Thanks so much everyone! I'm really beginning to appreciate being over here and the health insurance we have through DH's job. I went from diagnosis to treatment in 3 hours which I am so grateful for. They actually asked me whether I wanted to bother to try 'naturally' once the egg was ready or just go straight to insemination next week!!!!!! Blush I said I was quite happy to go about it the old school way (not quite ready to ditch the NUDC!!!) and they practically rolled their eyes. I feel a bit like they have taken over full control of my womb already - the new Thai coup! A medical one rather than a military one!!! The bill came to 8,500 baht for the diagnosis, ultrasound and FSH injection which is £155 if anyone fancies coming over here and doing this too... Let me know!! Wink

Kurama - Smile my new PCOS buddy! Sorry to hear you have it too. I've been reading about all the different treatments... It says clomid works for those with minor disorders of ovulation - up to 50% success rate! That's good! how badly were your cycles disturbed before you started taking it?

hanflan · 03/06/2014 11:00

frenetic sorry about the bfn. Fx AF stays away though, then there is still a chance :)
It's always hard when everyone around you seems to be getting pregnant. I always have to remind myself that I don't know how long they have been trying, or whether they have had any MC or chem pregs. It always seems like people just get instantly upduffed though!

madasacatter · 03/06/2014 11:01

Wow, that's amazing chandlers

I'm so glad that you've got the support and treatment you need over there.
Can I ask if you speak the language out there, and if not, is it easy enough to get by? (Feel free not to answer if you don't want to)

hanflan · 03/06/2014 11:02

chandlers is that the price without insurance? As in any one of us could go and pay that price? That's amazing! That would probably cost thousands in the USA haha

ChandlersFarang · 03/06/2014 12:04

Frenetic, sorry to hear about your BFN! And boo to AF ruining the party for others too.

Mad/Han - that's the total cost I was given to sign for - I could have paid cash but just gave our health insurance deets so didn't have to cough up. But that's how much you'd pay if you just walked in off the street! Many do... And it's all in English. The doctors there are all western trained. Some of the reception staff speak patchier English (but I try to do the basics in Thai anyway). But you def don't need to speak Thai.

I've never thought about going abroad for medical care, but today's experience has demonstrated it could be a bloody good call for some people!! I wonder what else i should get done here!! Lol!!!

Aprilray · 03/06/2014 12:20

Wow, maybe the next bus should be a plane to Thailand! We can all get upduffed and then relax on the beaches in the sun (I take it it's sunny over here, it's miserable and rainy here in London- boo)

I'm 7DPO MrsBeeBeeBee, my temp shot up and then has fluctuated a bit and generally feel like AF is on her way but we'll see - fx.

hanflan · 03/06/2014 12:41

mrsbee haha don't worry I wouldn't risk wasting a FRER this early, they aren't cheap! If I do cave tomorrow morning I would use a cheapy dip stick :)

MrsBeeBeeBee · 03/06/2014 12:52

Well fingers crossed hanflan!

April I'm completely clueless about temping... Is that good signs?

Wow, chandlers that is good service! Bet it's exciting to have a plan!

Aprilray · 03/06/2014 13:06

I don't think it is MrsBeeBeeBee. I'm pretty sure your temp is supposed to stay high consistently after ovulation and mine has dropped pretty close to my pre-ovulation temps a couple of times. FX though!

ChandlersFarang · 03/06/2014 13:27

Thanks MrsB! And I love the MN team bus to Thailand idea April, I'll lay on some entertainment!! Grin

So my stats have changed a bit now... (sorry hanflan! Still almost the same, lol)... With any luck, if this injection has worked, my stats will be:

ChandlersFarang, 31, ttc1, cycle 3, BFP 17-20 June (no idea how long LP will be!)

MrsExtraOrdinary · 03/06/2014 14:02

Bfn, with fmu on a frer! Got a spare, so if af not turned up by Saturday ill test again.

Panicked I've thrown myself into menopause early with all this worry Confused

lindamagoo · 03/06/2014 14:10

It's probably a bit soon for a BFP anyway MrsE, I just wanted you to poas to feed my habit, I'm having withdrawals, lol. I'd wait until Fri/Sat to try again if I was you

freneticfox · 03/06/2014 14:25

You're all so kind and encouraging, thank you! Hope others are having a less stressful week!

A (former) friend of mine used to fall pregnant at the drop of a hat and then terminate, every time. When I found out, I was disgusted. Last I heard she's about to have her third child and she drinks/smokes heavily.

I'm a fairly healthy 29 year-old with no vices (apart from a morning coffee). Hardly seems fair!

Viperama · 03/06/2014 15:49

MrsBeebeebee I'm 13dpo as well. I'm going to not test and wait for AF, so if you want we can hang in there together? I've been getting loads of what feel like AF cramps every morning since Sunday which Peter out to nothing so far. I'm actually wearing a sanitary pad today as I'm travelling for work. Its clean as a whistle except for lucas so far.

hanflan · 03/06/2014 15:52

viperama when is AF due? Are you usually very regular? I have high hopes for you, lucas is a very good sign!

MrsBeeBeeBee · 03/06/2014 16:07

viperama I was going to ask how you were getting on! I had the same thing as you today where I was convinced AF was here, went to the loo and loads of CM! Also feeling a but crampy. Fingers crossed it's a good sign.
When would you be expecting AF? And when is test date going to be?

freneticfox · 03/06/2014 16:10

CM is a good sign around AF due? I'm expecting AF anytime from Sunday up until today (my cycle is rarely if ever longer than 30 days).

I've been completely convinced I can 'feel' my AF coming several times today (sorry, TMI!) and instead it's been CM after I've dashed to the loo, pad in hand!

Got a BFN this morning though. Perhaps I'll test again if AF hasn't dropped by in a couple of days.

Viperama · 03/06/2014 16:11

Hanflan my cycles vary from 24 to 29 days. So AF could have arrived Saturday just gone or Thursday. I'm cautiously optimistic lol. I have been temping and they've even elevated about 5 days ago since ov, but I had to get up at 5 on Sunday, my cousin rang me at 530 yesterday (ta) and my cat climbed onto my chest a 444 today, and a colleague called in sick at 530 so I've no clue if temps have properly stayed up still. Doh.

Those of you new to temping you should take your temp before even pulling the sheets back at the same time every morning to get accurate results. I'm incredibly anal so think that has helped.

Chandlers I am so up for a fertility bus/plane to Thailand, I've never been and I know the DP would love to go. Penis Dragons decend on Bangkok then take to the beach to sun baby bellies. So happy you've been properly looked after today.

Viperama · 03/06/2014 16:19

MrsBeebeebee I think I'll test friday eve or Saturday, I don't want to have to go to work right away whatever the result as I'll be to excited/grumpy!! Haahaa

Shall we test together, and with Hanflan if Aunt Flo the hoe hasn't shown up for us?

Viperama · 03/06/2014 16:23

frenetic test on Friday eve with me if you are still in the game? X

freneticfox · 03/06/2014 16:27

Viperama - absolutely!

Aprilray · 03/06/2014 16:34

That could be why I'm getting fluctuating readings Viperama I woke up early this morning but laid there for ages waiting until usual time to take my temp when I should have done it straightaway even though it was early.

Looks like there is going to be a lot of POAS action on Friday!

hanflan · 03/06/2014 16:53

Ahhhh you guys go ahead and test on Friday, I am going to try to hold out. Can't promise anything though Wink I will join the party, but will stand on the side of the dancefloor handing out drinks haha

KittyVonCatsington · 03/06/2014 16:53

The new thread should definitely have Penis Dragon Thailand Bus in the title Grin
So so happy that you were seen so quickly, diagnosed and treated in one fell swoop. So hope you get your BFP this month!

I so wish the NHS didn't have their one year trying rule. You could have been not ovulating for a whole year before they then took months in finding out what was wrong. I am grateful that we have the NHS but something needs to be done about their speed and continuity of care.

Sorry for your BFN frenetic it is horrible to see but hopefully you'll be seeing that second line soon.

Thanks for the update English thinking of you and your little Dutch bean Grin

Thought it might be too early MrsE Save the other FRER for a good few days time. Till then, stick your feet up whenever you can and enjoy Cake and Brew

Waiting excitedly for the future testers Grin

ChandlersFarang · 03/06/2014 17:07

Smile Thanks so much Viperama! xx
