Hi all. As promised, a sparkling new thread that is going to see a lot of action in the next few weeks, I hope!

Turquoise I think heroin addicts have more babies as they have more high risk sex! Don't get stressed about relaxing. :)

From what I hear stress doesn't impact fertility directly, it's more that if you are stressed it impacts your sex life - i.e. you do the deed less. Acupuncturists are obsessed with stress though.

bugger hope the cramps are a good sign. I had lot of cramps in the 2ww, but it's been mainly calm since.

Onelittlebugbear · 11/02/2014 17:45

Argh. Just spoken to dh and he said:

If I don't get at least 15 eggs out of the bastards (meaning the clinic) next time I'm taking my business elsewhere.

Argh. Just argh. Have tried to explain 15 eggs or more doesn't equal success if they are rubbish, just as 5 doesn't equal failure if they are good.

starsandmoonandback · 11/02/2014 17:58

One, perhaps the consultant can discuss this with him. He might listen to him??! My DS came from 8 eggs collected and not all fertilised! I've had 15 and 21 since and not a hint of a pregnancy!! Definitely quality over quantity.

twinklestar2 · 11/02/2014 18:26

I remember you keep! Thanks for the congrats.

congrats to you too Bugs. I'm so pleased for you!

wishwash · 11/02/2014 18:38

Turquoise I'm in the middle of an FET although...

I've just got back from my scan to see if my lining is thin enough which it is but I have a small cyst on my right ovary and 4 small cysts on my left ovary. They've taken my bloods to see if my oestrogen is high and I'll find out tomorrow. I'm gutted....

Badhairday76 · 11/02/2014 19:11

Oh no, Wish - I bet you are. So sorry to hear that.

One - you should definitely get your DH to speak directly to the consultant. Or get him to read a book about it? I have one I can post to you if you personally message me your address? It's called 'The complete Guide to IVF' by Kare Brian. It's pretty user-friendly. I tried (and failed!) to get my DP to read it .

Hello to everyone else. X

WannabeMaryPoppins · 11/02/2014 19:15

Sorry for not posting recently but have been trying to Keep away from the Internet and Dr. Google. Have no idea what has been going on the last couple of days and I am not even going to try to catch up - can't believe how fast this post moves!

one and bugs hope that the 2ww is almost over for you soon.

Wave to everyone else

AFM I am now 5dp5dt and trying really really hard not to think too hard about things. Went back to the clinic today to get my Hormone Levels checked and had to go back in for a big stingey fucker proloton jab and will Need them twice a week now until OTD. Trying not to read too much into but failing. If it was all lost I am sure they wouldn't bother but if my Hormone Levels aren't up to scrath then it certainly isn't going to help things. Still, there's nothing I can do about it so am just going to sit it out.

resipsa · 11/02/2014 20:08

Where's Bugs? Isn't it OTD today?

resipsa · 11/02/2014 20:09

MP - 5dp5dt and how are you feeling? Any inkling?

OP posts:
WannabeMaryPoppins · 11/02/2014 20:13

Well res I was actually Feeling ok. Not really one way or the other. Then a woman at work announced her pregnany today and then there came the call with the proluton injection and it has made me feel really uncertain. Although why someone announcing that they are pregnant should have any influence on my FET is beyond logic.

So know how you feel "Bugs". Keeping absolutely everything for you crossed. Let us know how you get on.

Turquoisetamborine · 11/02/2014 20:30

Wishwash, I'm not sure what that means about the cysts. Does that mean they may abandon the cycle? If so, I'm really hoping that doesn't happen. Hope it all sorts itself out.

Bugs, good luck for tomorrow. We're all rooting for you.

wishwash · 11/02/2014 20:35

Thanks turquoise. If my oestrogen is too high they will either keep me on Buserelin to see if my Oestrogen levels go down or abandon the cycle. Im not feeling confident Sad nothing ever goes my way

vallinnapod · 11/02/2014 20:37

Wish I had several quite large corpus luteum. Probably as I cycled so close together. They did an E2 test and I was good to go. Have you been on the pill recently? My consultant reckons it levels your hormones so even if there are cysts you should be OK.

Mary

WannabeMaryPoppins · 11/02/2014 20:38

Wish really hoping your appointment tomorrow goes your way

WannabeMaryPoppins · 11/02/2014 20:39

Um itching val. Just so didn't need to know that!Wink

WannabeMaryPoppins · 11/02/2014 20:39

I'm not um. Damn predictive texting

wishwash · 11/02/2014 20:53

That good to know vall she did say mine are small but I have 4 on one side so it's quite worrying. Do they all equal one biggun? I've only been on Buserelin which they think is the cause of the cysts. I thought the medication was meant to help, not cause problems Sad

Sorry for the self absorbed posts x

nobeer · 11/02/2014 23:37

One your husband is being a fuckwit. I remember your first posts under your previous nn when you really had some serious doubts about having IVF because of possible complications with your diabetes. Sorry to be so plain speaking but he makes my blood boil. Please please only do another cycle if you want to. It's your body. I think I mentioned months ago that I have some pre-existing conditions too, so I certainly understand the stress and worries you've had over meds interracting, side effects etc. But in my case the IVF decision has always been a joint decision and DP has always said that it's my body so my decision is final.

Apologies for the rant, but I really feel for you.

MP - in the world of IVF as I've come to know it , it is ENTIRELY logical that A Random's announcement might affect you. Let alone, say, Gwen Stefani's or Kate Silverton's (in my case). This is how we all think Wink

OP posts:
WannabeMaryPoppins · 12/02/2014 06:30

One I completely agree with nobeer. & in my clinic they aim for.8 to.12 eggs maximum to avoid over stimulation.

WannabeMaryPoppins · 12/02/2014 06:32

Res I knew you would understand. That's why this thread is so goodGrin Grin I think if Kate & William announce their second pregnancy it might just tip me over the edge

Badhairday76 · 12/02/2014 08:01

HeyBugs - good luck today! I have to admit, when I phoned the hospital for the blood count, my heart was in my mouth! I've stopped testing now. I didn't get a full on line though until the weekend, so about 19 days past egg collection. I've def got symptoms now. The main one is feeling ridiculously tired and having a metallic taste in my mouth at night. It's gross. I also feel alternately queasy and starving hungry. I've been eating a lot more than I would usually but have been doing that since I started IVF, to be honest. My boobs are a bit tender, but nothing like as bad as they were when I was pregnant with my DS though. I am only 5 weeks plus 2 days though. I didn't realise I was preggers with my DS though until I was at least 8 weeks (oh blissful ignorance!) but was drinking wine and stuff right up to then so I don't think the symptoms could have been that strong.

I'm a bit fed up with my DP right now. He has said NOTHING since we had the blood test results other than 'well, it's still early days'. He is also being a complete arse and not pulling his weight with our DS at all, even though he knows I feel rough and tired. Bloody men!
