Slightly off topic but, what does 'ic' or 'ics' stand for?!!

RetroHippy · 05/02/2014 18:16

Well, AF has arrived Sad. Bang on time too.

I am never making the mistake of testing before AF is due again. Just can't deal with the heartache.

Pondering temping out of interest or whether it'll just drive me totally bonkers and I should just stick to DTD every other day. DH's response 'At least we can keep trying Grin' so I don't think he'll be too upset at that thought Wink. Feeling much better now I know though, onward to next month!

Pebble squeeeeeeeee!!! That is all. So chuffed for you!

RetroHippy · 05/02/2014 18:17

Loopy, ics = internet cheapies. Don't trust them, they are the devil's own work!

Loopylu84 · 05/02/2014 18:23

Thanks Retro and sorry to hear about AF :(

I assume internet cheapies are those tiny little stick ones that come in individual packets? I bought a load of them coz it said on amazon they use them in the NHS, doh!
Are they not supposed to be the most sensitive type though? The ones I bought said they measure at 10miU which is more sensitive than the branded ones?
AF due tomorrow for me and getting normal pre-AF symptoms now so not holding out much hope

RetroHippy · 05/02/2014 18:31

They're only the devil's work if you're impatient like me, test way too early and get the most faint evap line ever, convince yourself you're pg and spend the next 4 days in a total state! Also not advisable if you've got 20 in the house and are prone to obsessively testing!

For normal people they work fine I'm sure Hmm

Gingerbreadlady1 · 05/02/2014 18:34

Congratulations pebble lovely news!

Thanks sleeping will study this new information!

Getting desperate, had wanted to avoid temping but it may be the next thing to try. Can anyone recommend type/where to buy thermometer, boots? Expensive?

Thanks!

(Slinks off bus consoling myself with creme eggs and too much Cake

RetroHippy · 05/02/2014 18:41

I have Wine.

I bought my thermometer off've Amazon with my mass purchase of OPKs and hpts. Cost about £3. I figure if it's not quite calibrated at least if I'm not using any other thermometer it'll be accurate enough for measuring the changes. Plus it beeps.

Jessica78 · 05/02/2014 18:49

Pebble congrats!!!

How wonderful :)

Still no AF here, but I think it'll come tomorrow :(

LittleMissSunshine33 · 05/02/2014 19:21

Congrats pebble! Sorry to AFs :(

I feel excited about this month hoping that having valentines day and half term will give me time to relax and seduce OH rather than being so regimented! ... Now how to seduce with preseed, soft cups and NUDP??

KittyVonCatsington · 05/02/2014 19:23

Really gutted for you, RetroHippy, was really hoping it was the opposite. Positive thinking for the next cycle. It will happen!! (it has too...)

SnowBells · 05/02/2014 19:24

Congrats Pebbles!!! Thanks

missmrsmummy · 05/02/2014 19:29

Awesome, pebble and thanks for the deets.

Really sorry retro Thanks x

Hope AF stays away Jessica!

I gave up in the soft cups after one go, LittleMiss. A big freaky. Should be called hard hoops rather than soft cups Hmm Also, tmi alert, but I had leakage (of sperm) so I was worried that the cup may have actually blocked some of it from getting to my cervix.

missmrsmummy · 05/02/2014 19:31

Also pebble was AF late when you got you bfp? Sorry if you've already said and I've missed it!

pebble82 · 05/02/2014 19:42

Thanks all. retro so sorry to hear about AF. We have so much in common I'm sure it'll happen for you soon too.

missmrs no, AF should have been today but I've been a poas addict for the last 5 days. Faint line yesterday (13dpo) but ziltch before that.

Early testing is evil!

SnowBells · 05/02/2014 19:44

OK.

I really don't how else to give the little swimmers and the egg (should it exist) more of chance to meet and nest. So far, I am doing the following:

Fertility Breakfast

  • Porridge with 1 TBS Manuka Honey and Linseed (Omega 3)
  • 1 Glass Grapefruit Juice

Pills & other things to help with TTC

  • 2x Agnus Castus tablets
  • 3x Zita West Vitafem (Pre-conception pills)
  • 1x Evening Primrose Oil
  • 1x Krill Oil
  • DH 1x Wellman Conception
  • First Reflexology treatment scheduled this week
  • CBFM Monitor (no peak yet!)

DTD

  • DTD at least 3x a week
  • Koala cycling
  • Pre-seed

DH

Anything more I can add to the list? Confused

EnglishGirlAbroad · 05/02/2014 19:56

Congratulations pebble!! Grin

Sorry AF got you retro Angry Stupid bitch!!!

Ginger, you need a thermometer that measures to 2 decimal points.
I personally think the temping sends me doolally, but I also like to know I've ovulated. Hate it when it gets close to af and temp isn't doing what you want if to!! Angry Swings and round abouts!

spinningirl10 · 05/02/2014 20:01

Pebble...Congratulations and thanks for the detailsGrin

Sorry to hear af has caught up with some of youHmm

Barmy.....love your thoughts for ov and bfp, how easy would it be if that really happened!!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 05/02/2014 20:05

Thanks for thermometer advice, will do some research. Oh & anyone taking essential fatty acids, holland and barrett are doing them for £11 rather than £25, ends today.

RetroHippy · 05/02/2014 20:12

Thanks for all the love you lot Blush

SnowBells, I love your 'fertility breakfast' Grin might have to try that Wink.

If anyone misses me I'll be lurking at the back of the March bus. Will pop back in from time to time to catch up with the BFPs. Good luck all! X

RetroHippy · 05/02/2014 20:24

And to make myself feel better I've just booked in for a new tattoo I've been wanting for ages! Treat times Smile

Treaclepie19 · 05/02/2014 20:50

Sorry to those AF got!!! :(
I am trying not to test now til AF is due if I can manage it. Not that i really know when that is after my stupid last cycle.
Anyway... Had dreams all last night i was pg cus of that stupid line on the ic. Hey ho. Serves me right for testing so stupidly early!!!

KittyVonCatsington · 05/02/2014 21:11

I'm so so tired and struggling to get the energy to DTD tonight-what tips and tricks do you ladies use day in day out Smile I have Year 9 Options Evening tomorrow that should finish around 9pm so will need an extra special oomph to woo DH-help me out, eek!

LittleMissSunshine33 · 05/02/2014 21:29

Thanks missmrs the cups don't look appealing to be honest!!

Kitty I found the best thing was not to lie down! When I kept DTD last month I was so tired and could never 'do it' once I was in bed and laying down. Try as soon as you get in 'a quickie' then straight to be with your legs up! Grin

missmrsmummy · 05/02/2014 21:31

Let me know how you get on LittleMiss - maybe I didn't pop it in correctly!

missmrsmummy · 05/02/2014 21:32

Well done for your patience, Treacle
