Been at work a few hours and felt nauseous and blurry vision off and on. Had weird dragging feeling down below last night, sorry but the only way to describe it is when you pull out a tampon that's still quite dry! Tmi or what!?

Im feeling kind of hopeful but don't want to set myself up for a fall! After 16 neg months I can't bear another neg after having millions of never before felt symptoms!

Best 30th bday news! I got drunk for mine lol!

Fingerscrossed36 · 25/04/2014 10:50

Congratulations Retro

Your stats give hope that a complete shagathon isn't always the best way to a BFP

Happy 30th xx

Mslad · 25/04/2014 10:57

MrsE I feel like I'm in the same boat. Flooding never came, in fact period seems to have gone (apart from sore boobs and pms) -this has never happened to me before. bfn and now it's now 11 days since I last dtd, but I think I completely missed out the ovulation window, so do not really expect a bfp...hmm.....

MrsExtraOrdinary · 25/04/2014 11:29

Mslad is just a bit crap really isn't it! Sad while I sit and wait!

Writerwannabe83 · 25/04/2014 11:38

Brilliant news Retro!!

(Yes I'm still here lurking to watch everyone get their BFPs)

What a brilliant birthday!!!

I loved your photos - I get excited seeing other people's lines!! Grin

gennibugs · 25/04/2014 11:42

Victoria - fingers crossed for you.
Are you waiting it out for a bit before testing?

MrsE and mslad I hope you are put out of your limbo soon - I just want AF to come now.

flirty30s · 25/04/2014 11:45

Aggh happy 30th and pregnant birthday retro!! So delighted for you, what an amazing birthday present! Thanks for the stats too! Just think...on your next birthday you'll be a mummy!! Thanks Cake

EnglishGirlAbroad · 25/04/2014 11:49

Victoria it does sound promising!
Sorry you're in limbo MrsE and Mslad, hope something materialises soon. Limbo really is the pits!!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 25/04/2014 12:17

Thanks English! Thanks I think you've been amazingly patient with your cycle, you must be fairly exhausted by now!

EnglishGirlAbroad · 25/04/2014 13:38

Well I think I have at least now ovulated MrsE, so another couple of weeks and i'll either be facing another cycle in the face or enjoying a bfp!! Fx!!

spinningirl10 · 25/04/2014 13:48

Fx for you Victoria, when is af due?

Writer....good to see you, how are you getting on?Grin

Writerwannabe83 · 25/04/2014 14:02

spinning - well motherhood has been a lot harder than I anticipated! We've had a bit of a rough week with little one, two visits to A&E, Colic, Reflux, screaming episodes and sleepless nights and emotional melt downs to the Health Visitor. We seem to be on top of things now but I was close to cracking up at one point. I was told that the early weeks are a trust test of a relationship and people weren't joking, between the sleep depravation and frustration me and DH were constantly bickering and sniping at each other, it was awful. But, we seem to have turned a corner over the last few days with DS so hopefully things will settle down and return to normal.

He's 5 weeks old today and doing really well - gaining weight at an exceptional rate!! I'm not surprised though really as he doesn't stop feeding, I spend 75% of my day with my boobs flopped out Smile

MrsExtraOrdinary · 25/04/2014 14:10

Writer I had 2 with reflux and 5 with colic you have my complete sympathy. Have you got some Gaviscon now? It really did help dc4 hugely. I used to express 4oz at the beginning of the day seperate into 4 tiny bottles, put sachets in bottles ready and they stagger through the day. So I could keep bfing. Well done you for sticking it out.

spinningirl10 · 25/04/2014 14:16

Writer...my dd had colic, I was a single mum at the time and frequently used to phone my mum in the middle of the night in tears, you have my sympathies also. No-one mentions those bits before!!
Pleased you've got some help and hopefully he will settle down. Fab that he's feeding well and gaining weight. Can't believe he's 5 weeks alreadyGrin

Writerwannabe83 · 25/04/2014 15:09

Mrs - we were prescribed Gaviscon at the hospital but the a Registrar wasn't really pushing us to use it as she said that a lot of babies have reflux and as DS is gaining weight so well then it's no huge concern. She said sometimes the Gaviscon can do more harm than good in little babies (in terms of constipation and trapped wind) and so left it up to me and DH to decide what to do. We ultimately chose not to give it, in agreement with the Health Visitor, and instead decided to try saline nasal drops (for more effective feeding) and the use of Gripe Water. DS is now like a different baby, me and DH cannot believe the difference in him, we've gone from having a baby that screams for 9 hours on end to a happy, smiling contented baby. It's lovely. Breast feeding is going really, really well. We had a very difficult start and most times I fed him whilst crying because of the problems latching him on or feeling like I wasn't doing it properly and that I was a failure etc but my DH was so supportive that I persevered. It took a good few weeks for me and DS to get the hang of it, it was a joint learning curve, but once we cracked it there was no stopping us. I absolutely love breast feeding him, it's such lovely quality time for. Us Smile

spinning - I don't know how you coped as a single mom, I take my hat off to you!! Me and DH have been taking it in turns to deal with the screaming, I don't think I would have coped if it had all been on my shoulders. Him being 5 weeks may seem a long time to you, but to me it feels like he's been here forever. He's my special Mr Potato Head (that's one of his nicknames) and I can't believe how much I love him Smile

Goodthingscometothosewhowait · 25/04/2014 15:10

retro Happy Pregnant 30th Birthday! I'm so pleased for you! Dragon xx

Fingerscrossed36 · 25/04/2014 16:25

Had my Drs appointment. He really didn't seem bothered that I had 42 day normal cycle (why do so many of the ovulation prediction sites say if your over 35days seek medical advise?). Apparently if long cycle is a multiple of your normal cycle that's fine, it's just that Progesterone doesn't fall off a cliff and therefore doesn't trigger a bleed. However has sent me for blood tests :-)

Well day 82 so if his multiples work AF could be showing up this weekend (checked the Calender no dtd was done at the correct time Sad) so fingers crossed I get as lucky as broody and we can get set

Think he's going to try and test for ovulation? on day 28 of 42 day cycle, sounds ideal but with me currently on day 82 of this cycle not quite sure how he's going to manage it?

Anyway bloods on Wednesday, then just have to see how long it takes to get an appointment to discuss them.

gennibugs · 25/04/2014 17:09

fingers that sounds so frustrating I hope you get some answers too.

writer lovely to hear all is going well.

I've got the weirdest symptom (still clinging on to hope despite bfn at 14dpo this morning! ) my tummy and erm down below are burning to touch. its probably just a symptom of AF that I've never noticed but it's so weird that I've never noticed it!

PolytheneGirl · 25/04/2014 17:10

Aaaagggghhhhh Retro!!!! I'm so happy for you! CONGRATULATIONS!! And happy birthday!! Thanks Dragon Thanks Dragon Thanks Dragon

Awwww all this happy news!

For whoever asked at the start of the day (really sorry, forgot who and can't scroll back on my phone easily) I'm not sure exactly but would estimate am 13dpo, expecting af any minute.

I definitely didn't get my test out the bin from this morning and over analyse what is obviously an evap line

MademoiselleG · 25/04/2014 17:47

Well, if no AF fancy, you're still in!

I have really weird poking down below and still at the higher end of the temperature chart. No other symptoms really. Definitely not gone off anything (sadly), and still obsessed about POAS. Countdown is actually helping with the wait as it's telling me to get a grip and not test until Sunday Tuesday. So there!

I may have bought about 30 ic off amazon late last night after drinking quite a bit of champers...

victoria401 · 25/04/2014 18:39

We have decided we are not going to test until Monday if af hasn't shown up. Hubby has got his SA and its too late to cancel it now if I'm upduffed. He said he'd rather go to it none the wiser. Gives af ages to show her face too.

spinningirl10 · 25/04/2014 19:26

Ah that's lovely to hear Writer. So pleased the gripe water worked and well done on persevering with the breast feeding! I breast fed dd and it took awhile to get to grips with it and I remember a midwife coming to see me at home one day and telling me to give up and bottle feed!! I was so shocked she had said that. Anyway we mastered it in the end and I loved it as wellGrin

Writerwannabe83 · 25/04/2014 19:48

That's awful spinning - so much for breast feeding being encouraged!! When I was in hospital and really struggling to feed the support I got from the midwives wasn't very good really. I'd ask for help and all they'd do is grab my breast in one hand, DS's head in the other and then push them together, nobody actually taught me how to do it myself. Baby ultimately lost 9.8% of his birth weight in 48 hours due to feeding problems and he had to be seen by the Neonatal team. Rather than them realise I needed help to learn how to attach the baby and put that in place, they just told me to give him formula instead. I actually went home a day earlier than planned as I knew that if I stayed one more night they'd break me and I'd end up with a formula fed baby. Thankfully the support I got from my HV and Midwife after discharge was much better and they were very supportive and helpful.

fancyacupoftea · 25/04/2014 20:48

Cor, quiet on here tonight!

I'm in bed massaging my sore boobs and watching masterchef.

Everyone else?
