This is our list.
We have Evelyn and Evangeline - to be shortened to Evie- Beatrice, Matilda (Tilly), Mia, Nina, Florence/ Flora, Grace, Anna, Katherine, India and Elodie.

Boys: Isaac, Theo, Guy, Kit, Louis, Geordie, Daniel, Charlie, now Gabriel and Edward.

I like Milo but DH isn't keen.

Bearsinmotion · 18/06/2014 21:02

I love Tilly, but DP doesn't. I also like Clarabel, Lily, Bella, Alice, Rosa, Ruth, Iona... Girls names are much easier I find. If DD had been a boy (s)he would have been Joseph Robert, they were the only names we could agree on!

Lulu Theo Is adorable! I want mine if it's a boy to be Theo :) and Mia is so cute that's one of my girls choices. It's short but sweet :)

Saw my midwife today! Haha!! Went to book an asthma review and she walked past so I decided to talk to her about my strange tests and showed her a picture I took. She said 'a line is a line' and said test Friday and if I still see even a glimps of a line to book my 8 week apt with her!
I love my midwife :) when I first spoke to her tho she said to my DS "what's ur mother done now aye!" Haha!

Ducky23 · 18/06/2014 21:12

If il we have a girl it will be lily Smile

I don't like boys names and I don't really like the boys name DH is obsessed with and set on Hmm

I'm fed up with my mw Hmm

They promised all this 'extra care' before I was pg but really all I had was one extra scan Hmm

Bearsinmotion · 18/06/2014 21:31

That's a shame Ducky :( in our area we have something called Silver Star for high risk pregnancies - I don't think we got extra scans but the support was amazing. Having said that I only got into it because I asked for it (a friend who was an older mum and having twins had been on it) - perhaps it's worth seeing if there is something like that near you? Are you in the UK?

it's funny that midwives are so diverse - my local midwife was fine, the hospital midwives were lovely, the one who did my follow up after DD was born was a cow - I was in a lot of pain and she refused to check my stitches and spoke to DP about me as if I wasn't there Angry. Went to the doctors in agony a few days later and I had a UTI, which he said was very common if you have stitches. The midwife should have known that, surely?!

Thats a shame ducky sometimes I think that services dont take pregnant ladies concerns seriously and that we're being hysterical ! When I told my boss we went for an early scan today she said "well why did you do that?" I think she was just excited for me but I thought 'whats it got to do with you' !

Ducky23 · 18/06/2014 21:39

I'm in the uk bears, in the midlands, what is silver star? I've never heard of it.

It's wound me up more as they were worried about my blood pressure and I'm meant to get it checked tomorrow but can't contact her Hmm

Ducky23 · 18/06/2014 21:41

Yea it's a shame, people don't realise how truly terrifying it is! I don't think many people are aware of the pregnancy loss statistics!!!

I know it would be impossible but I think every woman should have more than 2 scans, it would save so many lives Hmm

Silver Star - the Special Care for Special Mothers is a bit cringey, but the care is superb.

OP posts:
Ducky23 · 18/06/2014 21:49

Ahh it's a bit further away from me Hmm doh! Grin

I think il just call my gp if I don't hear anything and see if she could check it for me.

poppet85 · 18/06/2014 21:53

Oh god tori that would have upset me . ducky I agree my one today totally put my mind at rest I know its not the magic answer but it was very reassuring ,me and dh are much happier today !

Bearsinmotion · 18/06/2014 21:59

Worth asking if your hospital does something similar though? It does mean consultant-led rather than midwife-led care but I'm fine with that!

OP posts:
Ducky23 · 18/06/2014 22:07

I'm already consultant lead, but he completely changed my care plan from what he initially said before I got pg, it now includes a lot less scans and appts Hmm I saw him at 9 weeks then I don't see him again until 26 Confused

I know it sounds a bit stupid but I get very anxious.

Omg I'm in midlands too! Haha!
Slap bang in the middle I am lol :p

poppet85 · 18/06/2014 22:15

ducky thats doesnt sound silly at all

Ducky23 · 18/06/2014 22:19

GrinGrin

No he didn't say, I said to him why have you changed that because you said I could have them every two weeks and he kind of brushed it off and said oh well we will discuss it at 26 weeks.

I looked into in and that hospital averages around 6 still births per year, which thankfully isn't a lot, so I thought they would provide extra support and care. Feeling a bit fed up with them now Hmm I might just be my own midwife Grin

Ducky23 · 18/06/2014 22:20

Or maybe you guys can be my midwifes and just talk me through it!!! GrinGrinGrinGrin

Cupcake92 · 18/06/2014 22:20

It doesn't sound silly Ducky, u can't help feeling anxious. I'd talk to ur midwife or gp and just explain u need more reassurance through scans and appointments and see if the can give u more?

LuluJakey1 · 18/06/2014 22:51

I think they could be more supportive Ducky given what happened last time. It would help you feel reassured. Make a fuss.

The times my mum was very poorly in the last few years, I used to make a very firm, calm fuss and insist on seeing the consultant if I was not happy with what was happening. There were other elderly people who had no one to speak up for them and they did not get the same level of care on the wards. Make a fuss, calmly and firmly and nicely. Don't be fobbed off.

Lily is a lovely name. I also like Isabella and Iona- can't remember who said them but both lovely names.

VERY tired tonight! Anyone else just wiped out? Came home and took my clothes off and lay on bed with curtains shout and cool fan on full for an hour. DH still at work then. When he came in, we had tea then I have lain on the sofa then come up to bed. He is cleaning up downstairs.

lillamyy1 · 18/06/2014 23:53

I'm from the midlands too!!!! But in the sw atm.
Cupcake, fx for line tomorrow/Friday!

Cupcake92 · 19/06/2014 06:25
