! Maybe a month of not stressing about would help anyway and it does only take once !!

poppet85 · 09/07/2014 13:45

Any pregnant ladies find they are having really vivid dreams ?! Omg they're so real !!

lillamyy1 · 09/07/2014 14:20

Hi me nice to have you back Smile I totally feel your frustration - when we first started ttc DP reeeeeally couldn't be arsed and didn't like to 'perform on demand'!!! It's always been a bit like that though since we started living together anyway, because he's got a much lower sex drive and often prefers to stay up later than me and play some FIFA or GTA!! Strangely though, it's got much easier and actually over the last month and a bit I think the extra dtd has made us closer. I definitely recommend using some conception lube too, it's much more fun and it stops you from getting sore so you can dtd more Grin
Do you think it might be worth not telling him when you're due to ov and just try to seduce him pretending it's all just for fun?!

Well I've had my blood taken and can phone up tomorrow late afternoon for results. Doc said he very much doubts I'm pregnant Confused I just don't know any more, but if I'm not I really hope AF isn't late because of some serious problem.
Poas superdrug one this morning and thought I could see a faint line but was sooooooo hard to spot I could very well have been imagining it!!!
Anyone else imminently due a bfp??

poppet85 · 09/07/2014 14:56

Sorry to everyone who is having problems.
poppet yes very vivid dreams and every night. One last night where I was bleeding and couldn't quite remember this morning whether it had happened or not.
I'm trying my travel bands again tonight after another day off work sick today. Threw up a lot this morning. Anyone that's had morning sickness when will it subside?
Sorry to hear of your h dad dying ducky. Hard situation.

I so need to stop smoking :/
Trying so hard! Seems harder to stop this time. Keep buying a pack of 10 every so often and really wish I wouldn't!
A pack of 10 last me a week but I still need to completly cut em out. Stupid fags.

I've had a chat with DP about how my obsession with ttc is effecting my stress levels and probably has a lot to do with mental health issues etc.
Have decided to give it a break while I get my head sorted and part of trying to stop obsessing about it is going to be avoiding mumsnet for a little while.

Massive going to miss everyone on this thread and I'll still be thinking about you all and wishing you a the best for your pregnancies and ttc. Thanks
Thanks for all the support from everyone. I'll try and find you all again in a month or two when I'm ready to get back I. The ttc train.

Take care all, hope everything works out for you all [thanks ] Thanks Thanks

Me624 · 09/07/2014 20:32

Good luck lillia. I hope we see you back really soon. It sounds like a good plan to take a break for a couple of months if it's making you this stressed. Thanks

cupcake have you tried using an electronic cigarette? Really helped my DH to give up.

Ducky23 · 09/07/2014 21:04

Kitkat I had very bad morning sickness last time and it did go away eventually but it does feel like forever Hmm

Lil, I hope your break helps and you feel better soon ThanksThanksThanks

Cupcake I found it extremely difficult to quit, I use a vaporiser now and find it helps. It's Deffo not as 'ahhhhh' as a cigarette but it's better than nothing at all

Cupcake92 · 09/07/2014 21:22

Good luck lilla! Enjoy the break and I'm sure we'll all be here when u come back! :)

I'll have to have a look into them. I stopped so easily with DS. Who knows I could instantly stop if I get bfp. Might shock me into stopping completly lol
