My doctor explained me that this first scan (a vaginal one...grrrr) was to date the baby and estimate the edd, but this date should be confirmed or updated at the 12 weeks scan. He precised that this first scan is also needed to exclude an extrauterine pregnancy (I had a really bad pain on the right side yesterday night, so I hope he will give me good nows...) and it's the occasion to order the first blood test to check the evolution of the BhCG.

I understand your willingness to tell the big news to your parents and inlaws, but dont' you want to wait until your first scan and to know that everything is allright before telling your family? I'm so scared right now, I couldn't tell anyone...!

Well... FRER is 100% bfn :( but did another IC and I can still see a very very faint line. 3rd one now. I just hope they aren't crap tests!! They are the 10miu ones

My sister who lives miles away text me last night confirming what day were meeting in June and then said 'if your pregnant we wont drink' I hadnt even told her anything shes a witch !!So she now knows ! But thats it !

Cupcake the fact you've done more than one ic is definitively very exciting!!! And you're only 10dpo- didn't you say last time it didn't show up properly til 17dpo?!

Cupcake, remember false negs are common, false positives are very rare! Your still very early on some frers are only 15mui too where as some are 10.

And about the dating scans, they put me a few days behind what I thought I was at 6 weeks, then at 9 moved me forward a little then at 12 moved me ahead so they aren't too accurate before 12 weeks but will give you an idea

cupcake maybe its a case of waiting a few more days to test again ? False positives are very rare I think . Dont want to get your hopes up maybe try and wait until saturday ?!

Yeah I'm going to wait now. (I say I'll wait but I know I'll test when I wake up tomorrow!) and yes I got a positive at 17 DPO with my DS on an asda brand one. So I was shocked to even see this tiny squinty line now at 10dpo!!

But I'll keep u all posted if I get a strong bfp!
Will need to know before Saturday tho as away with my mom and I don't rele wanna get either down or extremely excited as we want to keep it a secret till our scan.

I've just received my booking appointment for 24th July, I will be nearly 11 wks then, seams really late? Should I push for an earlier appointment?

Sounds a bit late but your hospital will have a process they take people though and its perfectly normal to have . Give them a ring and ask if it will impact on your scan . My midwife service wont even take referrals before 7 weeks they all work differently

I think my one with dd was around 10 - 11 weeks and I got my scan through the post quickly. But I didn't find out until late.

I have just booked a private gender scan for 19th July

Thanks ladies, I will ring tomorrow to see what they say. I can't bare the thought if waiting that long to get an appointment. I still don't feel pregnant, its very surreal, I want some reassurance to make it real!

Tori that is exactly what my dh thinks. I think I will just book one and then that will be done!

What do you think of Gabriel as a name for a boy. DH has come up with it. I think it's a bit......I don't know. I like it but just not loads. I like Ned today or Edward - which we could ahorten to Eddy, Ted, Teddy, Ed, or Ned.

MIL asked if we had considered Godfrey as a middle name (her father's name). Godfrey!

My friends got a Teddy I think its lovely !! Hes theodore though
