Congrats Linda!!

Can anyone confirm to me the whole new job/TTC thing...am I right in thinking you need to be in new job for at least a week before the cycle in which you conceive?

Xx

tobiano · 04/05/2014 11:03

Im tobiano, 35 ttc#4 cycle 1 erm whats BFP?

rambini · 04/05/2014 11:06

Morning all Smile sorry af has reared her ugly head spinning. But I am pleased u get to have another go on the May bus.
Fx for you kitty I hope af stays the hell away and u get ur bfp.
duchesse i am afraid i cannot be much help to you re opks, other than that I am getting infuriated by them! Is my first month using cbafm, and I have long cycles so figure I ovulate around the day 22 mark. Cbafm has had me poas since day 6! And since day 8 its been showing highs. Now day 15 and still showing highs. I am exhausted from dtd already! WHERE ARE YOU PEAK?!

kurama · 04/05/2014 11:07

oooh and drake is being addwd to my list too Wink

kurama · 04/05/2014 11:09

tobi bfp is the date your period/af is due. or the date you get a Big Fat Possitive on a pregnancy testGrin

RetroHippy · 04/05/2014 11:12

bellaboo no idea! I'm winging it at the moment, figure as long as you have been doing work of some description for at least 6 months before giving birth you're entitled to smp or at least maternity allowance don't quote me on that and in my job I don't get omp until I've been there 24 months, and I'm hoping it doesn't take that long.

We waited long enough for things to be right, we'll manage whatever happens!

tobiano · 04/05/2014 11:15

ahhhh thank you kurama

in that case I'll rewrite lol

tobiano - 35, ttc#4, cycle 1, BFP due 11th May (I think as cant pinpoint my first day of last af)

seems ages away!!!!

theduchesse · 04/05/2014 11:17

Ah seems so very different for everyone, from 24 hours from light to dark, to 4 days. Well that gives me hope anyway that it's not necessarily too long until I ov even though my line is still faint.

theduchesse · 04/05/2014 11:23

That does sound frustrating rambini.

bella I've never spoke to anyone in HR so I can't absolutely confirm it but that is how I read the maternity leave rules too. But I believe you get something similar (maternity allowance) from the Government if you don't qualify for SMP from your employer provided you have been in employment for a certain length of time (so this applies if you change jobs while pregnant). I think this is what retro is referring to.

KittyVonCatsington · 04/05/2014 13:04

Awkward moment alert!! MrsE, I think it was you who coined the phrase 'bath swallowing'? At church this morning, I had a bath swallower moment when my morning bath decided to make an appearance! Soooo embarassing!!!

Serenitysutton · 04/05/2014 13:08

I wonder if any of you clever people can help me with this, am not sure what to make of it.

I've been ill for 2 weeks, trying to chart during this time but chart is all "rocky mountain" presumably as I'm sick. Will try and import it.

Got a positive OPK on CD13 as always (am v regular) as I am sick we only DTD on CD11,12,13,14 & 15. My temps have not confirmed ov.

So now I am only 5-6 DPO, taking obv from OPk (lack of chart back makes me wonder if I ov'd at all)
I Saw GP to get a sick note who said I have a virus which is still there I'm still ill. I have probably been dehydrated the last few weeks and yesterday I started to feel the need to pee constantly with slight, quite low Level but irritating pain.

The more I drank the more the pain eased but of course I pee'd loads, drinking constantly!

Yesterday and today I had pink spotting on loo roll and towel (it's not enough for me to get it and have a proper look so clearly it's not much) very pink, not old blood.

It's too early for implantation bleeding isn't it? And also I didn't think implantation bleeding would be like that. Could I have a UTI? I haven't had one before.

Help!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 04/05/2014 13:18

Oh kitty! Yes it was me! I actually used to think I had an in intensive issue. I even asked the nurse while having a smear once and she said it was hormonal. Nooooo it's blinking bath water. Was it obvious? have a Brew it's over now! BlushThanks For the embarrassment!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 04/05/2014 13:19

Intensive = incontinence Blush wt actual f happened there auto correct?

Such a lovely day and I'm stuck at home trying to get eldest ds to do gcse maths revision. He's got yr10 exam Tuesday and OMG he's sooo resistant. Shock

KittyVonCatsington · 04/05/2014 13:51

Intensive incontinence sounds about right Wink Slightly damp jeans that had to be changed when I got home Grin but otherwise, very pleased it wasn't AF as that was my first thought Blush

Serenity, I don't think I can help but maybe English might be along soon, if she isn't still at her friends wedding (think that's right?!) Sorry you have been unwell.

OP posts:
KittyVonCatsington · 04/05/2014 13:53

MrsE - I'd try and get a past paper off the Internet (dependent on Exam board) and get him to try that. Then mark it using Mark Scheme (omitting any of the topics not already covered yet) and that would be a useful revision exercise for the day. That is, if you can get him to sit down for about an hour!

Thanks kitty. Can't import the blasted stupid chart! X

MrsExtraOrdinary · 04/05/2014 14:16

Thanks kitty I have printed off a previous paper. Question 11. DRaw a plane of symmetry on the 3D shape.....answer: ds has drawn an aeroplane! He thinks it's all one big joke! He does know the answer but will not be helped. Sad

MrsExtraOrdinary · 04/05/2014 14:24

Give me a baby any day of the week! Teenagers are another story Sad

MelMc73 · 04/05/2014 14:31

Welcome tobiano! Thanks kitty for updated stats. Been out for lunch....stuffed now! Friend gave me some fertility books to read.....away to boil kettle and put feet up Brew

tobiano · 04/05/2014 14:43

Thanks!
Its so nice to 'speak' to ladies in the same situation..or on same bus!!

I have had butterflies ever since it happened..and this next week is going to go SO slow!!!

Ive been dieting and had a very tough exercise regime, so have put it off 'just in case' ... heres hoping ;)

ladyflower23 · 04/05/2014 14:49

Sounds like a uti to me serenity. you can get these cranberry sachet things from chemists which help with symptoms but if not better in couple days should go to see gp

Spotti · 04/05/2014 15:21

Noooooo, George has gone! R.I.P George the dragon emoticon [very sad face].

OH was well and truly pounced on yesterday (it was his birthday too so he felt v.special Wink). Wouldn't it be nice if we conceived on his birthday and found out near mine?. He was quite impressed with the positive OPK - even more so when I showed him how faint he day before's was I don't normally keep already peed on pee sticks, I'd forgotten this one was still on the bathroom side! - and he's asked me again today if I'm POAS...it was much fainter today but still two lines so I think we're going to keep DTD anyway until either the second line disappears or we get fed up Wink.

With regards to how quickly do IC OPKs change from faint to strong/clear positives, this is only my first month using them but mine have gone from having single lines to a faint second line to a really obvious (and really quick to appear) second line and today has gone back to a faint second line. I'm assuming in a few days the second line will disappear and we can have a break from DTD cos we've done it a whole 3 times so far!, but like I said, it's only my first month using them and I'm not 100% sure what to expect...that and I only started testing on about day 8 when I was starting to expect OV might be imminent (I think it was around cd10-12 last month based on Lucas, but this month it seems to have been around cd16 and that's with v.little Lucas sooooo I haven't a clue what's going on but if my OPK was right then the reason I'm not already upduffed is because I missed my O-day by a good few days!).

So yeah, I'm guessing I'm heading towards my 2ww. Not that I'm keeping track! >makes a mental note that keeping tabs on SYMPTOMS and dates etc can be helpful when sharing post-BFP stats cos I'm clearly gonna be preggers in time for my birthday<

Hope everyone's having a nice Sunday Smile. So far we've had a quick photo shoot with pony and pooches this morning, lovely walk in the park with the dogs, sent them all for a swim in the pond, come home and chilled out in front of the telly eating cake for a bit. Still got to go back and see to my pony, walk a clients dog/do a bit of training with him and then I'm headed back home for post-birthday pizza, a movie and some sexy time with OH Wink.
