Hi Kiki- good to hear you're well and comforted by your pg pillow! I too sleep on my front but my rock hard boobs do not allow for that anymore so I've taken to sleeping on my back. I know I've got a few weeks to get out of that too, but generally I fall asleep on my side so hopefully I'll be ok.

In general I'm ok- all I want to eat is crisps though which isn't great. I had a nice meal of sausages mash and got some broccoli and sugar snap peas in which I enjoyed. I ate the second half of it for lunch yesterday. I'm finding some things easy to stomach and others not so much. It took me half an hour to eat a small meal the other day! Tiredness seems to have subsided for a while, just this blumming queasiness I'm not liking!

How many weeks are you now?

Hazel- I too got very warm, and my friend did nothing but itch the entire length of her pregnancy. I'm beginning to think that there are no true pregnancy symptoms- just look how different we all are on here!!

Hey Kiki, thanks for asking after me. I'm 13+3 now. The sickness has finally gone, hooray! And I am celebrating by eating and cooking nice food again. Still quite tired at times but hey ho, was tired before pregnancy with a toddler and shift work, so I'm managing. I am not as fit as before though! I get a bit breathless walking up a steep hill. But I plod on with my little bits of yoga, and I manage my night shifts etc.

I'm still in normal trousers etc for now. Boobs no bother here, same size, not sore, which is weird cause last time they went up 2 cup sizes instantly and hurt a lot. I haven't told work yet.

I sleep on my front a lot too. To be honest I wouldn't worry about it at all. The baby is very well protected in there. Once you have a bigger bump you won't be able to anyway (and if you're anything like me you'll miss it like crazy - I think the first thing I did after giving birth , once I was washed and changed, was lie on my front!!) I know they advise not to lie on your back in late pregnancy, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to get some sleep! It's not a danger to the baby if I remember correctly, it could just make you feel quite faint. Pregnancy pillows are AWESOME. Hope you start to feel better for some sleep!!

KikiThePea · 28/03/2014 12:50

Hi misskgb - Oh, yes, I can sympathise on all I want to eat is crisps - for me it was cheese, and I have no idea why. Even now there's some things I can't bear the thought of - I still have to wrap a scarf around my face/hold my breath any time I walk past a takeaway. Initially I thought it was curry smells, but I think it's the smell of hot oil that's really causing the problem! Bizarrely throughout I was, and still am, very happy to eat sausages and mash, with broccoli and French beans - there must be something special about that meal!

I'm at 14+3 now, and the queasiness has all but gone (it's still there in the mornings, but such an improvement on even last week.) I'm still certainly more tired than I was before pg, but a week of very, very very careful skiing actually helped enormously - I felt so much better and refreshed after getting some activity, and extremely fresh air back in my life.

I'm still finding it incredible that everyone's symptoms can be so different across all stages of ttc and beyond. Wouldn't it be lovely if there was a nice set path of events that we could mark ourselves against? Sigh...

KikiThePea · 28/03/2014 12:57

Hi weebairn - posting at the same time! Glad to that the sickness has gone away. If that's not cause for celebration I don't know what is! So, you're exactly a week behind me!

Yes, I've heard that sleeping on your back in the later stages can compress a major blood vessel and that causes the faintness. Oh don't worry, I'll be straight back on my front as soon as I can be - I know the little bean is well protected at the moment, but being horribly bloated at bedtime just makes it so uncomfortable to lie that way. Which is exactly the same reason I'm in maternity jeans already - thank goodness for skinny jeans with elasticated waistbands so I still look exactly the same as I did before. Annoyingly I've gone up a back size so I'm powering through the slight discomfort for the next two weeks until I can get up to Manchester and go (probably) slightly mad in the Trafford Centre...

weebairn · 28/03/2014 13:08

Hello!! Yes I'm here! Watching the toddler throw baked beans and peas everywhere...

Yeah the in-between stage is a bit rubbish - I think it's much nicer once you've actually got a proper bump. My trousers fit ok but I'm not exactly feeling my best in them.

oooh you've reminded me I've got some "jeggings" in the cupboard which I wore a lot after birth, when I wasn't really in mat stuff any more but not back in normal jeans yet either - another good option!

misskgb · 28/03/2014 15:49

I caved and bought some. Well, there were some maternity leggings on sale so thought why not, and they're not see through like all the other brands, but oh my- they feel so good!! I hate having waist bands across my stomach at the moment (makes the queasiness worse) and so they are a huge welcome delight. DH is concerned that I'm going to outwear them before I get a bump!!

I'm in joggers today and have had to tuck the waist band under my little pouch....I don't know if my pouch is from eating too many crisps, being bloated, feeling huge because there's two rice krispies in there, or if I just made such a good effort of hiding it before my bfp but whatever the reason, I do feel like I've grown even though I know I've not really!!

KikiThePea · 28/03/2014 16:06

Brilliant, misskgb! Seriously - why do we go through life bothering with zips and buttons?! Clearly elasticated is the way to go!

I'm exactly the same as you - went in to maternity clothes early because of the bloating. It won't be from the crisps - seriously I really haven't put any weight on since I last saw the midwife but I feel I look somewhat whale-esque when I look in the mirror sometimes - and it varies enormously. The bloat is higher up than the bump, which is still somewhat of an odd feeling, but I definitely had the 'oh, there MUST be two in there' moment before the scan because of it!

Lolly84 · 28/03/2014 22:26

Hey ladies, I just wanted to drop by quickly and share that I have tested today and have a BFP. I spoke to my sis and she helped loads and said she felt exact same before she tested. It wasn't questionable and knew from how regular I am that something was going on. Can't quite believe it. I am not prepared whatsoever for what happens next so need to do a bit of research. DH is in shock, let's hope all goes well. Might be a bit quiet for a few days, very strange feeling xx

misskgb · 28/03/2014 22:35

Yes lolly!! See-those 'not pg symptoms' actually were!! So happy for u :-) yep all very strange when u find out n also a bit strange that ure not dancing off the wall with the news. Thats normal so don't worry-just rake your time n take it all in xx

Lolly84 · 28/03/2014 23:11

Thanks Misskgb, I know thought symptoms would be more obv and you have been very on point about just relaxing and dtd. Only dtd twice but at right time with help from opk. I just can't believe it happened as other 2 months I had been obsessed. That weekend away was priceless. Yeh it's a funny feeling as thought I would be bouncing off the walls. Decided to test tonight before DH came in so I could get my own answer of yes or no. Then thought if it's a bfn I have the weekend to sort my head out. Did you continue to test Misskgb?

weebairn · 29/03/2014 07:27

Congratulations Lolly! Thanks

It's absolutely fine to be a bit overwhelmed and take some time to process! There's nothing you really need to do immediately anyway, except take folic acid.

There have been an extraordinary amount of BFPs on this thread, it's great. We've only been going a couple of months!

mrshjb · 29/03/2014 08:43

Woe

mrshjb · 29/03/2014 08:43

Woe

mrshjb · 29/03/2014 08:47

Haha no idea what happened there, bloody phone!

Congratulations Lolly. Such amazing news and so happy for you :) You've really made me feel like the relaxed approach is definitely the way to go! Don't blame you for feeling like you do, must be such a surreal experience when you see that bfp!!

I was thinking that weebairn. 7 out of the 9 of us who write on here have their bfps. Just me and Hazel to go!

Hazelbrowneyes · 29/03/2014 08:48

Congrats Lolly!

You and me next, H Grin x

Hazelbrowneyes · 29/03/2014 08:48

Hahaha, great minds, H! Grin

mrshjb · 29/03/2014 08:49

Am I right with 7?! Kiki, mrsb, weebairn, misskgb, Gennz, Lolly.... hmm that's 6. Have I missed someone?!

mrshjb · 29/03/2014 08:50

Definitely Hazel. H power!!!!xx

mrshjb · 29/03/2014 08:52

Lady is the 7th!!!! Sorry I missed you :)

Lolly84 · 29/03/2014 09:29

Ah thanks ladies. You really have been such a support. I know I wasn't there rom the beginning but have watched the thread from early on.

Helen and Hazel I have everything crossed for you. The relaxed approach wasn't intentional from my part and think it would be pretty hard to do. I found out from opk's when I ovulated. The day of my smiley face we dtd and then hubby had a lot on at work so we didn't dtd again so thought I was out. Felt that would be a bit of a mind break and then carried on like not ttc with drinking at weekends. I was super relaxed. Only noticed my boobs sore and then missed period.

I really do recommend a wee cheeky weekend away as it leads to natural dtd than organised dtd.

With my family history I really thought it would take ages and must be honest I thought I would be at doc in a years time. A lot of women in my family have had their children with IVF.

So I have started to google stuff, so much info on what can go wrong. Trying to dodge that at this stage. Is it 400mg of folic acid weebairn?

And I said I would be quiet lol xx

KikiThePea · 29/03/2014 10:03

Yay! Excellent news, Lolly! It took ages to sink in for me, so just sit back and let it happen. As weebairn said, take the folic acid supplements because when you see your GP they will ask if you're already taking them, and if not you will be told to take them from now onwards. You can get folic acid on its own, or as part of a multivitamin - it really depends on personal preference which you go for.

Try and avoid Googling - it actually only leads to stress! I've found having two pregnancy related books has helped enormously because then I can read all of the general information without getting distracted by horror stories, and also it means you can skip over anything you're not quite ready to read about....unlike on the internet where I'm sure you just end up being ambushed by information you weren't even looking for!

The lucky thread strikes again. Fingers still crossed for you Helen, and Hazel!

Hope you all have something nice planned for the weekend

misskgb · 29/03/2014 10:05

Yes lolly 400mg. Bought a twin pack of tests. The line on Sunday afternoon was definitely there but feint so used the other on the mon morn n much stronger. Went dox that day just coz they have open surgery n I can be late to work on a Monday morning. They booked my 8 week appt straight away. Its on Tuesday n im stupidly excited by it!!

Woe helen?! That made me chuckle! :-)

mrshjb · 29/03/2014 10:33

Haha yeah, honestly I wasn't going for a 'woe is me' style post, just a tiny keyboard that's hard to operate when laid down!!!

Yeah we're looking in to when we can get away and what we can do to relax a little bit. Sooooo many people say the month they got their BFP was the month they were the most relaxed about it, my sister included, so there has to be some truth in it!

Ladymillion · 29/03/2014 10:52

Congrats Lolly!! Thanks great news

Yes Helen you forgot big old me haha, hi everyone, taking a quick 5 minutes outta work! Work is soooo tedious these days! Anyway I'm 7+3 today I think and I have booked an early 'reassurance scan' which is on Tuesday morning. The anxiety is eating me up girls! Fingers crossed all is well and I can breathe a bit!

mrshjb · 29/03/2014 11:16

Sorry, I did remember you about 2 minutes later! Just because we've not heard from you in a while :) exciting news about the scan. Let us know how you get on!!
