I've been thinking about my family history of conception since reading that rather lovely post about someone's mum (sorry I can't remember who posted it, terribly rude!)

My grandmother was 40 when she conceived my DM and had no idea she was pregnant until she was 6months along and went to the GP about her bloated tummy. She apparently had bleeding throughout. Can you imagine?!

My own DM had been married for 10yrs actively trying for for nearly 2 when they decided they obviously just couldn't have kids. Plans were made to go travelling and boom..... Baby #1. Quickly followed by #2 and #3.

My DS was an absolute miracle baby too, who came from nowhere at an awful time in my life, and I was told I had little chance of holding on to my pg and he had a high likelihood of birth defects ect. But he held on and we got there, he's perfect and makes me proud and thankful everyday.

So it looks like most of the babies in my family are "when you least expect it" babies!

Now to figure out how to stop trying!Confused

You're 13dpo and you're resisting?!??! THAT is willpower.

RetroHippy · 17/03/2014 14:29

impatienceisavirtue · 17/03/2014 14:38

flirty30s · 17/03/2014 14:44

Hey ladies, think I've just been kicked off the march bus :( my brown spotting has turned red. AF not due to 19th but turned up on 16th. It's quite light...convincing myself I could still be pregnant. Was so sure I had the most perfect little bean growing in there this month...

Has anyone else ever had pre AF red spotting turn into a BFP or do I need to accept the worst?

impatienceisavirtue · 17/03/2014 15:11

flirty I had that the month before the BFP last month. Pre af spotting turned to red and then period 3 days early - is the only thing different that happened and that was month before BFP after 8 months ttc

PolytheneGirl · 17/03/2014 15:44

Can I just check, did someone say grapefruit pre-ov and pineapple post-ov? Or have I got it the wrong way round?

Strangely I'm sure I read donkeys years ago that pineapple can give you an early AF. Anyone else heard this?

missmrsmummy · 17/03/2014 15:48

Polythene That's right, think the grapefruit helps with cm and the pineapple helps with implantation! I have read you should eat the pineapple core, is that corret Confused

flirty30s · 17/03/2014 16:00

impatienceisavirtue · 17/03/2014 16:24

flirty thank you but the pg didn't stick - am remaining hopefull for this month though :) and that the line wasn't evap or something which is unlikely as I did about four that day

RetroHippy · 17/03/2014 16:32

All four with a line? POAS again tomorrow, you know you want to!

impatienceisavirtue · 17/03/2014 16:34

Very faint but definitely - wasn't quite right though iygwim - was stronger on the edge, very weird. OPK was also positive. Then today - both neg. Very weird! Especially as it was the same story last time. But makes no sense at all unless there's some sort of spike on implantation?!

Choccywoccydodah · 17/03/2014 16:38

Results back but dr hasn't opened them so the receptionist couldn't see grr.

We need some bfps on this bus!
